This is a great video, the truck look s fantastic, sounds brilliant, and I just love the ride from inside the cab watching the goings on.....Brilliant! 10/10 and a big thumbs up from me...Paul :-)
I took my HGV1 test in a 1969 Atki during the hot summer of 1976. I was out first thing in the morning when all the kids were going to school and the examiner took me down narrow roads with cyclists everywhere. Happy days!
It's a good job he's no driving a horse , it would be worn out and he'd be charged with cruelty. Theirs no need for all that reving and changing down with a empty lorry, these big Rolls engines had masses of torque at low revs and would pull fully loaded from way low down, ok know it's for the film, Pleased to see foot of the clutch between gear changes. First class lorry and video.Thank you.
@thelanyman I'm sure he means is there a page with information about the engine that you know of. I don't know myself but there may well be one. Nice truck by the way. Looks and sounds well, and can certainly still move
@firglenchainsaws thanks, 8 wheeled tippers are the best looking atki's i think. fuller boxes are fantastic, but are a swine if you miss one, wich i do from time to time.
my dad was still driving one up until 87-88 i think twin 400ltr tanks and belly tank fitted. He loved it and did some roaming in it i can tell you. Sound of it made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Miss it and i miss me dad. I been driving bendys for 17 years now they dont come close. Proper tool. Dont think i be saying that winter top of shap though?. Haha.
used one of these as a shunter back in the day with a cummins engine, sounded nice

Awesome truck, but...
Can i get a webpage about this engine? IT sounds pretty much like a cummins lol

yeh it just keeps the wheels on the ground. the axle is a 13T under slug, so she is very jumpy with no trailer.

hia, am sure that the older truck would get up better with it been on metal springs, new trucks dont like the wet or snow, thanks for the comment
