"Titanic? Its the big one that went down? Maybe on another trip?" - LOL, who wrote these episodes? I've seen better productions made by ppl for youtube! Interesting flick ... just such poor quality. The music, the era, the style, the story - Sad FAILURE!
I know Raise The Titanic was made in 1980 and Voyagers of The Titanic tv program in 1982.
It Just feels Like that Raise The Titanic the sequel to Voyagers of Titanic but with a different continuity cause the deleted Sinking scenes of Raise The Titanic were used in Voyagers of the Titanic.
I know Raise The Titanic isnt the sequel to Voyagers of The Titanic cause Raise The Titanic was made in 1980 and Voyagers of the Titanic was made in 1982.
also...I was 7 years old when this episode aired in 1983, and up till 1997 this was the only live action Titanic showing I ever saw, I never bothered with the much older versions of the story. Voyagers! gets so much right, again the historical characters, that I forgive the stuff they screw up like costumes and accents. This was an American TV series made with a 1982 budget, for an American English speaking audience. Yeah, the iceberg coming out of the ocean seemed dumb when I was a kid too.
Give this episode a break guys. The costumes and acting are likely inaccurate, but the story details are otherwise spot on, as are most Voyagers! stories regarding history. They nail the idiosycrancies of history, even if they screw up a lot of other stuff like accents, costumes and nearly everyone being English speaking. The Molly Brown character is pretty accurate here, even if her accent and costume are totally wrong. Ismay's character is also accurate, even if other traits are wrong.
To be fair this was typical 1980's season filler television. There is ZERO reward for pointing out that a low budget tv series didn't stack up to James Cameron's multi million dollar approach. Ever seen Time Bandits? There's a Titanic scene in it with inaccuarcies as well. Lighten up-it was all in fun.
Yeah! Everybody is ready for a Roaring Twenties flapperfest except for Molly Brown, whose dress is the one Jane Seymour wore in "Somewhere in Time". Horrible costuming, acting, and writing. ICK!!!
Bogg was so sensitive to Jeff in this first scene. He was really cute.

Wow...could tv/movies *be* any more disrespectful? Oh well, I guess the story of Titanic has a long line of being horrendously exploited.
