  • stupid spanish empire

  • Are the women at 5:11 wearing the 'Baju Kebaya'?

  • @oowen2784 wtf is that, were not indonesians

  • Guys, it was the Spanish that were in pinas before who were very cruel, but ya knw they don't actually that evil in these days, I know coz I live here in Madrid

  • @danjum I guess you can say the same with the Dutch in Indonesia. Many Indonesians will find Dutch people not as brutal as their previous generations have faced. I suppose we can't stereotype the race of a people to be evil, just the individuals who were evil are to be blamed for their wrongdoings or crimes.

  • wow i hateeee ttttthhhhhaaaaattt vidoe

  • bkit italian songs?kug spanishv colonial era?

  • My great grand-father was Vicente Jasmines, a governor in Philippines during 1910. Thanks for showing me what his life would have looked like!

  • Search ang type "Ganito kami noon, paano kayo ngayon?"

Ganito kami noon, Paano kayo ngayon? A film about Spanish Philippines

  • Can some one clarify something for me... Are Filipinos Hispanic or Asian?

  • @freedfighter96 both

  • @freedfighter96 Filipinos are Asian, we're not hispanic.

  • @ThtOnePinoy You Are Right Filipinos Are Asians Mexicans Are Americans Filipinas=Rey Felipe II

  • @ontario863 was that supposed to be sarcastic? I'm not speaking in geographic terms, I'm speaking in terms of culture and genetics.

  • @ThtOnePinoy ikaw lang ang hindi hispanic dito sa pilipinas. napaka kitid at sarado and utak mu. imulat mo nga mga mata mo sa obvious. baka isa kang indigenous people coming from the mountains na hindi na bahiran ng civilization kaya ganyan ka!

  • @rabisrabis Walang civilization huh?

  • @ThtOnePinoy sabagay, what's the use arguing with indigenous peoples. i will not waste my time with you!

  • @rabisrabis Because you are arguing with someone who is obviously more intellectual than you, racist prick. I know more about our history than you can ever hope to understand, well you at least cannot comprehend most of it. Why would you speak the Tagalog language if you hate indigenous people?

  • @freedfighter96 Asian and Hispanic, Hispanic is a cultural term, not ethnic

  • @freedfighter96 : hmm... we are Asians; but with mixed ancestry some are of Chinse, "Malayan", Japanese, British, Spanish and American decent however they are also others (a good number still) who are "pure" meaning there ancestry is not mixed with other "foreign" blood and who ancestry are have been here even before colonization era.

  • ALMOST THE ENTIRE PART OF THE PHILIPPINES WAS OF ISLAMIC FAITH, UNTIL THE SPANIARDS KICKED THEM OUT TO THE SOUTH,500 YRS AGO WHERE TO THIS DAY MINDANAO.

  • @p5rsiapino Thats not true. They were not all of the islamic faith, only certain groups were. Certain rajahnates were ruled by islamic bruneian royalty. Others were not like Rajah Humabon. I dont know where you read that all were muslims because your claim was not supported by facts. Visayans nations were not muslims. My pre-hispanic ancestors were heavily tattooed, eat pork, & drink alcohol such as Tuba. Our nations Deity was not allah. It was Guino-o.

  • guess what most of the Filipinos learned from Spanish colonization..the religion...most of them are catholics. They need to accept it peacefully otherwise they will be killed. It is either by cross or by sword.

  • @okcSDRmedia Gee I thought they were impressed with the Catholic rites because it appeared to jive with their native rites. Now why would the Spanish missionaries bother to learn the native languages and propagate if the sword is what made them convert. lol.

  • @Spearman36 On March 16, 1521, Magellan’s expedition landed on Homonhon island in the Philippines. He was the first European to reach the islands. Rajah Humabon of Cebu was greeted with the sword because prior to this Magellan was actually on his way to Indonesia to conquer but they came across the Philippine Islands and landed in Cebu where it appears Rajah Humabon had no choice but to receive the Catholic faith and befriend Magellan or die.

  • @Spearman36 Magellan encountered many that would not convert so they killed with the sword. There was a proud man by the name of Lapu-Lapu who was one that would not convert to Catholicism. Lapu-Lapu ended up being a strong force to contend with as Mr. Magellan would meet his match.

  • @okcSDRmedia lol you are fabricating fiction. dont spread misinformation. know the events and the motivation over what happened. read pigagetta who was there and a first hand acount eyewitness. you read too much comics.

  • @PrincessAprilAnn Spanish and Chinese weren't mixed up with them. Spanish and Filipino mixed up with them in the Philippines. But Chinese-Filipino mixed in Cebu City, they became a fully Filipino not Chinese. I guess not about my history hehe

  • @iMeboTube Many chinese-filipino are in Luzon as well, and from what I heard, also Warai and Cebu.

  • @ThtOnePinoy well, not all... most popular are in Luzon with mixed up looks like many nationally from half countries. Cebu in many chinese-filipino, but Kim Chiu was born. I guess not as if you're right or not.

  • Japan and America makes Philippines whore and poor they change us especially our beautiful concept of our society look at them now and look at us now what's the difference between powerful nation and 3rd world nation!

  • @6digit You forgot Spain

  • and those who criticizes Spain much without giving her credit of what and who we are right now please show some respect. Spain might have come to our shores will ill intent but in the end they decided to stay for some reasons that have benefited us in many ways. does it occur to you that the King of Spain realized how much treasure we have or how important we now think of ourselves when he decreed that missionaries be sent? at first for the Spanish Cortes and the court considered us a liability?

  • @jff624 LOL you are so mistaken, actually, if spain still had their greedy dirty hands on our lands, they would have been IN WWII, DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT JAPAN SAID??? INVADE TO "LIBERATE" US FROM WESTERN POWER, infact, the Philippines would be their first target for this reason, not just filipino, but Spanish blood would be on their hands, and Germany would probably have invaded Spain for this reason that they are both Axis, it would've been worse you fool.

  • @ThtOnePinoy : you have forgotten the stance that Hitler have on Spain; Germany have Spain within her grip by she did not act against her just like the Germans did to France, Poland and those in the Baltic Peninsula, they respected the neutrality that Gen. Franco adopted and even still gave military and financial assistance to Hilter. why should Germany topple down someone whom they have helped in the first place? IT WAS THE GERMANS AND THE ITALIANS WHO HELPED FRANCO WILL THE SPANISH CIVIL WAR.

  • @jff624 You need to look at it in a more realistic view, Spain really did fuck us up, but they weren't alone in fucking us up, that includes many others, such as the Americans and Japanese. Don't try to justify Spain, it's like trying to justify what the Americans did to the Native Americans. Look at it this way, all three of them are getting critisized, and rightfully too. Why wouldn't you be angry that your country was fucked up culturally, in wealth, and just barbarically?

  • Don´t worry; you´re very well in fucking yourself. You don´t need anyoneelse to fuck you up. Help yourself!! and good luck.

    An spaniard

  • @ThtOnePinoy : yes she did only that she she bares all the brunt of anger and the likes, she may not have been really a good "mother" but so are others. the best way to view at history for me, would be to look at it with open mind and unbiased stand. let us consider all things not just one and let us not be to blinded by the propaganda that one have for the other.

  • @jff624 You misunderstand, I do not blame Spain as a whole, I blame the goddamn Spanish empire, good riddance. Like any empire.

The Americans were not good either, I never said they were, don't forget the faulty govt. system, and the unjustly murders committed by them.

However, explain to me, one good thing they have brought, tell me. Catholicism cannot be said, as it is a religion, and as you said, we have to view this in an unbiased way.

  • @ThtOnePinoy : I get your point... it is a pity however that some people look at things without prudence... as a saying goes; "a coin has two sides" so are the facts and realities in life...

  • if Spain have not been here, we could have all Muslims and/or the Imperial China could have invaded us and we all be Chinese with Muslim names (if the Chinese would not launch a persecution against Muslim in favor of Tao and Buddhism).

have not the Americans came or have not Spain ceded us to the Imperialist Americans, World War 2 could have not come to our shores since Spain maintained it's strict neutrality that even Nazi Germany dare not defy.

those who idolized America much think again.

  • @jff624 And the thousands of Chinese living in the several Kingdoms did not go around persecuting the muslims they lived right next to. Just like those who idolize America should stop, so should you stop idolizing Spain, infact, don't even accuse them of Idolizing America, you may be wrong, their probably just mad at Spain, with no favor and probably have anger at America too.

  • @ThtOnePinoy You must be reading a lot of fake history to imagine there are chinese colonies next to your so-called Several kingdoms without a shred of evidence. Had the Spanish not attracted them to settle permanently during the Spanish period because of Silver I doubt their numbers would have increased. They are hated by the native people for all that "trading". Why dont you stop with your China idolizing yourself. To switch masters is not be free!

  • @Spearman36 LOL I NEVER SAID ANY CHINESE COLONIES YOU FUCKING RETARD, AND WTF??? THERE WAS NO HATE UNTIL THE SPANIARDS CAME. IM NOT SWITCHING MASTERS, YOU ARE THE ONE WHO STILL THINKS WE HAVE A MASTER. LOL STUPID ARGUEMENT, MADE YOURSELF LOOK STUPID, I dont have a master, who said we had to?

  • @ThtOnePinoy That is exactly what you have saying. LOL

  • @ThtOnePinoy You did say it so many times LOL. There was no hate before the Spanish came? What an ignoramus. Petty wars and raiding was common between communities. Who do you think the various bladed weapons were intended for? It was common practice to sacrifice a hapless stranger going into a neighboring village by killing him/her for a dead chief. Now "research" and find out which ethnic group did it. Only a fool imagines a pre-hispanic paradise and a perfect world.

  • @Spearman36 Lol didn't you just say the natives hated the chinese in your last comment? Yeah, there wasn't as much hate for the chinese specifically until the place got colonized, aka the luzon tragedy. You keep denying it and keep denying to even attempt to try to find out what I'm telling you about, this is why you don't know much is because all you do is deny deny deny, and wtf? Tsinocentric? I wasn't exaggeraating the chinese nor am I a chiense wanabee, yeah thats all you can say...

  • @Spearman36 and Oh cmon, you think you actually know what you're talking about? LOL, it's surprising that you're even interested in this topic since it's apparent all you do is deny, lol no shit if you keep denying and even ignore something all Im going to do is keep repeating myself, this is probably why you think I'm apparently "tsinocentric" is because I had to explain shit to you 50 MILLION TIMES, IT DOESNT MEAN IM FUCKING TSINOCENTRIC, UNLIKE YOU THAT IS SPANISHCENTRIC.

  • @ThtOnePinoy haha spanishcentric... thats new. I am equally proud of my Spanish heritage. My paternal line were Spaniards. However, I never said "Filipinos" were Spanish. its hispanic because the origin of the name came from Spain. No, not at all. Heavens if I am promoting a Spanish agenda. My agenda is Visayan solidarity and richness of our cultures. The Philippines underwent 333 years of Spain and the mixing is bound to happen which you deny. I never once said Spain was all there was to it.

  • @Spearman36 No actually spanishcentric is fairly old, just under a new name, aka colonial mentality :P And well no shit there are some mixing to happen, perhaps not as much as Latin America, but there you have it! :D I never once said there wasn't any mixing going on, nor the colonization. I'm just explaining what happened with your neighbor island, Luzon, all along. You are Visayan, but if you were from Luzon you would know this history of which I speak.

  • @ThtOnePinoy me? have colonial mentality? hahaha this is epic. this is so comical. i hate to break it you but you dont know what it means.

  • @Spearman36 Yes I know you don't, but anyways I find it funny how you ignored just about the whole other comment...

What is comical is you trying to prove me wrong in almost every paragraph I say, sheesh tryhard...

  • @ThtOnePinoy You are wrong alright. You cited "chinese" sources from who knows where. Many of them translation of a translation which your "researchers" tried so hard to connect with the pre-hispanic. As far as I know no one ever authenticated them. The exaggeration, ridiculous. There's even one commentor nenabunena or something who thought the decree to have Spanish family names all came from Claveria's book. Just so this idiot can insinuate that ALL "Filipinos" have no Spanish lineage.

  • @Spearman36 I'm sorry, but I find it so funny how you think all Spanish records seem to be able to be 100% unbiased and true, while on the other hand if it were something else, like Chinese records, you think it is inaccurate whatsoever. I honestly don't give a damn if you deny it, because your opinions are yours, but the fact it's actually recorded is a fact, just because you deny it doesn't mean it's nonexistence, because in reality, that is just your opinion ;)

  • @ThtOnePinoy Hell no, I dont just rely on Spanish records. I try to balance it with other sources especially material evidence. And I never said chinese records were inaccurate. They may be accurate but we dont know because you read it from a translation. First, historical accounts have to be verified and not be under the suspicion of fraud. Corroborating accounts are helpful which apparently you have no use for.

  • @Spearman36 I don't, but the researcher who discovered it is apparently fluent in it, if I had not sent you a link already, I will do so now.

  • @ThtOnePinoy If you don't know how to read Chinese ideograms especially archaic and classical ones, why do you jumped on accounts without material evidence? Btw send your link here because my setting doesnt accept any. And I will definitely looked it up.

  • @Spearman36 The group itself knows how to read Chinese, and focuses on non-occidental records of pre-hispanic evidence, they even post the hanzi itself in the group for you to translate yourself, didn't you see me posting them sometimes? And sorry but youtube does not allow links to be posted in the comments section for some reason... Why can't you read your messages? Your going to have to remake this h t t p : (slash-slash) tinyurl (dot) com (slah) 3kv6m66

  • @ThtOnePinoy OKay, I get it.

  • @Spearman36 I'll see if I can get him to repost the images on there, on his own site though, there are some of the images that were on there.

    h t t p : (slash) (slash) w w w (dot) siuala (dot) c o m (slash) read _ blog (dot) php ? id (equal) 14

  • @Spearman36 Click the facebook group "KINGDOM of LUZON (呂宋國)", but you will need to sign in to facebook now to see them due to a recent group update, or just click "cached", and don't mistake these guys for random people, a lot of them are either experts or graduates, mostly from U.P. Diliman, the famous Mike Pangilinan being the administer of this group.

  • @ThtOnePinoy They are just people with education. I have it too. What I wanted is the research material or PDF for the hypothesis "Kingdom of Luzon". I want to read the material evidence, the actual chinese manuscripts and corroborating statements from oral histories of the various kapampangan groups.

  • @Spearman36 Well had our scholars and researchers as a whole, broadened their search instead of just limiting themselves to occidental records,it would be very easy to show this, infact the group had a lot of pictures of chinese writing mentioning the empire itself,of course calling it a kingdom because to them there was only one empire and that was theirs, but described the actions of the kingdom of tondo as the actions of an empire, more on the trading side however, and even a little on control

  • @ThtOnePinoy All I saw was speculation on "empire." Its all crap.

  • @Spearman36 It's backed up by evidence... Your just denying, ONCE AGAIN... Even though there's a lot of evidence that is backing it up, not to mention the researcher is one of the few that actually uses oriental records instead of occidental...

    Wtf how is it speculation?

  • @Spearman36 Want to know a recent find in Cebu? Recently, they've found the very first Japanese tradeware ceramic in the Philippines, why? Because Cebu's politicians seem more leaning towards helping find out about their peoples culture and history, and nontheless the existence of a healthy scientific community, while in places like Pampanga, you have very powerful researchers, but your govt. does nothing to help you, how would you be able to make and spread more findings without support?

  • @Spearman36 Unless you're going to deny this article even exists, and try everything you can to cover it up, LMAO xD

  • @ThtOnePinoy Let me ask you on thing: Are you fluent in written Mandarin? If not then how do you know that the ?Ming shi luing whatever is 100% accurate.

  • @Spearman36 LOL so you have to lie to argue with me? I swear, no wonder why no one likes you? o_O

  • @ThtOnePinoy No one likes me? I dont know what the heck you are talking about. Maybe you and your fiction writers that fabricate "philippine history" dont like me. But who cares. Only those who really know what they are talking about knows. Your sinocentric nonsense is ridiculous as if the pre-hispanic peoples were beholden to East Asians especially the Chinese who never made a significant mark until the Spanish let them in.

  • @ThtOnePinoy : was there a mention of Spain idolizing America? I do not think you have grasped the hermeneutics of what I have written. I am not even idolizing Spain, I just would like to remind people not to blame her too much. for even if they have not been totally kind to us, still they have given us something that is good just like the others who have come to our shores. many people think that the Americans were totally gently where in fact they are. let us not be biased and closed minded.

  • Read this book “Manila men in the new world” you'll find some Mexicans their roots can be traced from the Philippines vice versa and Filipinos inherited some of Mexicans culture and tradition due to Galleon trade...Tatay which is dad in Filipino language for example is actually Aztecs (Nahuatl language)(amazon.com/dp/9715425291/ref=nosim?tag=idigita-20&linkCode=sb1&camp=212353&creative=380549)

  • LOL, spanish pervert at 3:34

  • we were actually colonized by the british for 3 years if im not mistaken, but they gave us back again,, i dont know if thats good or not... :O

  • THE SPANISH possession OF philippines WAS FALSE. LISTEN TO ME philippinos

THE spanish ARE GOOD PEOPLE BELIEVE ME

  • @unfukkkmee maybe some, there was a spanish governor-general in the philippines who showed the filipino people their rights but upon knowing this the king of spain ordered the governor-general of the philippines to be replaced because of what he had done to us filipinos (which means , Spain want us to have what we dont want, intiendes?)

  • @13Constellations : you mean Gov. Gen. Carlos María de la Torre y Nava Cerrada (1869–1871)...? yeah, he is the most beloved of the Spanish Governors-General ever assigned in the Philippines

  • spanish philippines was gold, american philippines was murder, philippines today is a failure

  • @roycelizardo As an American, I totally agree. America should have kept their hands to their self.

  • @PrincessAprilAnn My great grandfather was a soldier in the Filipinas.

There are mestizas filipinas very beautiful !

  • No matter how many years will pass by , somethings from Spanish culture will always be engraved forever in Philipino culture.

  • during the 333 yrs of Spanish regime they didn't invade the Cordillera....because of that, they scared the lowlanders and tell that the Cordillerans were head hunters and this was past to generations to generations...

  • nakakatakut yung unang song >.<

  • no matter what happen in the history its still a history at least philippines try and fight for the right as a better nation..if theirs any problem in our present it is our fault because we are copying whats in the history.dont blame the history but blame yourself if you do want to have a better nation, be a good citizen of the philippines.

  • @RepublicadeFilipinas Quit spamming that you asshole, quit throwing my fellow kababayans into the wrong direction, we aren't part of nor from spain, and we're not going to be a part of your opressive govt. No empire of spain! Long Live original pinoy culture!!!

  • This symbol $ probably comes from the spanish coat of arms.....

  • haha..look at hawaii now..Under American Rule for over how many Years? hahaha..

  • ¡Español idioma oficial de Filipinas ya!

  • both Japanese and Americans destroyed the beautiful culture of our country look what happened after the world war 2, these Japs went here is because they want to fight against the Americans and look what they done to us, they bomb some of our best site here in Manila, they disgrace our women and they almost erased the beautiful life of my country...go go go go first world country they always want to recognize as the God and Goddesses on the globe by making war!

  • @PlaidShirtsAreAwesom

look at Hong Kong , Singapore and some parts of South Amerika including Argentina sino ang mga bansang sumakop sa kanila, British,Spain and France at kita mo sila ngayon mapaka organize lahat kung mga Great Britain ang sumakop sa atin pati France magiiba ang takbo ng Pilipinas mas boto pa ako sa pagpapatakbo ng Espanya sila ang nagbigay talaga ng tunay na buhay sa ating bansa and look since before most of the Filipino's are totally travellers mahilig mamasyal!

  • @6digit Yup...tama. Pero it's the greedy politicians who made the Philippines one of the worst countries in Asia. Noon, pinaka gandang place sa buong Asia. Lalo Manila tawag "Jewel City of Asia" or something like that. Pero tingin ka ngayon sa Manila. Puro basura tsaka trafik. :(

  • @PlaidShirtsAreAwesom

di lang naman mga greedy politicians ang sumira naniniwala ako na mismong mga tao din ang nagpabaya sa kagandahan ng Pilipinas even some good countries in Asia are also facing goverment corruption pero bakit ganon sila kaoorganise di tulad dito diba?

  • @6digit Yup. Parang wala sila pakialam sa bansa nila. Sila lang. And what I noticed ay na walang bullet proof bullets ng mga military diyan. Kahit Navy SEALs, walang bullet-proof vests. Tsaka yung mga equipment nila, parang US Vietnam Era equipped lang. Pero sa Mehiko, corrupt din sila. Pero bakit may bullet proof vests sila?? Kasi over-corrupt yung Pilipinas. Like, kung hindi corrupt ng mga leaders sa militar, seguro you could have bought A LOT of equipment from us. Tanks, eroplano, A LOT!

  • what's the meaning of the song? thanks!

  • Fuck spaniards!

  • ALL sPANISH COLONIZE COUNTRY AROUND THE WORLD SUFFER FROM GRAFT AND CORRUPTION,POLITICAL GREED.UNSTOPPABLE KILLINGS,POVERTY,CHAOS AND MOST NOT PROPERLY EDUCATED PEOPLE,,IT IS HURT BUT THAT IS THE TRUE NATURE OF ALL COUNTRY ENVADED BY PARASITE SPANIARDS...IM NOT HAPPY PHIL UNDER THE SPANISH,,WE SUFFER MUCH FROM THIS MAGGOTS

  • @thedecagon You are so right and that is very true!

  • @thedecagon And do you think that Filipinos didn't suffer under the Americans. More Filipinos died under American tyrant than 333 years under Spain. Filipinos are so brainwashed by Americanism that it's almost laughable that Filipinos try so hard to be like Americans.

  • @YoSoydePinas

More Filipinos died in the 3 years of the Philippine-American War than the 333 years of Spanish rule combined, lol

  • @thedecagon yeah, and Brazil that was ruled by the Portuguese live happily with no poverty or corruption at all! /sarcasm. think before you write, eh?

  • whos 1:51

  • type in gift in front of youtube!!

  • "Let us be just : what British, French, or Dutch colony, populated by natives, can compare with the Philippines as they were till 1895? "

  • Hey people! If you want to talk about religion be sure you have the correct knowledge and information the same thing in history. Lets learn from our religion and history. Patience is recommended...

  • whow don't argue about islam and christianity we are just the same. look at the bible the old testament and the khoran they are really similar.

  • Sei Parte Ormai di Me is not spanish its actually italian

  • cute naman ni Johuston :p

  • but what did spanish times bring to after that 333 years? only religion and some old buildings thats it?lol idont even know spanish language and dont know anything about their culture... i only know tagalog & english... and were obviously embracing more our asian culture look at the fashion look at the korean shows on tv..

My God wag kang magsasalita ng hindi mo alam, I'm telling this to you pinapahiya mo lang sarili mo.

  • @franzken

Spain built 2 Universities in the Philippines (Santo Tomas en Manila and San Carlos en Cebu), before the United States even had one (Harvard), for example.

The first suspension bridge in Asia (Quezon Bridge), a train system, a tram car system, the first system of public education in Asia, ten years before Japan, etc, etc. etc.

A big share of the culture and the language is also Spanish, just because you don't know about it doesn't mean that is not part of the Filipino culture.

  • @franzken only jerk filipinos embrace the asian look..I still prefer the filipino fashion. Korean shows? That's normal, even s. american countries watch these shows coz it's something new but look, koreanovelas are almost gone. Language? Spanish language was abolished, thanks to your chinky president who wants to impose more asia on the beautiful hispanic culture during 50s - 80s. Asian culture? Observation: Phil is the most liberated country compared to asian countries, and that's good for me.

  • @franzken basa ka ng history. o kaya natutulog ka lang sa clase. take a look at government documents prior to the arrival of the americans, they are all written in spanish. the americans imposed their language thats why filipinos forgot the beautiful language of romance, which is spanish. wag na tayo lumayo, baka apelyido mo santo, de la cruz o reyes. anong tawag mo dyan? we could have been better as a nation if we were still able to speak spanish so that both north and south america

  • @rabisrabis all i know is spaniard doesnt even recognized asus as part of their history lmao do they help us atleast or asian neighbors do... they just conquered and erased our true indentty byt where are the full spaniards now are they on our shadow no peace

  • @franzken Don't listen to Rabisrabis, he is a spanish cock sucker who would if given the choice to defend Spain or defend his own country, he would choose spain and betray his people. I saw his comments, he made a lot stating how he favors and wishes we were under Spain control even more, I even saw a comment saying he wishes there were more mestizo than natives, he is a bumbling idiot.

  • @ThtOnePinoy i also want spain to be under control!and i wish there were more mestizos....and whats wrong with that?i love both countries so im not an idiot

  • fuck the spanish... lol imagine if they didnt colonize us for that long... maybe we develop our country more so many lost times... and erase our true identity

  • @franzken If not Spain probabaly watak watak ang Island natin because hindi pa tayo country, mga tribo lang remember Chinese limahong twice invaded Luzon Island but was repelled by Joint Spanish Pilipino, so maybe ang Luzon nasa China,at ang Mindanao maybe sa iba , Spain united our Island , see all churches from North to Mindanao,, at during that time no single country na develop pa noon na kapit bansa natin, but most important thing we have GOD, we are still Filpino ,by languages ,culture

  • the spanish introduced an organized religion with a WHITE GOD. The very simple reason kung bakit tinitingala natin ang mga puti, whites, caucasians. This is the same reason why pinoys are so super HOSPITABLE to white foreigners.

We learned to bow down to a white God, and in some way, that humility towards a white God, resulted to humility towards whites by virtue of racial association.

  • @ihp0ts

I think you got it all wrong.

Christianity, as far as I know, does not talk of a White God. If anything, it talks of the Son of God, a Jewish man, by the way.

Islam, which was being imposed all over the Philippines, even by force, also comes from far away lands, so why is that religion better?

  • @RafaelMinuesa not any of the abrahamic 3 religions are any better, all are breeding grounds for hatred, ignorance and divine-consented violence. You see, middle eastern Jesus maybe, he is still depicted as White God. Filipinos doesnt know the difference. Especially catholics. All they know is Jesus is God and Mary is the mother of God.

Thats the problem. However correct you maybe, the above statement is the reality in the philippines

  • @rafaelminuesa your using the united nations to argue your point the U.N. didnt even exist back then , and everyone knows the U.N. is a fuking joke its a propaganda machine . OECD twist informations all the time to help their bankers. Get a clue why because your clueless .

  • The native population of Mexico and the rest of South America did not want Spain to leave, it was the criollos, who later denied any rights to those natives.

Spain or the Catholic Church, as opposed to other religions, never forced anyone to worship. It was the task of the Church to convince the locals of embracing Christianity, never impose it, as disposed in the "Ordinances Concerning Discoveries", of 1573.

  • @unknownkid2 and rafaelminuesa seem to think philippines were better under spainish rule , well how come other countries they ruled like mexico wanted them to leave , also spain give no rights to philippines forced them to worship their way etc. also they never promised to give independace to phil, but america did promise and kept its word and even now in 2010 we give 2.4billion dollars to help phil how much did spain give ?????? you got your history wrong on all accounts !!!

  • @saint27573

It isn't what I think, it's what the United Nations and the OECD say, that the Philippines was the 2nd richest place in Asia at the end of Spanish rule (1899-1900). During the 1920s, after it was extensively destroyed and about 20% of its population massacred, it was partly rebuilt, but it never regained the same levels of GDP and prosperity.

  • @RafaelMinuesa nice try at rewriting history just because you want something to be true doent mean it is . and another shocker for you the vikings were in americas long before columbus was . dude the spanish might have got here first but they traveled down south but the british settled what is now know is the east coast of usa .

  • @saint27573 RafaelMinuesa is right. The Spanish controlled more American territory than the British. Most of the current territory of the United States where Spanish and NOT British. The only part of the current United States that Britain colonized was the East coast of North America excluding Canada.

  • Spanish is not a people or a place but an eternal thought in the mind of God. God Bless the Philippines.

  • Filipinos SUFFERED so much during Spanish Period.

    :-(

  • @goodgolddigger how much more now? i think 4 me phils. was richer back then during the spanish period, phils. has the oldest edifice in Asia, beautiful archetictures, sadly some was ruined during the 2nd world war...

  • Im a fiIipino! i Iove spanish! my middIe name is spanish.. Iong Iive spain!

  • 333yrs colonizacion what happened? WHy did Spain Sell Philippines to the U.S?

  • @nil1230

  • @nil1230 The Age Of Colonialism was over,Europe had no power left to control its colonies. So when a new power like the American Empire came,Spain was outmatched. The USA forced Spain to relinquish sovereignty to America,it's all a larger scope of America thinking itself superior to Latin culture..a left over mind set from when America was a colony of England.

  • @TheShadowParliament

    Wrong in all accounts.

To start with, United States was a Spanish colony, not British. Almost 70% of the USA were Spanish, and less than 10% British, so the mindset was Spanish, if anything.

The British never set foot in California, for example, and that is the richest state, with a population of more than 40% Hispanics,

Second, the US-Spanish War was a creation of Hearst, who lied to the American people.

  • FILIPINOS HAS a mix culture AND RACES ... spanish, american, chinese, japanese, elsewhere .

  • idiot, phiiippines was occupied by spain,.. so there is a spanish influence/. but not anything more culturaly.

  • @alamkogagoako

    Not anything more culturally?

And how do you explain for example, that the Philippines is over 90% Catholic?

How about Flores de Mayo? Sinulog? Pintaflores? Parada ng Lechon? Kinabayo Festival? Black Nazareno? Chavacano? Semana Santa? Todos Los Santos? Pasko? Chorizo? Dulce de leche? Empanadas? Ensaymadas? Escabeche? Flan? Galletas? Tortas? Tocino del Cielo? Lingua de Gato? San Miguel? etc, etc, etc ...

  • @alamkogagoako even your family name must be spanish

  • @naturalbeaful not all Filipinos have Spanish last names. Only about 2% have any spanish blood at all. That means genetically 98% cannot claim any Spanish ancestry. Some Filipinos have last names that are of Malay origin, while others have last names of Chinese origin (such as my family). A Filipino having a Spanish last name does NOT necessarily mean that individual is of Spanish ancestry. Spanish had forced Filipinos to change their "indigenous" last names to "Christian (Spanish)" names.

  • @rfillmor: correction 3% of filipinos have spanish blood

Have some respect! We are a nation in Southeast Asia who happened to be conquered by the Spanish. I am proud that we are NOT hispanics!
