i have turbinates enlargement and my septum is not streight thats why i cant breath properly...my life uncomfortable bcos i have this..very difficult to breath i want to be ah normal people
Im in day four of recovery. First three days, you will be on a pain killer like percocet, and will have to use two nasal sprays. One for clearing your nose, and the other for dried blood reduction. You also get an antibiotic topical gel, as well as an oral capsule (3 total per serving). Basically, every 6 hours, I would remove my nasal bandage, use the two sprays, apply the antibiotic, put a new bandage. Go take two percocets with three capsules antibiotic. And SLEEEEEEP. :D
Remember to see an allergist before attempting turbinate surgery. Those with nasal or sinus issues are recommended to try neilmed sinurinse for at least 3 months before an considering an operation. A complication called EMPTY NOSE SYNDROME MAY OCCUR AS A RESULT OF SURGERY!!
mine are coming out in a few days can't wait to BREATHE GOD FUCKING DAMN ITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
You'll have to ask a doctor for a detailed version of the first answer but they basically straighten your septum out!
You'll feel okay, depending on how anesthesia works for you. I wasn't able to eat for the first day because of it. Also, your nose is packed up with stuffing and for three days you can only breathe out of your mouth. You'll get used to the packing after the first day though, and when it comes out, it feels great. The splints come out 7 days later.
Recovering was bad for the first day only. My breathing got better over a month. Now both nostrils work. However, I had other problems and they couldn't all be solved with this. Just this week the same surgeon took out my tonsils and adenoids, he also did a cleaning and expanding of my sinus cavities. Definitely see an ENT, and have him use the scope on you. I'd get the surgery if I were you, but you might have to get other surgeries to be able to breathe perfectly.
its not that bad man. ive had it done twice (ex gf bumped my nose 2 weeks after the surgery and my surgeon didnt put splints in), this is my first day after the second surgery. Its totally worth it. The pain isnt bad at all. Make sure you get a good ent though. one who uses splints!

Hey man I have a severely deviated septum.
I wanna get this surgery done.
Breathing problems and everything.
Had this since I was about 12.
I'm 19 now.
What exactly do they do during the procedure?
How did you feel after?
Did recovering suck?
Is your breathing a lot better?
