Hip hop truly was beautiful back then. People brought out the meaning which was to express themselves through music and life experiences. Hip hop has indeed hella changed but not everyone is like fake ass lil Wayne. hip hip is not bitches and Hoes. They're still true Rappers but mainstream REFUSES to let their voices be heard! Fuck the industry!
A true story about the struggle, not bullcrap about how much money you're making. That's what Hip Hop used to be, a way to tell your story to the masses. Those days are long gone.
I believe that hip hop today got ruined by wiz wayne n other fags who cant spit flow as good as the old days. My fav rapper who still on top is eminem n idgaf if hes white he still lyrical than wayne n wiz put together. Those fags right there rockin skinny jeans make hip hop fall apart today in my fuckin opinion. I want the old school hip hop back not this new so called music full of shit!!
@ShAySlim130 I almost completely agree. However, there are some really good artists today. You just have to find them because they aren't as popular as the bad ones. Some of my favorite artists right now are XV, Yonas, Macklemore, etc. Don't know them? Look them up. People like them are preserving hip hop for me and one day the good will rise again.
@Mcdiesel32 i heard of him and he's lame to the game just like lil wayne his fuck buddy fake daddy he kiss birdman and lil b so get off wizkhalifa dick he's garbage nigga
@KendoMatsushima of course the man had mad skills and everyone knew where to come for a hot track. Gotta be the biggest legend ever. I don't know a single soul that would talk ill about Dilla. He loved music and music loved him so anyone that knows music is in music and does music does Jay dee loves jay and is loved back. and by music of course I'm talking about that real sht that opens your mind body n soul n really gets u learned. lets u experience something thru anothers words.
all the top lyricists - Big Daddy Kane, Tribe Called Quest, Del, Souls.of.Mischief, Pharoahe Monch, Chuck D, Masta Ace, Kool G Rap, Blackalicious, ....&more...
I heard this on New York Undercover the other day.... Brought me back 2 when Hip Hop had a message instead of alterior motives. When lyricism reigned supreme!
I can hardly describe what songs like that make me feel but i guess some of it is a mix of love for the music (hip hop) and life ,feeling small in a big world, admiration for artists like the pharcyde,a tribe called quest etc. who can make me feel like this
with lyrics, beats and flows like this...but ShAySlim130 said it best ;)
this song is one of the reasons why i love hip hop so much.i tear just thinking about how beautiful it truly was & that it doesnt really exist anymore(im a female so dont call me a punk)...in the meantime im sticking to my pharcyde,2pac,nas,big,tribe called quest & the others who brought somethin epic to hip hop...peace.
@ShAySlIm130 What started originally as an incredible cultural movement turned into the mess we have now. I admit, I still listen to the new hip-hop but it's just never the same.
its just movement, changing in taste changing in culture. people are all about themselves these days, whos repping what and who got more of dis dat, whos getting paid and how much weed they smoking. shit like that only works in two ways, you hate on em, or you like it, i dont do either, but what i do, is get up on the current undergroud scene. cant stay living in the past otherwise those who actually got skill/talent never see the light of the day/\
@imahustlababii I absolutely agree with you.And believe me I'm keeping up with current artists still delivering true hip hop like Lupe ( im a big fan of his). There's a lot of others too we just gotta keep up with it.
@ShAySlIm130 I'm 2 months late agreeing with you,but then that's a timeless point you've made! It hurts me to the core of my being thinking of what was......and what it is.The era of legends have passed into the mists of time, leaving us with joyful memories of the passed, and cursing the present for the lack of innovation, and the shear lack of intellectual application.

@ChaChing86 Not really, I'm 43. However I spend a lot of time listening to the older CDs in my collection or classic rock on the radio so some good ish slips thru the cracks!
@xWiredTx u say a change something does not make a different?
It´s like the Goverment of USA, Hip-Hop does do what it want, and it will never be that what u want to be it.
fu mainstream, push the individual Artists and it will be more creative, and not more like a moron musik for people who dont care what they listning to.
I get kinda sick of ppl who complain that hip hop is dead...cuz no ones makin good music nowadays well you knwo what? MAKE IT HAPPEN- make that shit yourself. Who do u think writes these songs & create these beats that you can listen to 12 years later and the shit still sounds hot? Regular ass ppl like me and you. who creates the songs that play on the radio and a month after it comes out your already tired of that shit? The Media (to an extent) ...
@physic4lgraffiti I'm already on that path my friend- my issue is just a matter of how far I can go. what I'm sayin is that if I can get up & go to a studio make a few tracks ANYBODY can. Im not sayin my tracks are the best, hell no. But point is even a wack track is better than a track that hasnt even left the brain yet. Let alone at least one that has made it to notebook paper
@REIGN131 its true man but ya gotta have talent to do dat shit, i mean u look at da people that go on thoes american idol show some think there good but they dnt mkae it, u gotta have that real talent man like a gift but i no wat u mean muziik dees days is bad, just commerical shit that dies down in afew months or a yr.
Ah the good 'ol days where rap had something more to say than how bitches crawl due to the sweat on one's ball or how all those other Shady's are just imitating.
@mariotaz they even dare to say that all hip-hop is going about gangsta, girls/ho's, money.
Like everything, I always come up with: listen to the Pharcyde. Like not all hiphop is about that, that's just what snitch50 made of it and a couple of others. First it was all lyrical and just a jazzy beat. Now it's popular and electronical shizzle, that's what u get when what's hip goes to mainstream/popular. That's all I have to say for now :) waiting for an answer, pm's are fine as well.
Yeah good points there. But all this mainstream hip hop (Now) is about the 'gansgsta' stuff and I don't wanna hear it. But you(Not you specifically) can sit there and bitch about 'Metal Rocks/Hip Hop rocks etc' at least for people like I me I can enjoy both. Sometimes it's just as simple as turning your TV off and looking up good songs.
Everyone has their tastes and some people just like bitterness : )
@mariotaz Aye, the world is bitter. The further u come into popular, the bitter it gets.
Like hollywood, little girls now act like most girls (literally) act in the movies.
It's just like, yeah I don't know what to do anymore so I start watching TV and see what happens.
I miss the lyrical 1990.
And yes everyone has their taste, but it's no reason to bitch music off while you can't even say good names to bitch off. It's like a war which won't end.
What the hell ?! 114.169 Views on this epic song ? I am really disappointed ! This motherfucking main stream shit Lady Gaga shit displace real music :(
This is real Rap, not that gay shit today.

Im not sayin my tracks are the best, hell no. But point is even a wack track is better than a track that hasnt even left the brain yet. Let alone at least one that has made it to notebook paper

hip hop is not dead...
but just below the surface
underground in hibernation
-a covert preparation for a more overt action according to Ralph Ellison the author who wrote Invisible Man..

Tensorskills 1 year ago
@Tensorskills
Everyone has their tastes and some people just like bitterness : )
mariotaz 1 year ago
@mariotaz Aye, the world is bitter. The further u come into popular, the bitter it gets.
Like hollywood, little girls now act like most girls (literally) act in the movies.
It's just like, yeah I don't know what to do anymore so I start watching TV and see what happens.
I miss the lyrical 1990.
And yes everyone has their taste, but it's no reason to bitch music off while you can't even say good names to bitch off. It's like a war which won't end.
Ppl must just listen to the tunes and stfu.

@Tensorskills
Well that's what happens when things become commercialized, they turn into shit.
Thank god breaking has not been commercialized. The day when people start bboying to souljah boy will be the day I go on a shooting spree.
