  • @facetha miyakatuli-tulik ka

  • Well, I like this video as a beginner and all the information was good advice. Thanks for the video!

  • Thanks I just decided today I was going to go for it!!

  • thanks for the help

  • is he saying you have to look the part?

  • @usmc1262 well it will make it easier and help with transitions :)

  • Thanks for the video. Doing my first sprint tiathlon in the summer and I need all the guidance and tip I can get :)

  • Ok so I'll probably get shot down as another respondent did but I think some of the comments in the video are false "advertising" for the sport. Maybe it's a different game over the Atlantic but here in Scotland "looking the part" is the last thing people worry about at their first competition. We run numerous beginner and novice triathlons where the emphasis is not on expensive gear but enjoying the experience. The atmosphere is friendly and helpful, not elitist.

  • @lolitalaser Nothing wrong with "looking the part," especially for someone that has put in the training. It can help the first-timer with a little extra confidence when he/she shows up at their first race and walks into transition. A nice bike, great shoes, expensive wetsuit, and cool tri shorts will not make up for a lack of training, but if the training has been done, the athlete's performance will be enhanced by "looking the part."

  • Thumbs up for another positive comment!!!!!! :)

  • he def is a nice guy but such basic advice, unless ur extremely slow common sense will tell u everything he does

  • @oweneoin Unfortunately, Common Sense is the least common of the senses. I've seen many newbie triathletes at races who didn't have even the most basic idea of what they were doing. It's especially common in the Swim, but I've also seen it on the Bike and even the Run. And don't even get me started about Transition!

  • good advise just looks a like nervous but very good advise.

  • I know what he ment by "look the part". I did my first tri back in '97. I was already nervous. Then there I am standing there waiting to swim, I'm wearing regular swim trunks, and everyone else is in a speedo. I felt more out of place and more nervous. I think that is very good advice!

  • I'm always amazed at how negitive some people are! He's just a nice guy trying to give some helpful info.

  • Not really. He actually has some sound, basic advice. Thanks for the video.

  • I am a young teenager and is there any early trianning i cold be doing why im young
