I love your videos; i am trying to learn asl selftaught and maybe when i have learned enough i`ll start enrolling in classes. The music in the background for this video, what song is that because i dont think i have ever heard a more beautiful sound!
That is cool. My one year old just sat next to me the entire time I watched this and started moving her hands about. So cute. Your daughters beautifull.xx
Gorgeous! We taught our niece 'Honey' she is now 18months ,to sign language, I thought that it would stop her from speaking... I WAS So wrong... her speaking is incredible the baby sign language helps them communicate so much in the early stages!
It's cool that you taught your baby to sign :3 I however want to point out some slight nuances in your signing... "eat" is touched once as a verb, twice as a noun "food", and "more" is touched once as well, because touched twice it is read "kissing". I know that this doesn't matter when it is communication between a child and parent, but I just wanted to let you know (:
I will teach my children sign. I have a friend who did this, and the baby is a teenager now and they still remembers the signs it sticks with them, my friend calls it Intelligent Parenting. Its a great alternative to "What do you want??" "Why don't you go to sleep??" lol
Dont worry about the haters, that sees your page, there's always someone that disagrees..
omg how did you do it my baby just tuned 1 and she says a few random gugu gagas but i want her to learn words and different languages like me. your 1 year old is fantastic.

DD is 5 1/2 mos, and I am starting to sign with her now so she can start to recognize signs with the words and actions ... so far, i've learned Mommy, Daddy, Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt, Uncle, drink, milk, apple, water, kiss, i love you, baby, all done, more, bath, cookie (which is more for me than her right now). I can't wait to see if she starts using the signs too!
Such a cute baby and an amazing work!! This video shows how helpful a signing language is!! I also LOVE the song, can somebody please tell me the name? =)
My son is three and he has a language disorder and only has a vocabulary of around ten words so we are trying to teach him to sign so thanks for this video it is good to know that it is possible. I have to learn the signs so that while they are teaching him in school I will also know what he is learning.
Wow. I'm not deaf but I'm pretty fluent in American Sign Language and I know what bed is in Russian Sign Language. Lol. :) But that's so adorable! She's so damn cute asking for water. Very brilliant teaching your kid that. =3
Wow, that is amazing. She is a very smart baby. Knowing sign language can open up so many opportunities when she is older too. Your a brilliant mother. She is a very lucky child. Well done. xxx
@bubbleball67 Yes, she would tell me what she wanted. I just 'quizzed' her like this to show people the signs she knew. But in everyday life she would just communicate her needs to me this way.
well im in 6th grade and im teaching my self sign language and i have a cuple of deaf friends now in 8th there names r jordan which is a make a j with ur pinky and put a o on ur chest
@sandmgilbert thanks! There is a link to an article I wrote about how to sign with your baby on my channel page. That will tell you how to teach a baby sign language.
@EpicBacon no, i was a teacher and used it in my classroom. I came across a lot of studies that talked about the benefits of using sign language with babies. I always knew I would teach my baby. It can really help to reduce their frustration because they can easy communicate their needs to you.
Im 10 years old and your baby girl makes me wana have mine a little early :P I'll teach my baby sign language when i have them for sure!!! It must be incredible to be able to communicate with your child at such an early age when so many other moms are having trouble trying to understand their babies...God bless your family!
@Meme1700ss what do you mean? And then does she talk or and then does she continue to sign? The answers to both of those are yes. Check out some of my other videos that show her progress.
We taught my little brother some sign language before he could speak. We didn't use quite as many words, but he knew more, hungry, thirsty, milk, cookie, ball, please, (he never did get the hang of thank you, but then again, most tots don't), momma, daddy, and all done. It was very nice to be able to communicate with him even when he was only a few months old.
Who is this cutie? She is adorable and I can already tell that she has a bright future ahead of her. Who could dislike this? It's amazing how you taught her to sign at a young age, she is very smart. I'm a beginner in ASL. It's a very unique talent:) What was the reason you started signing? What do you think of it?

she is adorable. I couldnt make out certain signs she made but her mother could...OF COURSE....Like we say,,,only a mother would understand.....right on!
thatz amazing! my son is 16 months and doesnt speak a word but he makes up signs to express what he wants. I wonder where can i find books or dvds to teach me and my baby this language I would love to achieve what you and your daughter have so wonderfully got.
