  • amazing

  • someone else break the world record so we dont have to watch this shit quality..

  • @sharpshooterx4 When a new undetectable drug comes out that can dramatically enhance your performance (like EPO in the 90's), then we will see this record fall

  • 2.07 "look at them drawing clear now, leaving the athletes behind them floundering"

I wish I could flounder at 56s/lap pace

  • Comment removed

  • So, Did he ever try to actually his own time? or could he not manage it?

  • I know its not usain bolt but thats who he looks like

  • Usain bolt at 0:28??

  • fast paki..

  • 17 4:09? who gives a shit Kevin Sullivan ran 3:54 at 14

  • @boy720 stop trying to copy shishkabob50 comment.. its not cute and nobody is gonna like it so get off bitch

  • @Jeremiahking101 Who's comment am I copying? I thinks its fucking lame you guys go on these videos talking about how fast you apparently run. Shut the fuck up and actually do something, If you guys were really that good you we would know of you by now.

  • to beat a world record obviously he trained and was determined like crazy... but those at the top were born with something special

  • I am sorry but Guerrouj has a giant head.

  • The Moroccans are notorious dopers! hahahahahaha

  • someone else break the record so we dont have to watch it in this shit quality:/

  • which pixel won??

  • A man is breaking a most fundamental World Record; which makes it one of the most significant. And the stadium is empty... while mediocre, historically irrelevant, overpaid fools throw and kick balls in packed arenas... as a result, true sport is the loser.

  • im 6ft3 1/2 inches tall and 17 years old

  • @drastaify Okay. lol

  • @drastaify Congratulations

  • he's just amazing!

  • i can do it in 8 minutes... oh shit he's fast

  • He averaged under 55 seconds per lap. If he could hold that pace for just another 100m then he could break 3:40.

  • I run a 5:11 mile. Atleast I'm honest. I'm shooting to get 4:59. Hopefully.

  • Dang why couldnt they have let him just run 100 more meters and knock out 2 records in one go? lol =P

  • It's funny how after Geurrouj all the runners are Kenyan.

  • Jesus Christ can we just watch the video without having people telling us their times, good for you if you can run a 4 min mile and ur still a fetus but this is the wrong place to do so try a running forum or something

  • so......incredible..Guerrouj runs a 206 second 1500m....divide that by 15 means running every 100m in 13.8 sec which is amazing.some of my friends cant even run a 15 second 100m yet this man can do it faster and 15 times

  • my best time is a DNS beat that biatch! XD

  • OH YEAH Im 1 year old and i did this in 12 seconds

  • I ran a 1500 in 3:21 in middle school as a 12 year old.

  • @Loltroll551 youre a fucking idiot

  • @Loltroll551

yeah, and then you wake up and say sorry to Hicham

  • @Loltroll551 your an idiot thats what you are..

  • @ms61391

Correction: *You're* (referring to ms61391) an idiot.

  • OMG, far out that's fast. My PB is 4:34, I'm 14. More training I guess. I can't beleive people can endure that.

  • @laminatedcheesecake Nobody cares faggot.

  • LMAO now everyone is a miler. A bunch of faceless people posting irrelevant times. Who the fuck cares. When they make videos of you morons running record 1500's then I'll be impressed. Hicham is a L E G E N D!!

  • lol im really slow! i did the 1500m in 7:13 :P

  • Hicham el STEROIDS. Good job competing before we could test correctly for EPO!! Give back your golds, like Ramzi you cheat.

  • Man, you are a retard! I dare you to release your complaints to the IAAF, you scumbag. The IOC could detect epo since 2000 and EPO is not a steroid, but you're full of it. Just SHUT UP!!!

  • @YiftertheShifter1 A training partner of El Guerrouj was caught at EPO abuse in 2007. Don't be a fool, please.

  • @centrum99 Adil Kaouch? That he's a compatriot does NOT mean that he's a training partner. There's a big difference. Adil Kaouch displayed the inconsistency of a doper, hardly a big name (best result was 9th in the Olympics) before taking second in 2005 WCs/ World XC, and beating world class fields. El G consistently dominated the 1500 for almost a decade. Until any real proofs exists, he deserves the benefit of the doubt.

  • Fuck ur fast what's ur workout to get that fast haha

  • bitch i run 00:59 and im 3 years old!

  • Yeah I'm 1day old and I run a 1500 in 2min flat I just started running yesterday i'm trying to get 12seconds

  • i did it in 9.26 secs

  • Who gives a flying fuck what your PB is in 1500m? Half of them are shit, fuck off and go train some more if your actually runners.

  • No doubt, British commentary is the best.

  • i hate these people who post their PBs (personal bests). why don't you post a video of your arrogance here.

  • yo fuck the 1500 its all about the mile

  • @frostie1315 Outside of British and American high schools the mile seems to be losing relevence by the day unfortunately. 3:26.00 is equivilent to a 3:42.27 btw.

  • im 12 and i run 5:03 and im getting faster

  • @conorfay100 bitch i run 4:20 and im a freshmen, oh and i started running a year ago

  • @conorfay100 I am 12 and i run 4:47

  • the 1500 is kinda of an awkward distance...i personally think the 1600 makes more sense....

  • @frankkalani

    you're retarded

  • you're jealous.

  • cara essa prova e muito fodaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • mate the kid who won nationals 2009 down in tasmania (whose from vic) in the u/18 age group is getting 3:46 and you think your times are solid

  • @tblakey12 hey it's canada !

  • 17 years and 4:09? 12 years and 4.43? thats nothing!!! i know a guy named Hicham El Guerrouj that could run a 3:26

  • @shishkabob50 really 17 years old running 4:09 daley thompsons time was 4:25

  • im 17 and my PB is 4:09

and I've been a top contender in ofsaa in canada but holy shit 3:26 unreall !

  • @17shane u running this year

  • just about a minute to go until i've got this record... yeah that's not happening any time soon

  • I've got the same problem ..

  • cant touch geb

  • my mate is 15 and runs 4.12

  • I am 16 and i do 4:15 =)

  • 14 and 4:56 ;D

No doubt, though, 4:15 is talented... My school's top runner is at 4:26 as a sophomore (going to be a senior) and got 5th in EBAL. Good luck with your progression :)

  • @TwoThirdsPi im a freshmen and i run a 4:21...soo yeah

  • エルゲルージ選手はどんなにキツくても表情を変えることなく走り続ける強い精神力を持っていますよね^^

    1500mという短い距離で2位に4秒以上も差をつけてしまうのは凄すぎる・・^^;

  • NO CARES ABOUT YOUR TIMES PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is about Guerrouj not you! If you did run that then we would know who you are!!!!!

  • @dc3rvant3s not necessarily

  • @jiggyfool69 Sixth graders running sub five minutes times? Yes necessarily.

  • @dc3rvant3s actually no. because thats not hard to do

  • @jiggyfool69 For highschoolers and professional athletes no. But for sixth graders yes.

Let me guess you're 12 and can run a 3:50 mile right?

  • @dc3rvant3s no but im sure its been done

  • @41rukahscaput

... wow. Just wow. I don't think that's worthy of a response; other than this one. :p

  • i run a 4:56 mile , so about a 4:39 mile, and im a sixth grader. But JAKE09GY, thats still a great time!!

  • My PB (Personal best) at the 1500m is 5:00, I broke the school record! :D

1500m is my event i do in athletics.

  • u suck at running dude give it up

  • Fuck off m8, that in young athletes league is actually a fast record n why the fuck should I giv up running, u cant fuckin dictate me bout wiv my athletics career u twat!

If u don't believe me, phone my running coach or my grandad they'll tell ya,so get on that one ya cunt!

  • you know that 5:00 isnt a time to be proud of...

  • If your time used to be 6:30 for 1500m and now it's 5:00 it's something to be proud of, idiot.

  • yeah, but i'm sure that his time wasnt 6:30 before i mean i run a 1500 in 5:15 and i know it's bad so i dont post this time on videos to if you run a 4:30 or under that, than it is a good time

  • Good point m8, u tell em!

Of course it's something 2 be proud of, these twats don't even think so...

They think i should giv up running cos I only got 5:00, well I'm only 13 so what do u expect?

  • Yeah, but how many years experiance u had though?

I've only bin running since last year in october, so what do u expect? :/

  • BTW, ur 16 not 13 cos I've checked ur profile.

  • no one cares....

  • Well that's a good time 4 my age cos I'm only 13, so what do u expect?

  • dude u suck.. give up

  • Fuck off, you've never seen me runnin m8!

How the fuck do u know how good I am?

    Twat...

  • dude u just suck.. dont run

  • Do u wanna shut up b4 I fuckin report ya 2 youtube cos this saying "I suck at running" getting me down now n I'm not gonna fuckin take it anymore.

I've got aspergers syndrome n I've only started running since october last year, so be easy on me.

Whoever makes one more comment bout me will be reported!

  • dnt listen to them m8 that is above average for most people keep it up

  • @JAKE09GY please tell me you go to a school with 20 kids in each grade or something

  • waw bravo hicham le roi des rois

  • wow...did you see his stride on that last lap? That was awesome!

  • I do quite a bit of running and I got 3rd In New Zealand for my age group and this is inspiring for me so thanks for putting it up

    Cheers

  • turn my swag on haha

  • my name is riley.

  • El Guerrouj is the greatest middle distance runner ever, maybe with an exception of Paavo Nurmi but in this day and age Hichams got it

  • Was this early/late on in Noah Negny's career when he wasn't a professional runner? even if this is true he came second (I think) and nearly broke 3:30 after setting the pace for alot of the race - which suggests that he mabye should have competed for the win.

(sorry about all the questions but id really appreciate it if someone could answer some or all of them.)

  • 4) This was early in Ngeny's career, a full year before his great race with El Guerrouj and two before his Sydney victory.

    5) His job in the race, what he was paid to do, was to be a pacesetter

  • Just one more question - was that Noah Ngeny setting the pace until the final lap? If so why didnt he compete to win instead of acting as a pacemaker - he was another great runner over 1500/1 mile (he might be second fastest behind El Guerrouj in one or mabye both of the all time list and is the fastest ever man over 1000m)

  • 1) Pacemakers have been used in Grand Prix races, i.e. Roger Bannister's sub-4 minute mile. Having somebody to follow is a psychological advantage from running at the front of a race the whole time.

    2) Wind resistance may very well factor into fatigue of the front runner, which could be 1.5 times that of the trailing athlete.

    3) I'm not sure why Ngeny was pacing, but he entered Rome 1999 with a PB mile of 3:50 before following El Guerrouj to second in 3:43"39.

  • To 3) The time of Ngeny was 3:43.40 in Rome, which would be also a world record, if he wasn´t second.

  • I cant really see how cutting out what little wind resistance you would have running in a stadium at that speed would have that much difference. Is it because you dont have to worry about the pace that much and can just mentally switch off when your running behind someone?

  • El Guerrouj was a great runner over 1 mile and 1500 metres - even when taking into account genre, type of track etc. he might still be the best. A few questions though - it seems that the pacemakers did alot of the work in alot of his records - did previous greats have this much help - and just how much help is it? is running at the front/on your own really that much harder than running behind someone?

  • Just look at Jashaun Agosto 11 year old kid, on here. can do a mile in under 4.50

  • i'm 16 and i do 4:36. But i'm nothing special. been training twice a week for 2 months, anyone can run sub 4:30 if they worked really hard at it.

  • When i was 16, i was a 800m runner. pb 1.52.72 800m, 49.00 400m The only official 1500m i have as i never got to run the 1500m in comp was 4.12 in a club u15 match.

im 23 now, Only had 3 races after my 800m pb, Got bad back injury, miss athletics loads.

  • my 1500 is a 4:43...i'm 15

  • dude u suck..

  • WHY do people brag about their times??? cmon man- go tell someone who cares

  • 3.26 is very fast

  • thanx 4 telling us that, we couldn't work out by ourself that a world record is a fast time.

  • dude, i was just saying.

Chill out, you dont have to be a bitch about it

  • i was just joking, settle down

  • yes he is one of the best sportsman that ever lived, sadly hell never get the full respect he deserves.

  • I'm 46 and my PR was 5.32, twenty years ago. Now I do it in 6.23, not bad, hum?

  • Man so far my pr is at 4:54 (as of me at 13). Guerrouj is like my hero though thats all because of training. He runs evey day twice a day

  • PB buddies!!!

  • 5 minutes-- 8th grade

  • 4:53 sec in 8th grade but thats still damn good

  • woooww that was amazing, my best record was 3:59 when i was in high school. Is a very hard test. I think the record of him will stay for a long time.

  • dude im 13 and I ran my 1500 in 4:22

  • You're either a sensation or a liar.

  • no, that's totally believable. that's not THAT fast, although it is fast for a 13 year old... but even then not sensationally fast for that age.

  • Really? I'm a pretty experienced runner but maybe you're right Jack. I mean on a world stage 4 22 isn't that quick, but i haven't heard of/know any 13 year old kids hitting times like that.

  • im 12 and i run at 6.06 ...lol bad i know

  • My 1500 is in the 5 minute range; haven't checked it in a while. To think that someone can do it in 3:26 is amazing

  • greatest middle distance runner of all time
