I have the same tv. Never had a problem an been on the same lamp for 3 years . The sound is prolly the fan that cools the lamp down. I clean my tv every 3 months meaning take the lamp out carefully an keep it the same way it comes out anywho I used canned air an blew the shit out of it I had to wear a dust mask. Basically clean it once in awhile blow out every vent you see behind the tv an clean inside where the projector is at. Hope I help
i got a dlp mitsubishi and it had wavy purple lines on the screen took it apart replaced a shit load of caps put it back together and it worked fine but 2 weeks later i got this error if this helps the error code is 34. i think its on the power supply and it needs more caps replaced DO NOT REPLACE THE LAMP!!!! THE LAMP IS FINE
Just an FYI - I had the same thing happen on two different Mitsu DLP TVs - first one lasted 18 months, second one lasted a year. All other TVs (Samsung and Toshiba) are fine - thx for the advice and I'll go get a bulb to see if that works, but never buying a Mitsubishi again.
these tv's are lemons. my tv repair guy told me that he has an entire warehouse of these waiting to get fixed. Mitsu. knows this but are playing dumb. Be prepared to purchase a new lamp every 10-12 months. good news is they have come way down in price. you can get them for about 140 bucks now..
So you got a new lamp and it worked? Did you get a warning before it started acting like this? Mine just started doing the exact same thing. I've owned it less than a year now.
i just bought one of these used, turned it on when I got it home about 3 days ago, worked great. turned it on today and this is the exact problem i get, a new bulb will fix it right?
Oh, another thing. When my repair guy was working on it, I watched over his shoulder and saw the code to get the hidden menu which is cool if you like to tinker with your TV. I will post a video later or I can email them to you. You have to make sure and write down the original values before you change anything! You dont want to brick your TV.
Yeah, I wont buy another either. Well, at least not another DLP with a regular lamp. The new DLPs with the LED lamp and no color wheel have no moving parts so they should be ok i guess. The fix for my TV was to get a new lamp. You HAVE to get the Mitsubischi brand lamp! Do not get the generic one (even though it says Mitsu compatible) as it WILL fail on you. Mine did twice. With my new Mitsu lamp, its been working perfectly now. Your ins. will pay, if u complain enough, so dont settle! Good luck
I have the same exact problem. If you unplug it and then plug it back in (reset), it will just shut itself off after doing the fan speed changes a couple of times. Then the next time after that, it will do the same thing but the red light also comes back on. Have had nothing but trouble with the piece of crap since I bought it. Will never buy another Mitsubishit product, ever!

Hello, my green light keeps flashing after I reset it. Now what does that mean? It had a red light, now a flashing green.
