jorpbyngwiefan, I'm sorry about replying to your comment after 4 Months, but "Metal Gear" and "Snakes' Revenge" for the N.E.S don't count for the storyline. Hideo Kojima himself already confirmed that. The Metal Gear series actually started on the MSX2 Computer System.

@jorpbyngwiefan I don't know if someone has corrected you yet or not, but the NES versions of Metal Gear 1 and 2 are not really the true games. The actual games are on the MSX2 and can be played on Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence's second disc (if you can still find it, that is).

Metal Gear 1 on the NES is a butchered version, and Metal Gear 2 on the NES is COMPLETELY different game and it sucks. Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake is the true sequel -- play the MSX games.

Actually, no. Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2, and Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops are all canonical to the main story line. Sure, you don't have to play them. But it helps. The new PSP game, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker will also fit into the story line.

It downgraded most of multiplatform games of the last generation. A lot of people don't talk about this because they only had PS2 and they don't know anything about GC or Xbox and they overrate PS2.

2) They have more a detailed graphical capacitiy, but the PlayStation 2 had the ability to read DVDs, which is something that GameCubes cannot do. The DVD reader might be the reason PlayStation 2 consoles don't have much space for graphics and Memory.

3) Of course it's fake. Like I said, the best good looking game for PlayStation 2 is 'Shadow Of The Colossus'.

I think Hideo Kojima got that idea from someone (or someone) else. If I know Kojima's personality, he wouldn't have this kind of idea completely on his own. He must have had help.

'The Twin Snakes' added some good ideas and corrected some mistakes, but this kind of remake mis-represents the essence of the original version.

And the sneaking suit Snake uses in 'Super Smash Brothers Brawl' is not the same suit from the original game. I think it's the same suit from 'Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of liberty'.
