Rewatching it as an adult, I can't believe just how much they got away with! As said, there is a lot of innuendo and things that are down right rude - clearly they all just went over our heads as children! :D

If nobody did, SM:TV wouldn't have continued for a further two years. It was certainly not aimed as adults as much as it used to though, and MoM was definitely more aimed at kids under 10.

It would have continued for two years no matter what - they were under contract. The ratings halved after Ant & Dec left and again when Cat left; the last year was just reshowing old clips from the glory days ("SMTV Gold").

I kept watching it until Des and Shauvagn joined - I thought four presenters was too much. Tess and Brian were good though. There was also a time where there were four presenters before Cat left - Tess, Brian, Cat and some other bloke who was fired because of some scandal if I remember.

You must have been far more patient a viewer than I was - I took one look at "Eminemmerdale" and switched over to BBC1.

I don't actually remember much from SMTV tbh, watching these clips brings back the memory of watching the show, but soon after goes away. I wonder if this is why SMTV is not as fondly remembered as it should be (lol) but yeah some of the later sketches were not that good. Casually was funny and Brian's Brain was great as well. They also brought back Wonkey Donkey at one stage.
