If you engaged with us it could pass off just like any other large event such as Ascot or the Lord Mayors Show. Policing in other countries of the world such as Iran is much more brutal.
Why don't you climate campaigners just keep your mouth shut, the climate camp location was sent via mass text, to mobile phones, mobile phones which are charged using electricity that comes from power stations, power stations that are fueled by coal and gas and oil, you fu**ing hypocritical arseholes, if you really care, you wouldn't use so much energy and electricity organising this stupid event and making this idiotic self righteous video you bunch of hippy c**ts!
Stop the marches, labelling, shouting, and so on. Marching into an area that you do not know and have no continuing interest in and shouting whats right for that area is alienating and counter-productive. People do not like being told whats best fo...r them and will kick back against or simply ignore this sort of activity.
Think your efforts will make things "better" or a world that is how you want it? The word "naive" comes to my mind straight away - as do the words "no chance". Sorry
Ignore, for a moment, the politics of this particular protest and admire the self-organization and evolution of an activity with a great British tradition. Take responsibility for your own actions! The police "disruption" that you claim is only to prevent the nusiance that you cause to the everyday lives of people trying to go about their business. If you do did have an open policy on drugs and alcohol then maybe the police would not need to monitor you activity. And who pays the bill? The tax payer, which I am sure many of you are not.
Open policy on Drugs? I dont think I have heard any Climate camp organiser say that. Althought Police Officer Brian Paddock did that in brixton and oversaw an explosion in street crime inthat area. Then he was promoted. Go figure!
I shall spend the weekend burning tyres in my yard and lobbing car batteries into village ponds....that's my idea of direct action against socialist freeloaders..HaHaHaHa!!

Taser brilliant idea, still prefer tanks through, after all you only need five or six of them, and only 30 men to man them, cheap and effective and also friendly to the environment, after 5 tanks probably release less CO2 than transporting hundreds of police armed with Tasers, and charging those tasers have got to use up the old co2 allowance. You are all interested in protecting the environment after all, so I am sure you will support the method :).
Also Knowles - if you were sitting in a lab working on solving climate change, you would have noticed half of your workmates have tried to get holidays to attend the camp, as it is a place where ideas are exchanged and science and politics are discussed.
Your presumptions are so far off the mark, but they justify your own inaction so you will probably keep holding onto them right?

Then why do not they produce videos about theses, invite the police in, arrange for a council to host them, arrange for proper style stewards, publish a lists of events. Whole because the biggest reason is to cause disruption, vandalise property an generally do illegal things.

As to my own actions, I do everything I can to help the environment, volunteering to pick up litter, not using carrying bags, suggesting new ideas to local politicans, producing my own ideas, supporting low energy company and products. How ever attacking institutions and companies that are needed to change how our economy works and functions is not a good way to spur on change, it counter productive at best, just leads to crack downs at worst.
Knowles2 - you should come to the camp for a day, but that would be much harder than maintaining these easy stereotypes right? First off, the camp is hard work, there is no events management company putting up marquees and hiring catering companies, all the work is done by the camp attendees themselves, from the power generation, building and emptying of compost loos and feeding 2000 people x 3 a day. Everyone works damn hard, both at the camp and at their jobs for the rest of the year.
nice media video though I think some will not be impressed hint "Police " please have a safe protest and a PEACEFUL one.!! I would hate to see the" usual " police tactics should things turn out nasty

Really I find siting in a field to be a wast of time and people look like dead weight. I rather be sitting in a lab working on ideas to solves the problems we have in this world and to create new solutions to the challenges we face, rather than just complaing about it like these people seem to do all the time.
Ok then, Mr scientist - have you ever been to a conference regarding your subject? If so, did you see the value in being around people who are of similar approach to you? Or would you rather just stick to your lab, alone, trying to turn pointless snidery into something of value?
Carry on Einstein - meanwhile there's hundreds of people preparing for an event that will build bridges, increase cohesion and give those involved a strong feeling of involvement in something positive.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Build bridges with who exactly certainly not the police and certainty not the companies you will need to change, most likely from within and certainly not with commuters and residents of what ever area affected. And if you talking about bridges within the climate change lobby then you can do that without disrupting the general public, which is more likely to turn against the cause rather than join the cause. An yes I been to several conferences within my field of expertises,.
are you being deliberately obtuse or is this your usual approach?

hahaha well done to ye!!the best of luck-hope ye all have a wonderful time and the police have the cop on to see there is no need to police the event.

The Police are the pawns of those who want a Global Feudal Tyrrany, as is Brown and his Rottengovernment Cabal. Good video: Shame about the so called "Police" some of whom should be behind bars themselves.

How odd in a British democracy one has to get permission to protest, before protesting - this negating any ability to actually protest.
Welcome to neo-marxist domination by the free (ministers) over the penned in piglets in the slaughterhouse (the people).
