  • Religion disguised as "spirituality" is NOT the only way or the most successful approach. A professionally trained counselor and Cognitive Behavior Therapy worked for me where the 12-step program didn't. AA is fine if you actually believe that faith healing works. It's the 21st century, people. If you go to AA, notice the number of 1 day chips they give out and compare that to the number of 1 year chips they give out. The dismal "success" rate of AA is obvious.

  • @hanoitwin What does a folklore gotta do with believing in God? I see it all the time when a kid finds out they're is no santa they also thinks there is also no God but the difference is Santa is a way for parents to trick their childern into being good while God is something obscure and a necessity for existence.

    Theist Btw.

  • be careful who you fallow in aa, you have been alive long enough to know right from wrong right?

  • Damn I feel like a drink after that

  • I hate to tell you this my queen but the curcle and the triangle in it is a sighn of the secret scociety and the brotherhoods. You arte in a religion that is part of the Illuminati and the free masons. If you ad another tri. in the curcle and flip it 3 times and look at it side ways you are looking at the seal of the devil and the blessing from the pPope

  • AA Meetings = Religious cult

  • The Catho. church is a cult. and is part of the Illuminati. The pope is not god but many people think that he has a direct line to god in the pearly gates of heaven. but he is a thief and a lier of all lies. the movie davin. code explanes all about the evil empire of the viti

  • Has anyone heard of the Illuninati? The frree mason? Well there are many secret org. that are in the mold of the umbrella of a cult and a n underground org.

  • That meet place looks rather like a seady bar.I like that. With undergound room to somkoke smot as it was said in the Illuminaty! I am still wanting to confront a youtuber from UK as this person humil. me by calling mewe an aver average BOOZER! HE WILL BURN IN HELL FOR THAT! So UK!!! WE NEED TO TALK IF YOU ARE READING THIS. YOU BASTERD! YOU ARE THE ALCI> A CHEAP DRUNK. You are trolling aroung d you tube land like an in visible ghost!

  • @Richcool79 Actually we used to hold are meetings at an old bar called 'THE WHY GO BY"

  • @Kidkel69 /I like that. What do they drink at thgat bar? I like old musty bars it ads to the flavor . THAT IS GREAT! "The Why go by! BAM! SHAZAN!

  • @Kidkel69 my mom hung at that bar in the day, it was an 18 year old beer joint

  • @Richcool79 KIDKEL69 HERE AFTER RELAPSE SOBER 1 DAY! PRAISE THE LORD! JUNE 1ST 2010

    SORRY FOR BEING BAD EXAMPLE

HOPE YOU ALL STAY SOBER TODAY

    PRAISE THE LORD!

  • Been seeing a lot of 'AA bashing' lately - congrats - those days add up - Easy Does It

  • One of the Promises is "We will not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it."

So it appears your little meeting was MOTR. If sloganing your ass keeps you sober, get down. But me, I need a message that carries substance and weight.

Your past, especially the bad shit, holds the key to our future. Look at it, just don't stare.

  • @sirmcgowington That is very good advice @kidkel69

  • @Kidkel69 Hey Kidkel! Your vids rock! Good to finally meet you. It's been a while since you did some of these and I'm sort of new here.

    Nice to share the road.

  • Check out my raps!! They are AA inspired!!!

  • Check out my raps. I Rap about a lot of stuff to do with AA!! # out of 4 have to do with AA!! THANX!!

  • Love your hat.

  • Nice video.

"The Promises" We read them at our meeting. How many "promises" can you get? From anyone? Promises are rare. I can't think of ANYONE that makes promises - except AA. Years ago, when I first heard the promises, it sounded like BS, but slowly, as I stayed sober and began really living the program, I realized that the promises were REAL. My life has been TRANSFORMED by AA thinking and AA values.

  • Sobriety is very overrated. Responsible drug use can make your life a lot better. Drugs have given me some of the most interesting, enjoyable and inciteful experiences of my life. And bragging about sobriety is even worse. Congratulations, you can not do something. It's not that difficult to not do something, and if sobriety's really as great as you say why is it so hard to stay sober? Bragging about how long you can not do something is kind of lame.

  • i love AA meetings i have used for ten years and the longest period of sobriety is nine months. i went back out and came back in and now have almost four months. i am working on the fourth step with my sponsor. congratulations to everyone who stayed sober today. i love AA without it i would have surely died.

  • DON'T PUT IT IN YOUR MOUTH, LOOK AT IT AS FINGER NAIL POLISH REMOVER! LOVE THE HOPE CONGRADS! @kidkel69

  • Brett is full of poopy.

  • Very grateful to AA and the 12 steps I've been sober almost 13 years. AA saved my life!

Thank you for not showing the the meeting itself, or the people in the meeting.

And yes, SOBRIETY ROCKS! (And it rolls too!)

  • I am a confirmed recovering alchoholic with 24 years of sobriety stricly due to AA. They saved my life, I have a sponser and I sponser a few people. I will be forever greafull to AA. I am not the same person who I was 24 yrs ago. No blackouts, no puking all over, no insulting people, not living in shame, not hating everyone, etc. People make fun of AA and call it a cult but we are far from that. Our purpose, individually and personally is to help people. I saved my life for a dollar a meeting

  • AA is the reason I am alive also! Congrads on 24 and and another 24 to you!

  • How did you get confirmed?

  • Thank you for putting up a video that is a real reflection of AA, although its not long it still makes me proud to c that there r some videos that are not just mocking the AA fellowship. Im 15 and an Alchoholic, and i want to educate more people on the program....so right on thank u!

  • i was in AA at 13, but didn't stop until 30. You are lucky and smart. So happy and proud of you. You can help a lot of people.

  • Traditions 11 & 12. Read them.

  • just turn 31 going to stop drinking.. im trying to start a blog on here for AA poeple don;t now yet,, never stop drinking before i stop my drug uses but i don't smoke too. i drank everyday for 10 years. almost. but anyways bye.

  • Get that blog up, let me know and I'll publish. Best place Myspace and blog

  • This is a great message. Finally my sorry ass has been dragged in to the rooms. First time around meant nothing to me. Now prepared to accept my problem and face up to it, with all the bad bits as well.. Good luck to you. We all need a strong message.

  • It took me 20 years at the tables before , I changed people, places, and things!

  • One day at a time. Awesome for you to be so honest.

  • my mum was sober for four years couple weeks ago she started drinking again :) she dosent want to go an aa meeting like she used to or rehab =/ congrattttts thoo :) xxxx

  • I will pray for your mom.Find her AA books and tell her to read. She will get sober again, it is called a slip. Get her the books!

  • Tell her that AA is not the only way. AA does not fit everyone.

The important thing is finding PERSONAL recovery that works for the individual and NOT adhering to the rigid dogma of one particular recovery group.

Some need a more self-empowered recovery than the "powerless" recovery of AA. Contrary to popular belief, most people get sober without AA.

Other recovery groups include SOS, LifeRing, SMART, Rational Recovery, Women for Sobriety, and others.

If AA did not work for her after 4 years...

  • i have 5 years today

  • That is awesome!

  • cool!!,,i've been on the wagon 4 almost 3 years now too!!

  • Lots of sober YouTubers! Love it!

  • Thats awesome, chuntoon007

  • Excellent!! Rock on!

  • you rock

  • Thank You, i love hearing that!

  • Great message! Glad you have the will to stay sober. Now I know you're smart! I've got cirrhosis of the liver and the doctor ordered me to never drink alcohol again. I haven't been a heavy drinker for nearly 27 years but I was until I turned 26 years old. But now I can't even have that infrequent drink, but that's okay, booze just makes me sick anyway. Cheers! To the sober and the staying sober!

  • Good for you. I am glad your doing good.

  • Ahh but... Sometimes your the Windshield and Sometimes your the Bug!

Dang.. Where did I put that beer at anyways.. :)

    Laters!

  • SOBRIETY is SEXXXXY!

    Rocket

  • Good for you congratulations.

  • wow your great""

    Emma:)x

  • cool vid....:)

  • Congrats on three years! You'll probably get a few comments on the smoking. I don't understand why people call that a habit - it's an addiction, just like drinking, and just as hard to quit. Maybe even harder for some.

  • Much harder to quit then booze

  • Congrats on 3 years!

  • Congrats!

  • One day at a time KidKel.

I've spent countless hours at 12 steps with my Pops over the years , just chewing away at the edge of a styrofoam cup of coffee.
