the reason why he ended up having to use the reverses may be because his approach was a flaps-less one... so the aircraft was coming in too fast and too high...
Its at the pilots discretion if he/she wants to use spoilers. St Maartins runway is long enough that a pilot really doesnt have to use reversers to stop in time. Planes are tested to stop in a cobination of ways...Reversers and spoilers, reverses only, spoilers only or just brakes etc etc etc.
yeah JustPlane is right, dunno if ur European but if u fly with easyJet they rarley use reverse on their landings, because the runways are long enough,, and it doesnt take much to slow down the A319 and B737's
Here is a little advise. When you were landing you did not use enough flaps, inturn you had to be travelling at a higher rate of speed which is not good. Try using 30 to 45 deg. of flaps and a speed of about 140 - 145 knots when landing. Also you did not engage the spoilers to slow you down when you touch down, this is very important in the real world. Any way good video.

Use spoilers, they help you stay on the ground and help you slow down.
