  • I've never seen this one. I'm 44 and I still idolize Bob. Friend, father figure, he's everything and I'm forever grateful.

  • This word play is funny.

  • Luv Bob's xpressions 2 their jokes!

  • We don't have a community pool in my neighborhood. :\

  • and Luis. forgot about him.

  • :26 seconds in Bob tells her she's kinda cute. This was a little before my time, I remember the the older Bob, with Gordon, Linda, and David, Mr. Hooper was in his last year or two.

  • i've lived in my apartment for 3 years and the sex offender/convicted child rapist that lives 7 doors down in my complex has YET to introduce himself to me...

the people in your neighborhood man...

  • Okay, so where is this liberal bias that I've heard so much about?

  • dude this life gaurd muppet has boobs and he blew her whistle hahahahahah this shit was freaky

  • @Selenalsg At numerous times Bob gazes down at her rack and at one point she leans down and checks out Bob's bulge.

  • I remember being a little kids and seeing this exact episode

  • Is it just me or was the lifegurad really Kermit the Frog with a wig and without the green collar?

  • @gipnfdl007

I am as old as this show!

  • I miss this educational show., I hope it would show again to our future children

  • Oh my god. I'm 33 years of age and I'm sitting watching Sesame Street. Whats wrong with me?

  • @keithc1977

I do not think that there is nessasarrily anything wrong with you!

  • @keithc1977 Same thing that is wrong with me, and I'm 34!

  • @keithc1977

Nothing's wrong with you! I'm 42 and have never really outgrown Sesame Street. I continued watching it through my elementary school years and into adolescence, on days when I didn't have school or when Sesame Street aired after school. I was even watching it as an adult on days when I didn't have to work, until Sesame Street went downhill. I don't like today's Sesame Street very much.

  • I want Bob's Jacket !!

  • TOO. MANY. PUNS. argh!

  • @brandywinevalentine Hey! You can never have too many puns lol.

  • Remember, these jokes aren't bad to the children hearing them for the first time.

  • Like Jim's monotone voice here.

  • Has anyone got the song "In My Neighborhood" by any chance?

  • @Garrettk41 lol

  • This was the only song on Sesame Street that I couldn't identify with. Frankly, I could care less about the people in my neighborhood.

Although the carpenter in this video looks like a decent guy...I'd hire him to build something.

  • I guess Bob never knew anything about the wordplays in these segments until during the tapings. And I agree with Garrettk41 about the looks on Bob's face, only I think he's thinking "Who writes this stuff?" or as they say on The Electric Co., "Who's the dummy writing this show?"

  • I like it when bob winks at the end

  • The emotional thrill of rolling your eyes at so many puns...this song takes me back. Happy 40th birthday, Sesame Street!

  • According to Muppet Wiki, there's going to be a version of this on the upcoming "Forty Years of Sunny Days", and it'll be one from the eighth season. I only hope it isn't this one. I want one I'm not already familiar with, and there were at least five other versions that particular season.

  • WAS it the one you wanted on the DVD? (Elevator Operator and Pharmacist)

  • @ErnieandBert1 I like it just fine. I wasn't really particular about which it was as long as it was one I hadn't seen before.

  • Bob doesn't look too humored by the carpenter's joke about using lumber to make the bed. The look on his face suggests he's thinking "oh brother!"

  • Episode 951.

  • Man, I'm a sucker for a good bad joke.

  • Then you've hit the jackpot, 'cause there's about like seventeen of them in this sketch! XD

  • @Jbrangwynne53 There's 17 in about EVERY PIYN!

  • @MarshalGrover

    Who isn't?

  • Very nice and funny.

  • i cant help but leaugh anytime Jim uses that voice

  • Okay! Another version of my favorite Sesame Street song on youtube. Gotta love Jim as the carpenter and Fran as the lifeguard. Keep em' coming!

  • Yeah. That's why this is my favorite "PIYN." In particular, Jim's carpenter seems to be the ultimate king of God-Awful puns; And as for delivery, he nails it. NAILS IT! XD

  • If this is your favorite, you're mighty lucky, because it's one of the few versions currently available for viewing online. Incidentally, about how many versions have you seen?

  • @Jbrangwynne53 Doesn't Jim's carpenter look like Rick Lyon with a mustache? and the lifeguard is rather fetching

Hey how about these people in your neighborhood?

    Investment Banker and Pastor

    Landlord and Gourmet Chef

    Film Director and Ringmaster

    Puppeteers and Cameramen

    Babysitter and Daycareworker

    Policeman and Detective

    Composer and Lyricist

  • y is the lifeguard eating her hair?????
