This song was originally written and performed by Ray Davies with his band The Kinks back in 1965.

The Pretenders covered it years later. 1981 I believe. Chrissy Hynde had a relationship with Ray for a while. I remember back in the 80's, The Pretenders were one of the better sounds on the radio.
