How do I maintain muscle mass? If I am happy with the amount of muscle mass I have and I am happy with the way the body looks and I do not want to grow any muscle mass further. I do not want to get any bigger than I already am. What do I do? @AgaKakaZai Instead of bulking and cutting at 500 above or below maintenance like an average person would, try doing 150 calories under maintenance for your cutting phases and 150-200 above maintenance for your bulking phases, you should be maintaining your muscle mass and dropping body fat well.
Quick Question - I run on the treadmill 3-5 times a week for 20 minutes without any problems. For some reason when i hit the Elliptical my quads tighten up within 2 minutes and eventually cramps. Any ideas why this might be?

So one day I took 2 servings prepared the shake and drank it id say bout 20 min just taking my time. So then later that day I wasnt even hungry and I ate only once! Then I woke up in the middle of the night feeling so dehydrated and had diarrhea for 3 days. Am I lactose? Can you recommend me a protein jug that doesnt have milk?

Hey, I'm 13 and I can do 6 reps of 30 pounds with GOOD FORM, you'd think I can't but i've been working out for more than a year now. It's not bad form. Please don't tell me to go down to 12-15 reps because I want size not lean muscle. I can do about 10 or more reps of 25 lbs, should I move up to 30 lbs or stay at 25 for now?

Scooby, I have a rather odd question. I'm 16 and have been weight training for 6 months. However I haven't noticed a big change (I'm working out with high intensity). I just discovered I have been under eating. Which could be why I haven't seen the results I desire. I'm intaking around 1.500-2000 Calories when I need 3000. Could you make a video, on high density healthy foods, or message me some tips. I'm going to start this Monday, working out while intaking more Cals. Hopefully that will help.
@GoldMaker09 Anything high in fat will be calorie dense, don't believe the lipid hypothesis, saturated fats are completely healthy, they should make up 1/3 of the fats you eat. Try different varieties of meat such as chicken thighs which are full of fats. Any nut butter such as peanut or almond. Oils such as olive or macadamia nut oils are loaded with calories. Try to stay away from getting your calories from simple carbs like most gainer shakes are full of.

I had a surgery few months ago to fix a thing I was born with. A while ago I started to go to gym three times a week, I was doing hammer curls with bad form and I don't think it did too much to help me. This video helped me a lot. I just did these hammer curls with these 8kg dumbbells I've got and it's completely different. Thank you, you are my ticket to better lifestyle!

Scooby I'm looking for an intense quick workout with only a barbell and plenty of weights and an ez curl bar. I'm limited on my budget right now. What else besides rows can I do for my back with a barbell? What about chest? Should I go 2x a week full body workout or split push pull legs?
Scooby - you tell people not to become curl monkeys, but I seem to recall you making a video telling people not to do squats. If you don't squat or deadlift (do you even work legs) then you are just as bad as any "curl monkey."

@gsfgrsg He means focusing only on arms. I see it alot at my gym. There are plenty of guys with these insanely large arms and they're so big they do indeed look like gorillas or moneys. Large upper body and small lower body. Looks un-natural.

@scooby1961 May I ask why? i believe you, but just asking why...i know that you hate this kind of questions because you are all about eating 6 balanced meals every day, but if I don't add simple sugar after training all proteins would be used only to fulfill lost glycogen supply in muscles,but not for muscle growth (yes, I know that muscles grow during hall week after training, but the most inportant is meal after training). After I watched this video yesterday, I went to the gym.
Sure enough there were two guys, one quite built spotting a much smaller guy. For some reason, both guys were doing hammer curls with, as far as I could tell, laughable form.
Started with the weight by their side, swing the weight up, and roll the shoulder blade back as the weight comes down. I've honestly never seen anything like it.
Is that some sort of super-compound exercise, or just outright bad form? I lean towards the latter.
A couple of years ago I hurt my lowere back, now I can no longer squat, row or deadlift and when I try to use both arms at once for dumbell curls or lateral raises the pressure I feel in my back scares the hell out of me. It sucks

Another important thing for anyone who wants serious gains, don't forget to flex, check yourself out, and do cool poses in the mirror for at least a minute after each set. I picked up that little strategy from the fine gentlemen at la fitness.
Scooby i just did these HAMMER CURLS during my last workout and 2 days later my arms are still killing me! I used to curl a 100 pounds on the ez bar with bad form and felt nothing the next day (or even that day --- no pump). But I've started doing my exercises with much slower/stricter reps, concentrating on the muscles as you instruct us, and my arms are fried! And i was only hammer curling the 20 lbs dumbbells! STRICT FORM IS SO IMPORTANT! My arms thank you! YOU'RE THE MAN SCOOBY!!!
@PunisherPlaythroughs Every time you change your lifting routine you should have a harder time the next day then with your previous routine. Muscles respond to different kinds of loads. Lifting heavy weights and cheating is also a way to gain muscle, but you need to be experianced and know EXACTLY what you are doing, and change your routine in a week or two.

I have only seen 1 other person do what I started calling "scooby curls" and that guy was able to curl 45 plates with great form. Then he did normal dumbbell curls exactly the way you do it, nice and slow both positive and negatives. I started doing these scooby curls and man I get so many laughs why i'm lifting so light yet have decent arms lol. I guess they dont understand what slow negatives and positives do :)
While i'm doing hammer curls in the gym, i see my shoulders helping my biceps lift the dumbbell and my back goes a little backwards... i do this with 20LBs dumbbells , i don't find those too much...

People quickly forget the way I illustrate good form because good form is booooooooring BUT people will always remember how NOT to do the exercises because my somewhat over-exagerated and goofy bad form sticks in the memory a bit better :) If you remember enough ways you are not supposted to do the exercise, you can figure out how you are supposed to do it :)
Hey scooby! I've been trying to bulk up my pecs for a while now, and nothing seems to work. I've been doing various kinds of pushups couplded with dumbell pec exercises. @harPOONedwhALE No and no. That is creatine hydrochloride and never buy anything from GNC whether its GNC brand just from the store itself. I take "Now Foods Creatine Monohydrate" in powder form, I try to stay away from capsules/tablets. All creatine monohydrates are the same, you want just a plain old tub of creatine monohydrate.

Scooby - you tell people not to become curl monkeys, but I seem to recall you making a video telling people not to do squats. If you don't squat or deadlift (do you even work legs) then you are just as bad as any "curl monkey."

@gsfgrsg He means focusing only on arms. I see it alot at my gym. There are plenty of guys with these insanely large arms and they're so big they do indeed look like gorillas or moneys. Large upper body and small lower body. Looks un-natural.

Once again you show the difference between how much you can lift and how you lift it.
I could quite easily do high weight reps with bad form, but I love the results I get from using good form, the right weight and a good range of motion.

@scooby1961 May I ask why? i believe you, but just asking why...i know that you hate this kind of questions because you are all about eating 6 balanced meals every day, but if I don't add simple sugar after training all proteins would be used only to fulfill lost glycogen supply in muscles,but not for muscle growth (yes, I know that muscles grow during hall week after training, but the most inportant is meal after training). Whey proteins would be ''wasted stupidly'' that way... Please answer

After I watched this video yesterday, I went to the gym.
Sure enough there were two guys, one quite built spotting a much smaller guy. For some reason, both guys were doing hammer curls with, as far as I could tell, laughable form.
Started with the weight by their side, swing the weight up, and roll the shoulder blade back as the weight comes down. I've honestly never seen anything like it.
Is that some sort of super-compound exercise, or just outright bad form? I lean towards the latter.

A couple of years ago I hurt my lowere back, now I can no longer squat, row or deadlift and when I try to use both arms at once for dumbell curls or lateral raises the pressure I feel in my back scares the hell out of me. It sucks

Scooby i just did these HAMMER CURLS during my last workout and 2 days later my arms are still killing me! I used to curl a 100 pounds on the ez bar with bad form and felt nothing the next day (or even that day --- no pump). But I've started doing my exercises with much slower/stricter reps, concentrating on the muscles as you instruct us, and my arms are fried! And i was only hammer curling the 20 lbs dumbbells! STRICT FORM IS SO IMPORTANT! My arms thank you! YOU'RE THE MAN SCOOBY!!!

@PunisherPlaythroughs Every time you change your lifting routine you should have a harder time the next day then with your previous routine. Muscles respond to different kinds of loads. Lifting heavy weights and cheating is also a way to gain muscle, but you need to be experianced and know EXACTLY what you are doing, and change your routine in a week or two.

I have only seen 1 other person do what I started calling "scooby curls" and that guy was able to curl 45 plates with great form. Then he did normal dumbbell curls exactly the way you do it, nice and slow both positive and negatives. I started doing these scooby curls and man I get so many laughs why i'm lifting so light yet have decent arms lol. I guess they dont understand what slow negatives and positives do :)

While i'm doing hammer curls in the gym, i see my shoulders helping my biceps lift the dumbbell and my back goes a little backwards... i do this with 20LBs dumbbells , i don't find those too much...

People quickly forget the way I illustrate good form because good form is booooooooring BUT people will always remember how NOT to do the exercises because my somewhat over-exagerated and goofy bad form sticks in the memory a bit better :) If you remember enough ways you are not supposted to do the exercise, you can figure out how you are supposed to do it :)

Hey scooby! I've been trying to bulk up my pecs for a while now, and nothing seems to work. I've been doing various kinds of pushups couplded with dumbell pec exercises. Unfortunately, I don't have ascess to a bench press. Overall, my chest just looks out of wack with the rest of my body. I'm 17 and have been body building for 2 years now. Any tips?

@harPOONedwhALE No and no. That is creatine hydrochloride and never buy anything from GNC whether its GNC brand just from the store itself. I take "Now Foods Creatine Monohydrate" in powder form, I try to stay away from capsules/tablets. All creatine monohydrates are the same, you want just a plain old tub of creatine monohydrate.
