@Mattrules1111 You don't. Costs too much, and much too high risk of injury. They have tons of mock up simulators and trainers to train pilots on the movements and the sensation of being ejected.

I'm a junior in hgih school starting to pick up my game to study engineering and go into Air Force R.O.T.C. to become a pilot. I can't get into the A.F. Academy with my suckish 3.2 GPA but im going to bring it up to a 3.4-3.5 this year and try exceptionally hard. I hear it's tough to get into R.O.T.C. let alone get a scholarship these days.

@SAULJman44 I wanted to do that as well... depending on your location... you will need a Bachelors degree 4 years... i recommend to call an air force recruiter and ask as many questions as you want to get good feed back!....see if you can earn your bachelors with them and begin as an Fighter pilot... start killing arabs... well hope this helps!..

@RISINGTENSION Fighter pilots only fly for about 8-10yrs, not their entire life. Any longer than that, and your reactions start to slow, and long hours spent in a cramped cockpit with massive g forces ripping on you can affect your body badly.

To answer your question: no, you must go with an instructor for a while, and it's worse than going alone :P There is this self-loading baggage that is watching and later writing down your performance.

Its not just about Grades to become a Fighter pilot.you need 20/20 vision/you cant be above 6.2 foot,you have to be strong. For the RAF if about 500 ppl apply then only about 200 will get in then it will go down to 100 then it will go down to about 30And only 6 out of those people will probably get the job. Also its a major risk if you Eject out of the plane. When you turn the plane you pull whilest goin at about 500mph you pul 5g and when u eject u pull 25g which could cause u to brake ur spine

just like steelsword100 said, I'm 12 and it's always been my dream to fly the F-22, since my dad flies the F-16. A big tip of you're looking to get to become a fighter pilot, is to jve experience with smaller planes, like gliders, pipers, or cesnas. if you get you're glider license and pilot license before you go to the Air Force adademy or the Naval academy, they'll see that and you will have the advantage over most of the people because you already have experience.
