I know there's already a Court TV channel but what we really need is a Criminal Justice channel with shows like Rescue 911, Law and Order, Forensic Files, America's Most Wanted, Cops, Cold Case, and many other shows that involve with criminal justice.
BTW, "Just because a person is blind, doesn't mean they don't have a vision. And just because a person can't walk, doesn't mean they can't go the distance".
I love the way your friend answers your questions. He answers in Rescue 911 style by restating the question in his answer like the victims and participants do in their interviews portions!!!
Great vid., and yes I voted a long time ago Dorvel!
there's news clips of 2 major Rescue 9-1--1 rescues actually 3 1. junior garza 30 years later and comfort texas flood 30 years later and the missouri ave. fire from #119.
my favorite types of accidents featured are when you know something bad will happen like kids who play with guns to that man who lit a match to a furnace causing an explosion etc.
yeah that one too and and yes she says that in the beginning of the call., how about an excerpt from that segment and maybe just maybe the show may come out?
My favorite segments are High Voltage Save, which is one that i haven't seen in a long time, and don't remember much about. I also like the second segment from 313 with the man trapped in the burning pickup truck, and many more segments that can't name right now.
If I could choose between some of the segments I've seen (which is quite a lot of them actually,) I'd have to say Blind Hero (from 117,) 9-1-1 Video Stabbing (from 307,) Burning Jeep Pin (from 322,) Butane Huffing from 520 (despite the ending,) Comeback Kid (from 416,) Bridge Rescue (from 102,) and Player Down (from 103.) That's just a small percentage of the really good Rescue 911 Segments though.
Felix (ep #117) suggests talking with Time-Life about putting the Rescue 911 series out on DVD. Thanks for the info about the website. I'll go there and check it out.
Felix is in Rescue 911 Episode 117, that is all I said. Sorry about the shorthand! It was just a suggestion he had, to see if Time-Life wanted to sponser the preservation of the series.
I've seen his story numorous times, actually. It's one of my favorites! Maybe we should talk with Time Life to see if they'll preserve the series or whatever it was that you said, Haha! What's Time Life anyway? I've never heard of them.
A better idea how about a promo with a Pilot episode segment eg, "Arlington" narrator: in Arlington Texas a family is about to face an intruder, with a deep voice like Jaws trailers.
Have you heard there maybe an unreleased pink panther cartoon pilot called "Suspense accout" well Rescue 911 has the suspense account syndrome because it's not released yet?
I agree - good work dude. I have about 15 full segments (and some partials) I taped in 1994-96, but nowhere near complete, and there's some I've never seen.
Even if the early-mid 90s segments are "dated", it's timeless for telling people what to do in emergencies, and lives have been proven to be saved as a result of others watching it. They should at least put it back in reruns just for that reason.
Oh, I just meant the background stuff, like hairstyles, fashions or things people had in their houses where you can tell its "older" (I think there was a vague 80s look as late as 1993/94), but it doesn't take away from the power of the show. It's timeless since it's real situations people can get into. Unsolved Mysteries is like that too.
Really though, you and your buddy did an excellent job. This video should be enough proof for why the show should be on DVD or at least back on tv.
I don't know if it's really gotten anyone to vote for it who hasn't already done so though. Oh yeah, when you said "dated", I thought you might've been referring to the way Cpr and other first-aid type things were done back in the days of rescue 911, and how they've undergone several changes. For example, didn't Cpr used to be two breaths and 5 compressions, but it's now something like two breaths and 15 to 30 compressions?
Should it ever air again, I'd rather it be during primetime hours and the 60 minute format. Rescue 911 during the day doesn't sit with me vary well. It's like unsolved mysteries, which is best to watch at night with all the lights off. As for the original format versus the edited one, I watched those episodes, but you could never tell what episodes the two different segments were taken from. The editing coupled with no closing words from Shatner and the end creddits being crunched didn't help.
(comment continued) to see Rescue 9-1-1- hit the t.v. screens in april and may of 1989 with the 2 specials and it shows how medics use their ambulances and that's what I loved about the show.
what I liked about the show is when i was a baby I needed the ambulance when i was born with spina bifida and so in 89 when i saw this show it was a cathartic feeling.
Quite a good move on that one. I voted to put this show on DVD by season. And this show saved my life probably. When I was 10, I thought about riding on the bed of my dad's old Ford F-150. Then I saw a Rescue 911 episode that a girl was thrown from it after an collision, I decided not to ask my dad to let me ride on it. I never wrote a fan letter about it. I hope we get this show on DVD by season when most of us are still around.
Update! The votes for Rescue 9-1-1 to come out on Dvd have reached 933, with 95% of voters voting for season set releaces!

Hey guys, I heard from another user that the votes for Rescue 911 to come out on Dvd has reached 715 votes. I know that's not much, but it adds up!

#601 you've never thought that mechanical problems were the cause of fast cars as was the case of stuck accelerator.

It would help if you showed "Arlington 9-1-1-" so that people would see what show is being voted and besides Arlington was
the first segment to open the show.
gregorkrause 3 years ago
True.
DorvellTStewart 3 years ago
I might have to make another video and include a clip from the Arlington segment! any suggestions as to what part of it I should use?
DorvellTStewart 3 years ago
the part where the robber opens the door, and the part where laura screams buddy.
gregorkrause 3 years ago
Ok. I'll do that!

thanks.

@DorvellTStewart the bloody knife and laura screaming buddy over the phone.

Hi DorvellTStewart, what quotes from Rescue 9-1-1- seem a little dramatic? , mine are I need I need an ambulance my baby quit breathing.
gregorkrause 3 years ago
I'd have to say, "There's somebody in my house," from 116. That's what Laura says at the beginning of the call, right?
DorvellTStewart 3 years ago
yeah that one too and and yes she says that in the beginning of the call., how about an excerpt from that segment and maybe just maybe the show may come out?
gregorkrause 3 years ago
what I meant that an excerpt for what viewers are voting for to put on dvd so some who have not watched see whats being voted for on dvd?

Hey Dorvell whats your favorite Rescue 911 episode/segment

cool idea how about stop-motion animation of certain Rescue 9-1-1- segments using toys you have and a movie camera, example #107 Residential Robbery?
gregorkrause 3 years ago
I would put your idea to use, but I don't have any William Shatner action figures, LOL!
DorvellTStewart 3 years ago
you could talk like shatner that's what I had in mind.
