With the MiniTool partition manager wizard, it is easy for you to delete partition, copy partition , create partition and other operations. Some editions are FREEEEE. Any of you who need it can have a try.
if i have an external hdd of 400 gigs full of data up to 200gig and i have 200gigs left if i make a partition on it will it delete the data thats already on it?
mine only lets me shrink it to 10 gigs, it dosnt go higher, ive done this befor but now it suddenly does this, i have no other partitions, and a 360 gig drive with a lot of space left on it????help
why does it take so long?? (or maybe its not even working). I tried to shrink my c drive just 1 gigabite and i waited a few hours then gave up and let it run overnight. In the morning it was still going! i ended up closing the window and restarting the computer and the partitions and everything were fine. But still, i want to shrink my c drive and i cant do it!
can you give some guidance, I am trying to make a partition in my HDD and it only gives me 613 MB of space to do it, even though I have 107702 MB in my HDD what can I do
Anyone who has had a problem like I have (which is computer saying can't partition more than 0)
The reason why Windows wont let you shrink the volume is because there are immovable system files at the very end of the volume.
The solution would be downloading a program called PerfectDisk and defragging with that application.
I have tried Win. Defrag as well as JKDefrag and neither of those worked. For people with restrictions on it If JKdefrag doesn't work then the application before will^^
it will already be named designated with a letter. there is no "right filetype" for a partition. a partition is just a segment in your hard drive to seperate your files with. for instance installing two operating sytems would need two partitions.
Yes it will, you basically make seperated segments on a hard drive. Think of it as sepearting a fish tank with a divider. If you remove divider, it goes back to normal :)
hey man I installed windows xp on partition 1 C:drive and vista Paritition 2 D: drive ok but now my vista loads up first and theres no boot menu showed up, when restarting my computer, please any help, thanks!
Hmm, I tried creating a partition by doing this. After I typed my amount and clicked shrink a error appeared saying Access Denied. The title of the window was Logical Disk Manager
I want to have a new hard drive but to seperated hard drive on my computer so i can put all my movies in it so i want to keep drive c as a single partition but then have another one on its own without causing problem, and have like loads of gb space.
lol, BSS stood for Black September Stuff. My friends band but since then they reformed a new one "AIS" which is As It Stands and i'm the manager of it =D

If i make a partition and put programs and then format my pc will all the programs in the partitions get deleted?
RyanA1000000 2 years ago
Only if you format the partition with the programs.
When you format, just format the other partition and leave the one you want alone.
Nyohttekotte 2 years ago
If you delete you newly created partition, will all the memory go back to your old/original partition? BTW good vid I rated 5 stars =)

right, im pretty sure the program is called easyBCD, download that and they'll be some documentation elsewhere on the net about how to sort it out.
Its to do with boot files of something or other.

I plan to switch vista to XP, is this difficult? I Already have my drivers i need =]
xxdeano87xx 2 years ago
No it's not hard but if DUAL BOOTING you have to use Easy BCD to be able to get back into Vista.

Ah cheers mate!!
Im adjusting slowly to vista, and ive heard from multiple sources that vista may be better than XP with the specs i have.
Parently if you have less than 2GB ram, vista is poo! Tho i have 4 =]

My first Laptop had 512MB and it was REALLY slow; it was running Vista Home Basic.
My new Laptop has 4GB and is running Home Premium and is good☺

Keep XP faster and better

Generally i agree, but if your system is powerful enough to handle Vista then i don't see the problem.
But anyways, Windows 7 is the way forward :P
Dinnerz2k7 2 years ago
Usually D has like 10GB. Vista will fill that pretty much >_>
