  • 4:24-6:00 what's with the second pace car?

  • Screw the roof cams. Being able to see the drivers wrestle the wheel inside the car while spinning out uncontrollably is where it's at.

  • It's amazing even in that spin, minus the collision with Kyle, how reasonably uner control Dale was able to keep #3. There never was nor will there ever be any driver like him.

  • Ken Squier, Ned Jarrett and David Hobbs....nobody together called a better race

  • ernie was great til that wreck at michigan

  • at 3:34 Kyle petty's hair was on fire.

  • There is only 2 Earnhardt worth mentioning and they are both dead so IDK how they are so great

  • Mears family is better than the earnhardt family

  • R U smoking crack. Rick Mears is the best driver in the Mears gang, he won 4 indy's & 3 CART titles. Roger & Rick were both good offroad racers but when you compare family numbers, there is no comparison. Dale Sr was better at NASCAR than Rick was in CART & I like Rick Mears. Roger sucked in CART. Casey can't hold a candle to Dale Jr's numbers. Go do your research & re-evaluate your statement...

  • @romero2k So this bring a great ? whos the greatest racing family, is it the petty's or andretti's, etc...

  • i wish david hobbs still did nascar

  • first off, they need to get Ken Squire to replace Bill Webber.

  • @mushypeanuts is David Hobbs the play by play guy?

  • @mushypeanuts never mind its Ken Squire haha

  • @Marcfantoday david hobbs is the english guy

  • 3 of the greatest racers ever allison petty and the intimidator

  • did davey filp

  • no but he came really close

  • He almost went in the lake, but the sand hills kept him from going in. He DID flip in 1989.

  • @rockypc24: No, he flipped in 1989.

  • what a douche

  • his life...

  • Ernie Irvin old team is gone now

  • Great footage of Doyle Ford.

  • What size flag do say those are?

  • That's the real question. Hard to say. In this video they look like approximately 20"x30" but from other videos they look more around 24"x30", and possibly a little longer than that.

  • i wanted to see daveys interview

  • I'm sorry to say that Morgan-McClure Racing, the team which fielded the #4 that Irvan and many other drivers drove to success, shut it's doors today.

  • yep i hate to see 25 years of racing just gone

  • well they closed there racing operation until they find a sponser but it doesnt look

  • look at yates, heading into to daytona with a 7 race sponsor for 1 of 2 cars. its sad

  • Yeah and being simply an affiliate of Roush Racing, they put Travis Kvapil who drove for Roush in Trucks in the car, so they are basically Roush-B. This is bad considering they ran circles around Roush for a while.

  • So it Ward Burton outta a ride?...it seems like since Marlin and Hamilton it fell apart

  • yup

  • thats unfortinate....Ward has the talent to be a top-10 point runner

  • I know. He finished in the Top 10 in points twice when he drove the #22 car for Bill Davis. He could've been a contender for titles if he had the right equipment.

I wish Ward would have driven for Morgan-McClure back then when they were winning instead of having to drive their CRAPPY cars last season.

  • Well Morgan McClure like Petty Enterprise and Wood Brothers just stood still and never tried to get with the time...it ultimatley lead to there demise....A Mirror image of Melling Brothers

  • on the incar it seems davey got turned upside down...

  • Davey would get his the next year.

  • LOL 4:37

  • what are the odds of a seagul hitting your car?

  • Crazy pit rules for the start of 1991 season Check this video to understand: =zW5K1Ba21n8

  • if it wasn't for that embankment of land, davey would of ended in Lake Lloyd....however they completely fixed that area awhile ago, putting pavement over the grass area and a concrete wall that says "Daytona's Superstretch"....either way i probably prefer hitting dirt then concrete at 200 mphs...

  • yeah, this was racing back in the day, the best in my opinion. Ernie was my backup driver if Earnhardt not succeeded in doing well in a race. I remember there was a Racing Champions race set that had the "1991 Daytona 500's" 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in a special group package. I had such a hard time finding the Kodak car till i came across that set!

  • @RazorRC3 they had that in 1992 when davey allison won it, with Shepherd and Bodine together. But the package was inaccurate in some packages that had Bodine listed as 2nd behind Allison.

  • This race made me an Irvan Fan, although Davey Allison got sweet revenge the following year.

  • Is it me, or is this kind of racing much better than the "huge pack" racing we have now at Daytona and Talladega?

  • Heh... it's not you.

  • Certainly a Kodak moment, to say the least.

  • Ernie!!!

  • Is it me or did Allison flip again?

  • lol thats what i thought the first time but im pretty sure it was just a bunch of dirt kicked up from when he hit the bank

  • DAVE DESPAIN IS AN IDIOT

  • Was this the 500 with the seagull incident...or was it 92, or am I way off

  • yes this was the seagul race

  • ok, thanks, and great videos keep up the great work.....do you have 94-96 500 finishes?

  • no sorry :(

  • Ernie!

  • Not often did Dale Earnhardt spin without any help!

  • the commentators didn't seem to know what was going on when the crash happened lol

  • And ironically, the car they mistook for Irvan would actually be his future ride.
