  • The 405 was such an excellent car, especially in diesel guise....The 406 that followed was one of the best cars i ever drove,so much fluency..........Everything went to pots at Peugeot after that.

  • What's name of the song?

  • my dad owned a 405 gtx Executive Estate he loved it we went to france and back without looking under the bonnet he bought a Mercedes and put the 405 up for sale after a few days of driving the merc the merc went up for sale the 406 estate was like goldbust to get hold of and the 407 was disapointing.i hope that the 508 brings back peugeot moto ( the drive of you life )

  • My dad owns a 407 and i wouldn't say it's as awesome as it looks, it is kind of annoying. He never owned a 405, and my whole life i wondered if they are really good?

  • cast of transformers..lol..

  • maquinon!!

  • mam ta maszyne z 1992 roku jak narazie mnie nie zawodzi a mam ja juz 10 lat ;p

  • Well This is the only redemption I have for driving that car.

  • That was when Peugeot were good and made decent looking cars. The likes of the Peugeots of today such as the 308 are ugly and unreliable. I think the 406 and 306 were the last decent cars Peugeot made. A lot of the earlier Peugeots were designed by Penin Farina, so hence the quality styling.

  • dad had one of these maybe the best car he ever had so reliable

  • Great classic ad!

The teeth of the Lion cutting the fire!

  • I like the 405. One of the best cars Peugeot ever made. BTW I remember this advert well. I had a 406. The 406 was a good car with good engine, but let down by flimsy trim.

  • good cars cuz you still see a few now

  • @MidlandNinja They actually still make them in Egypt and Iran.

If I wasn't in IDF, i'd go there and buy a new one.

  • sadley they don't make ads like this anymore :(

  • I miss my Peugeot . . .

  • elle son super ces voiture

  • They were box of tricks

  • this advert is the most remembered when i was growing up, i remember thinking WOW this car can drive through fire lol!

  • Nice add it dosent make the car seem that old. I love the bit where the window closes at 38 secs

  • El mejor coche que he tenido!!!

  • @chivilero EL 406 ES EL 405 PERO MEJOR AUN IMAGINATE..........

  • they were bastards according to some.

  • c est clair que la pub et les moyens investi font penser au budget du cinema type super production.j ai une 405 et je suis fier d en avoir une et surtout en visionnant cette pub

  • la pub c'est une superproduction du cinéma français ou quoi ?

  • and nowadays you dont even get 400 Euro if you sell this car

  • Por un coche tan bueno como el 405 quemaba yo hasta la selva Amazonica

  • would anybody happen to no where to get a hood for a 1955 peugeot 203c?? ive been restoring one for almost 3 years now and all i need is a hood and i cant find one any where. so if you no where to get one could you let me no. thanks

  • Good cars you still see loads now

  • i drive a peugeot 405 and im not ashamed. what do you drive. a GEO METRO!

  • na im only messin i love these things!!!!

  • excellent car

  • Haha lol, that advert is so 80's. But so cool lol. I feel nostalgic over this car. My parents had quite a few of these as I was growing up.

  • Beautiful car! I currently have the 1994 GLX TD. It rocks! Would anyone be interested in a Peugeot 309 and 405 owners club.

  • By owners club I mean online. I will also include 605's. please reply.

  • My first car...I miss her :*

  • hot

  • My dad worked at a peugeot dealer back in Jan '88 when this car was launched, it was amazing car back then, compared to the likes or the mk2 cavalier and crappy Ford Sierra...

  • Yay , long live the 405 , too many Mi's have been broken up , lovely cars , most comfortable I have owned , including my current Jag!

    STOP THE 405 SLAUGHTER!!!!!

  • Excelente comercial, nunca lo habia visto. Muy bueno...

  • I think this car looks beautiful actually. Probably a future classic, especially the T16 and Mi16 versions

  • especially now that the t16s are near impossible to find

  • the petrol ones were a bit crap apparently..

  • no they weren't, 1.9 engines with ecu were quite good

  • I never had a petrol but the 1994 1.9 GLX TD totally ROCKS!

  • Thanks for posting this, great ad, lovely car!

  • I've wanted to see this again for years - it caused a sensation when it was first shown. Doesn't look quite as impressive as I remember. I guess you can never go a

    back...

  • a great car and a great song....beautiful.....thake you'r breath....

  • It was 1990 - I remember this advert on TV when I was 4.

Yes this song was first made for Top Gun in 1986 but this was a remix from 1990 for the Peugeot advert.

  • Actually this wasn't 1990 as it says on the screen but 1987 - the music was of course used in Top Gun from 1986

  • 405's 4 life!!

  • I recently bought a 1996 model of 405 SR, i want to pimp this car a bit to "take away breaths on the road" i am on a low budget, can someone advice on where and where to touch? I intend the original colour (metalic grey) to pearl white which happens to be my fav color in cars... I'ld appreciate comments and recommendations

  • Nice Rolex

  • Good cars in the UK we still have loads on our roads

  • I love my Peugeot 405 Mi16 and it the best one more then GR GL or the other love it

  • i have a 405 2.0 GTX ... :) very fast :D

  • I remember this ad. I was only 3 yrs. old at the time it came out!

  • I crashed mine yesterday and it was totaled as the paramedic had wrote on my form. and it set fire on the inside. and my head rest came out as we barrel rolled down the hill. :D

    R.I.P 405 1.8GLTD

  • my m8 crashed his the yesterday and it burst into flames in a field. very ironic. every one was unharmed

  • this car was recalled beacause of leaking fuel pipes and bursting into flames.

  • Was that on all models, or one in particular?

  • on that model of car it should have been recalled. I dont know about the rest of them.

  • I've loved the Peugeot 405, especially the estate model produced from 1988(E)-1997(P). In Zimbabwe it was produced up until 2002 and is still produced to this day in Iran! Lol

  • Pat Butcher in EastEnders drives one of these!

  • the 405 is a great car!!!! I have a 96 STI and I just love it. It has many features that current mid sizes don't. It is the best exemplar here in Peru, where most are GR and SR.

  • i LOVE my 1.8 GLX, 135K, just cleaned, waxed, polished it earlier, looks the fuckin part!

  • JESUS H CHRIST! I remember this ad from about 18 years ago in the UK but was too young at the time to remember what it was for. Goddamn this brings back memories. Thanks!

  • Here's a question - anybody remember seeing a "making of" for this ad? For some reason I think it was shown on an old Jasper Carrott TV show, but if anyone can help out it'd be much appreciated!

  • Still have 1.9D. 230K on the clock and still going strong. Never needed any major work done.

  • I think Peugeot 405s really could go fire cuz there's absolutely loads of them still about.

  • they still make and sell 405 in Egypt and Iran !

  • i lost dthis ad, and now ive found it again. love it, just chargin into the fire..Berlin is so good with this ad. thank you fiesta17, you took my breath away.

  • does anyone remember the car advert with the two kids gettin cicled by a shark and the boy saves the girl and it shows years latter they're still together and he's got a shark bite on his side

  • That was the advert for the Peugeot 406

  • that was the 406 add, another had the 16wheeler sideways down the road straight for a little girl in red, remember that one?

  • For some reason this advert is one of the only ones i remember from when i was a child! Looked great at the time, but now those explosions look poor, as do the remaining 405's.

  • WTF? I have a concours 405 Mi16 which certainly doesn't look "poor". Or perhaps you're just a badge snob?

  • Fair enough, im sure yours is a decent one, and the mi16's are meant to be pretty quick. But to be fair most of the ones i've seen are normally basic spec ones that are falling to bits and ready for the scrap yard! Lets be honest their an old car, and will be bangers if not well kept like your one is.

  • I'm too young to remember this ad, but you certainly don't often get them as good as this.

  • I remember this advert, I was 3 or 4 when it first aired - the fire used to frighten me a little.
