Trust me I know as I have to drop the range down myself as I am a natural tenor/alto, and when you dropped down it was so out of your normal range it was pure comedy ,and that is not in a haha way. Stay high, but just find a way to shape the tones differently and I think you'll be fine

a little thought and recommendations. Sing your own note. You can lay any song out in your own style and make it sound good. Change the melody a little and the tempo is need be.
