  • This is my last try I've written 4 comments on how positive I am that this was not Diane's fault and the reasons why backed up by other medical stories I've heard and every time I try to submit them they are erased my prayers are w/ you

  • @katie8405 oh shut the hell up. medical examiners information is private. they examined her and there's no conspiracy. IT WAS HER FAULT now get lost!

  • Yeah what Mrltavem said!!

  • I also watched the full documentary on YouTube. To say the entrance to the freeway was not properly marked . . . makes no sense. Several witnesses in the documentary stated she almost hit them, that they quickly swerved out of her way, one even went on the grass. So it doesn't occur to you that you're on the wrong side of the road???? NOT WHEN YOU'RE AN ALCOHOLIC HIGH ON DRUGS. God bless those poor innocent children.

  • @UnkoPiko I hear ya!!

  • I just saw the documentary on HBO. I sat there and watched it, I was shocked to hear the outcome of her toxicology tests. I do agree, in some cases, tests can be in error. These tests were done apparently mulitple times by expert toxicologists. The results are what they are! I agree 100% with Mr. L. Shame on you Daniel for taking your family to court to try and cover up with the truth. I am sorry for your loss and the loss of the other family members, you need to seek therapy with your denial.

  • These things shouldnt happen to kids...im terrefied everyday I get on the street...defensive driving is the best offensive driving...things like this should neeevvveerrr happppeenn to a family..

  • The fact are the facts. If you read the autopsy report, and the toxicology testing she consumed a large amount of alcohol and smoked pot within a relatively short period of time. She still had 160cc of undigested, unabsorbed alcohol in her stomach. Her husbands claims, and reports of Diane given by family and friends says to me this husband and wife lived in a lot of denial. Absolutely nothing in the autopsy indictated any pathology, blood clots, aneurysms etc.

  • Maybe he's not indenial. I think he's guilty. Guilty of abusing drugs and alcohol too. Probably did it with her that morning. Why wouldn't they have drove back together? One following the other? Maybe they got in a fight that morning.

  • Where'd she get the pot? If she had pot in her she got in somewhere. Why don't they investigate where she got it?

  • I just watched this documentary last night and it emotionally paralyzed me. Whether Diane Schuler was medically ill or not, she was still intoxicated and high. Who knows why she did it?? Who knows what was happening in the car seconds before the crash?? Those familes were devastated and Daniel Schuler, though also a victim, is turning himself into a villain. He should mourn his wife and his daughter. He should mourn his nieces and raise his son. Suing his brother -in-law is ludicrous smh

  • @GeminiLaw84 I totally agree!

  • Daniel Schuler is in such DEEP denial !!! One day he will get it and admit it to himself ...but probably not to anyone else and he is too guilty to see straight !!

  • @PeaceFan1 well, she can't be still in denial, cuz she's dead.

  • @PeaceFan1 Uhhh he said Daniel Schuler, not Diane Schuler. Daniel is definitely in denial.

  • @GeminiLaw84 just playin!

  • @mrltavern READ above , I said DANIEL is in deep denial Not Diane ... Of Course she was drunk AND High ...He only made himself look worse in that Documentary ...Shame on HIM but ultimately SHE chose to drink and drive ...xo

  • @PeaceFan1 I WAS ONLY KIDDING! sheesh

  • just watched the documentary and I thought of the time I had a infected tooth that broke and couldnt get to the oral sergen till morning and the only thing that would numb the pain was diping a tooth brush in alchohol and placing it around the tooth. taking a shot and holding it in my mouth worked better but I would have run out. it took every thing I had in me to keep my eyes on the road driving to the doctor that morning. due to the pain. if I could have had someone drive me I would have.

  • I just saw a video of someone driving and passing out at the wheel from a blackout. His body leaned to his right side before he crashed. Diane Shuler's photo of her body after the crash does not show her entire body, Only her upper body. The two guys at the scene said Diane's body fell out when they opened the side door. So my point is, I thinks she blacked out too, fell to the right before the impact proving she did black out because her face was in tact. My theory of the accident scene.

  • Mr. L, This is perfect physchology, and rationality at it's best in what you have to say here.

  • she was hammered drunk

  • I saw the documentary as well, bottom line is that Diane was/is responsible for 8 deaths to include herself. Her family should STOP focusing on excuses. Something went wrong and it was her getting behind the wheel. She KILLED all those people and her family (husband and sister in-law) need to STOP and accept it!

  • Daniel Schuler should be burned alive. I hope his dick falls off

  • I hate that fat lazy deadbeat fuck with a passion. He shows absolutely no remorse whatsoever he's more pissed that his gravytrain died and he's only suing all those people just for the money. I want to cripple that evil bastard.

  • Daniel Schuler is a weirdo ! and in total denial and are so afraid of people judging them because of what his stupid burnt out wife killed all those people driving the wrong way. Many drunks do this when they don't know where they are because disoriented by the booze. Drinking and smoking Pot makes a person higher. I feel so sorry for Diane's brother who lost his world! What a scumbag Daniel Schuler is ! He can blame the world that is not going to bring anyone back!

  • I don’t live in the area. I just saw this yesterday. WTF? Sad, tragic. The only good thing, is heighten awareness to all women and men. Please just don’t drive high or drinking, period!

  • Diane Schuler is an hero.

  • @ItsCamaroKarSon may you rot everlasting in hell when you go there.

  • @mrltavern Thanks.

  • @ItsCamaroKarSon quite welcome.

  • Her ignorant husband, sis in law and friends did her no favors! In an effort to prove that she wouldn't be the type of person to drink and toke with kids in the car, her husband , sister in law and her friends ended up making her sound stubborn, only following the beat of her own drummer, hard headed, vindictive (if she didn't like you) and very hard to please! In other words, a super woman who did as she damn well pleased and was the type who thought she could drink, get high and handle it!

  • This whole story is such a mess. Everyone is so confused. We are never going to know the reason for Diane's actions. The shitty thing is, innocent people died. My heart goes out to the families who lost the people in the crash, with no chance to say goodbye. Beyond terrible, and impossible to forget.

  • test

  • I fucking hate diane schuler.I saw the documentary more than once and diane was a secret alcoholic and pot smoker. Her husband knew and I cannot believe that daniel schuler is suing his brother in law because diane was using his car.SHE FUCKING KILLED ALL THREE OF HIS GIRL'S.Why would you put them through more.Daniel schuler doesnt even want his only child left. He's so cold.Yes he lost his child and wife but it was diane's fault. He needs to accept the fact she did it.That's it.

  • @kaiya977 the documentary was filmed last summer. Schuler announced to the press THE DAY AFTER this doc aired on HBO.

  • Just watched this documentary. It was heartbreaking to see the pictures of the kids knowing the tragedy that unfolded. So sad. I don't think we will ever know the complete story.

  • @yodit617 you sir are a door knob, what this fine gentleman had said here is right on the money.

I think your the looser for going after someone that it outraged by this woman's crime and the moron that has the balls to sue his brother in law, the man lost 3 little girls to this woman's crime.

Everyone that knows of this case should be outraged by it. 6 innocent people's lives were taken by this sick woman, she was high as a kite that day.

You sir Instead of putting this man down should be s

  • I also have another comment u said he is suing brother in law because it was his truck? If he.did say that why would Diane Schuler's brother give his sister a van that was messed up to kill his 3 kids his, his niece, and.his sister???!!! He's.crazy.4 even fixing his lip to say that? Smdh

  • I saw this documentary twice! I never saw or heard that Daniel Schuler was suing his brother in law! What documentary were you watching???

  • @kaiya977 THIS PROVES UR A TOTAL IDIOT. the documentary was filmed last summer. Schuler announced to the press THE DAY AFTER this doc aired on HBO. DO NOT COME HERE AND COMMENT UR EMBARRASSING URSELF.

  • Dan Schuler seemed very uninterested in the documentary. His answers were very short and would rather be anywhere else. I feel bad for the little boy who survived because the father could rather care less. Bottom line is that it appears that Diane was a drunk who killed a lot of people. The family should just deal with it.

  • Maybe she got drunk and high and in a split second decided to kill them all and driving head on into traffic was no accident. You know in the doc they mentioned that she didn't even tell anyone she was going to the dentist and had a sore tooth maybe all her emotional pain was locked up too and it just came out in a terrible way one day.

  • you must be the lonliest person on earth,I feel so sad for you and anyone who cares for you,I just hope you never face a tragedy in you pathetic life(which from the sound of it, isn't going to good) and FYI: I came down off my high horse just for a moments to entertain your nonsense,I'm going back up,don't like it much in loserville. GET A LIFE

  • @yodit617 oh shut ur mouth. i have faced tragedy. i havent killed anyone though. go fuck urself.

  • Wow, I can not believe how evil people can be,your mean and careless remarks will not bring a single soul back. I think her husband is in a great deal of pain that none of us will ever understad, and I never ever want too. What ever happened on that fateful day is so sad beyond comprehension. While your here sharing your hateful evil thoughts about this family, have you taken the time to hug your's and tell them you love them, you could be next to experience this sort of pain. Think about it!!!

  • @yodit617 whats hateful & evil? asking questions? frustration? wanting the truth? I wouldn't want to live in the world that you'd want to. yes we know its sad what happened. comments here have expressed that. I bet u didnt even listen to this clip.comments I made have expressed that. pls get off ur high horse. this is a free country sis. pls if u dont have anything meaningful to add dont comment here.

  • There was something wrong with her, everybody who saw her that day, at McDonald, at the camp site and the gas station said that she didn't appear to be intoxicated, she tried to buy tylenol I assume she was in pain. It's a terrible tragedy but we will never truly know what exactly made drink ans smoke pot.

I will not throw any stones at Diane Schuler because I truly believe that she was a good person and a very good mother. The question I have is did she ever drive intoxicated in the past?

  • What inhuman human to drive children in any kind of potentially threatening state. No excuses just selfish, how anyone can destroy a family more after they lost three helpless terrified kids. I wish this man would think about the thoughts and pleading those children must have been doing.

  • Good Documentary.....she was a drunk and a stoner...plain and simple..Her Family knew she had issues....That Daniel Schuler should be shot, he obviously wants nothing to do with his son......This guy in this post..is right on.....ill be listening to him more....

  • This is absurd.... She was driving in the wrong direction for 1.7 miles with cars honking at her and now this is her car's fault? Or State of NY's fault? If she went on that highway by mistake - she would stop as soon as she noticed it or would try to turn around but she kept on driving for another 1,7 miles!!!

  • I just watched the documentary and I am sickened by Daniel Schuler. I did not hear him mention a word about his daughter, Erin, or his three nieces. It was all about trying to clear Diane's name. (Am I the only one that noticed the picture of little Erin with a beer in her hand). After seeing the documentary, I decided to look up the latest. I was absolutely appalled to find out he was suing his in-laws that lost all of their children due to her drug/alcohol use. To think, I felt sorry for him..

  • I just saw this documentar, and dude, I absolutely loved your take on all of this! People You'll See in Hell has a really good article about this; I'm sure you'd like it a lot. They even mention it in the documentary!

  • Society wants so badly to believe that "something was wrong w/Aunt Diane"......it's difficult for us to accept that this woman, in a drunken/drugged stupor, killed so many innocent people. Had she lived, she would have been charged with several counts of Vehicular Homicide, plain and simple. Her husband initially lied about both her drinking and drug use, and that speaks volumes to me! We will never know the horror those kids experienced in the final moments of their lives..God bless them!

  • The forensic doctor was the same guy who testified in Casey Anthony case for her defense

  • @ajdfour yea and...

  • @ajdfour Big deal. He didn't impress me then either.

  • my opinion. watch the documentary, she wasnt stumbling or staggering into the gas station and according to the lady she only smoke pot when the kids were in bed. THC stays in your system for months if your a daily smoker. so even if she didnt smoke that day she would still fail a UA . there was smething truely wrong with her. seizure or brain wise

  • @SleighAL i watched the doc several times. but ur opinion suggests that you may have fallen asleep in certain parts. the toxicologist has stated that the THC in her system was so high that it was evident that she smoked anywhere from 15 mins or to an hour before the crash.

  • @SleighAL BS. You can pass a drug test in three days if you are smoking dope. Stays in your system for months? Sure if you are doing hair samples. The woman smoked a big fatty, drank at least pint of vodka, and chose to drive with her children and her nieces in the car. Some people just make me sick, like you, idiot.

  • @SleighAL The well done autopsy showed that there was NOTHING wrong with her brain, no indication of a stroke or any other disorder. The toxicology SAYS IT ALL! She was drunk! Her decision to do what she did was totally irresponsible. She was not this perfect wife, they did not have this perfect marriage. There was something going on with her psychologically and the family knows more than what they're telling. There was a vodka bottle FOUND in her van! Her husband is also a liar and in denial!

  • @SleighAL I disagree i know that Pot doesnt stay in your system that long and sorry not that much, your in as much denial as the family if you feel she had a seizure please explain the alcohol as well, i myself have seizures and they dont do that too you, you would know enough to pull over from the feeling you get you know something is wrong, obviously i dont think this was done on purpose but she was drunk and high this is why the accident happened, also the husband is an ass

  • @kylas124 of course u'd disagree bc ur not coming here 4 truth. ur coming here to protect the pot that u smoke. she had a seizure for 4 hours? really? well she did know enuff to pull over. she did pull over. TO THROW UP! she pulled over several times. pls ur embarrassing ur god damned self. u sound like an idiot.

  • @mrltavern I sound like an idiot??? I am sorry that would be you! to quote you, " your coming here to protect the pot that you smoke" are you fucking kidding?? I have never smoked Pot in my whole life nor have I done any drugs, i told you I had seizures, I know about the pot because I am a nurse and I am married to a cop, you are the one that sounds stupid with your stupid comments, THC doesnt stay in ur system 4 over a month!! get a life dont write me again ur very ignorant

  • @kylas124 U R A DAMNED MORON BC A TOXICOLIGIST EXPERT SAID THAT THE AMOUNT OF POT IN HER SYSTEM MEANT SHE SMOKED IT 15 MNS TO HOUR BEFORE SHE CRASHED. GO FUCK YOURSELF AND STOP COMING HERE TO MAKE UR DUMB UNINFORMED COMMENTS IF YOU DONT LIKE IT!

  • @mrltavern FUCK OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @kylas124 same to you ya silly cunt.

  • They said that it should have taken her 30 something minutes for her to get home but it took 4 hours? Why can't her family accept that she was drunk and high on pot? Two labs came to the same conclusion.

  • @adelgado75 lawyer dom barbara said that & he was wrong. i believe he said 2 hrs not 4. it wouldve taken 1hr 1/2 to get to Long Island from the camp. the 30 mins i think he was referring to was the time it would take to get from New City,NY where she left the Sunoco at 11 am to the tappan zee bridge where she stopped at about 1pm. would never take that long even in traffic. she had to have stopped or drove out of the way for it to take that long.

  • @mrltavern Witnesses were also saying she had stopped several times on the side of the road and was bent over on the ground in what seemed to them as she was throwing up and getting sick (most likely from all the alcohol consumed). This would also explain her stopping at the gas station to get pain killers, from a headache from too much alcohol or a hang over. Some facts are there and don't lie, I also can't believe how some people can't accept she was drunk and high either!

  • she could have had an absence seizure..

  • @maddy32406 yeah for four hours...

  • I don't understand why people r upset about seeing her dead body..I think people need to see it to understand what happens when u drink and drive..death is a part of life people..

  • one more thought is that I am not at all pleased with Daniel Schuler bringing forth a lawsuit. that's just not right. WHY WHY WHY cause more pain??? Are you out for money??? Ummm HELLO your brother-in-law lost ALL of his children... I'm not saying it's right but at least you still have your son. It's not right and I am VERY disappointed that you would have the balls to do that. You need to accept your wife had been drinking and smoking. It is what it is. No amount of money will change that.

  • I saw this documentary just today and my heart goes out to ALL the families involved. Especially the Hance family. I can't imagine the tremendous pain they must be going through. Instead of bashing the person who is no longer here who did this people. Give your support to the Hance & Gastardi family. Hance & Gastardi you are in my prayers.

  • why is everyone so anal about seeing her body..u've never seen a dead person before..c'mon get the sticks outta ure ass..

  • Daniel, his sister-in-law, and attorney Dominic Barbara infuriated me with their presposterous stance affirming that something else, ANYTHING else besides Diane's intoxication caused this tragedy. How they can still deny she was drunk/high after hearing ANOTHER medical examiner confirm the results is staggering.

  • @Rhino16161 Barbara makes my flesh crawl.

  • She was trashed, and the husband is a crazy dysfunctional abuser.

  • I agree, there is no mystery. There is no condition known to man that makes you toke up and pound Vodka right before you drive 4 children to their deaths, along with yourself and 3 other people. NONE. So stop with the "it was diabetes!" crap, because it wasn't. The autopsy covered that, and is available for your reading pleasure with a simple Google search. Your commentary was right on Mr. L, Daniel is a complete piece of shit!

  • I don't get some of you trying to make a mystery out of what happened with Diane Schuler. What part of.. this woman was shit faced drunk don't you get ? She left her cell phone behind on one of her stops because she was shit faced drunk not because she was afraid she would be tracked. You saw what her blood alcohol level was she even had undigested alcohol in her stomach that hadn't even had time to get into her blood stream yet showing how recent her last drink was before impact. No mystery!

  • She was straight control freak and they kept repeating she was a private person so why it out of the realm of possibility that she hide her drinking and pot use too. I mean her husband said she smoked to go to sleep then that right there said she had some issues. I get you want to believe the best in people but test after test doesn't lie regardless if she had absess or not she caused this tragedy by her actions.

  • Best wishes to the son who survived the accident, but I hope Diane and Dan burn for eternity for this

  • the sister in law said 'my family doesn't even know I smoke' ...DUH...so doesn't it make sense that since she hid her addiction so well, they would figure out that the driver had a secret life????

  • You are absolutely correct. The Husband KNEW she was a drunk and drug addict. The documentary showed all I needed to see and i am not a proffesional. This man does not want to be a father. I was pissed after watching this pathetic display and felt horrible for all of the innocent people involved. And he isn't one of them.

  • I feel bad for the little boy that survived. His dad is a piece of work and one day he's going to realize what a fucked up situation it was...is....will always be....

  • I totally agree with you. Schuler is a piece of crap. I felt that way a while ago.

  • Marijuana itself does not "stay" in your system, but the main chemical in marijuana, THC, does. It fact, it may stay in your system forever because it is stored in fatty tissues of various organs which means perhaps she DIDN'T smoke the day of/before the accident.i just don't understand why she'd take out her neices & kids with her but i guess if she flipped who the hell knows what one will do

  • @TheRandomNess77 the county coroner & toxicologists determined that the pot, or THC- whatever- was so high in her system that she must have smoked anywhere to 15 mins to an hour b4 the crash.

  • The hypocrisy of this man, to believe that he has been the only one wronged by his wife's irresponsibility, he is a man in denial. What is he attempting to accomplish by sueing his in-law other than causing more emotional pain to everyone involved? The evidence is indisputable, and his motivation to sue family is quite disturbing. Speaking of disturbing, you would think HBO would have blurred his wife's face at the accident scene. It was shocking and undignified to show a broken and dead body.

  • I've posted a follow up segment.

  • he's poorly mistaken

  • @Mrvampireist who?

  • Why does it seem that the sister-in-law and Daniel Schuler are always together? Is there something going on with them?

  • @Lisa1972Marie dont know. i know she's married. it seems that she's happily married.

  • I also was very upset that HBO included the picture of Diane in the wreck without even a warning.

  • @lalalaKels I'm really glad they did show Diane's body because it makes the story raw and real. A good dose of shocking reality is exactly what the public needs to drive home the weight of this tragedy. It's a perfect wake up call to any other parents (especially mothers) out there who are guilty of driving drunk with their kids in the car. Maybe Diane's reckless and irresponsible behavior is really a gift to the public to serve as a heartbreaking reminder of the damage her actions caused.

  • @lalalaKels no at the beginning it say viewer discretion advised at the beginning.

  • @lalalaKels it is tv ma

  • @lalalaKels I could not believe they showed that...how did the family allow that?

  • @lalalaKels There was a warning at the beginning of the film which clearly says " This film shows graphic scenes from the wreck", or something close to that. Dont fast forward to the so called good stuff and miss what is important in the beginning of the film. It does infact issue a warning that there are infact graphic images!!!!

  • I completely agree that the the woman was inebriated but the only thing that doesn't make sense to me is that every one of the witnesses that passed the van that day said Diane was driving fast but was making very precise movements. She wasn't swerving. The witnesses said that they thought she was just a woman in an emergency or some moron. Not one of them thought she was drunk. And at the level she was at, I just do not see how that was possible. It doesn't add up.

  • @lalalaKels There have also been other witnesses that said she WAS driving erratically (people had to swerve and honk their horns) and also the very children killed in the wreck had said on the phone that there was something wrong with her and that she was driving all over the place. There are skid marks on the road in different spots of the Taconic where people had to swerve out the way of Diane as she sped down the road. Perhaps there were parts where she drove straight, but not the whole way.

  • I found myself saying the EXACT same things when I watched the documentary. For shits n giggles, let's say she did have a medical emergency and mistook the vodka for water.. Why the pot? The experts said she had to have smoked an hour before the crash. She was pulled over at the rest stop, apparently vomiting, why didn't she seek help from someone there? Oh, she was too perfect for that. Right. The Hances trusted their little girls to these people. Dan should be ASHAMED of himself. Disgusting.

  • Well done, Mr. Tavern.......

  • i still cant believe thet showed her dead body !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i was not expecting that

  • @07mhernandez Me either. That was a shocker for me..

  • @07mhernandez yes shocking. i wonder what the purpose of that was.

  • I went lookinf ro more info ont his and came up with her brother saying that she was saying she thought she was on the cross bronx or some other road. I believe she got lost and was heading north. she missed the turn to head south towards the major deegan and the cross Bronx and started going north. I beleive she had no idea what she was doing becasue she was so drunk she was just driving aimlessly. She had a moment of clarity and realized she was going the wrong way.

  • Pass the spot every day myself. Still mind boggling! This Daniel Schuler needs to GO AWAY! Who's he gonna sue next The Bastardi's and Longo for being on the parkway that day Jerk!

  • I live in the area too, I still don't understand how this could have happened. So sad.

  • Watch the documentary if you can. They turn on each other before the end. Also listen to Daniel change his story about what they did that morning. Coffee then later he adds in breakfast. What does food do if your drinking? Yeah he is avoiding a lawsuit himself God be with the baby who survived!!

  • Im at a loss of words and can't get it out of my head as the documentary pretty much brought out the hard cold fact. If it were your wife would you stand there and say yeah she killed seven people. I see his side but don't sit there and get caught in so many lies as he did. I did not know about the lawsuits. Horrible man as if it were me I'd not be seen in NY ever again. Just glad children get a free ride into heaven. God bless all that have lost from this terrible tragedy.

  • You are exactly right! The 3 gentlemen that dies instantly had no time to anticipate the accident. Where as the older neices had 2 whole miles to fear what eventually happend. (A DEADLY CRASH) I just pray that they felt no pain at all. God has seven new angels now. I dont include Diane and maybe I'm wrong for that. But she had NO right to selfishly take the lives of those wonderful people. Love your channel and will definately be watching. Have a perfect evening!

  • I watched the documentary as well and I agree with you on many points. One of the most critical details of that event for me was her reasoning. I immediately wondered, why didn't she just pull over? And I think your reasoning is sound. Her toxicology reports state that she had alcohol and pot in her system. It is likely she wanted to avoid revealing that part of life to others and end up going to jail. I can't believe the husband is suing. >< Good video, respectable commentary and reasoning.

  • if i were married to daniel, i'd drink too

  • @777Giovanna lol.

  • @777Giovanna 4 kids are dead and you make jokes?

  • I too saw this documentary. I was very saddened and affected by this documentary. I simply dont understand why the husband doesnt acknowledge the fact that his wife was responsable for this crash. How could be so heartless suing the parents of the deceased children. I totally think that Diane found out that her husband was having an afair, and she want to take out herself and everyone else. toxicology test dont lie. Mr. Schuler is a total idiot! Great Video Sir!

  • @niteterrors2 thanks. I watched it again yesterday and you can't help think what those older girls were thinking in that car in their final moments as she was going the wrong way. you know these kids especially the oldest one knew she was driving the wrong way. i shudder to think the poor child died screaming.

  • @mrltavern subscribed

  • my first time seeing your video, at first i was worried that it may have been comedy, but you have alot of good points about the incident, kudos on the review, your opinion on this matter is very informitive, thank you for making this video, now im going to subscribe :)

  • The Husband is a liar end of story. Just horrible and sad. Be a man and admit that your wife was bombed and high while driving all of these kids around.

  • I just saw the documentary, we will never know what really happened, we can only conjecture. I hope everyone heals from all this. May the dead RIP!!!

  • You said it all man. AMEN. Who the HELL has the balls to do that?!

  • I just saw the documentary, I hope everyone heals from all this. May the dead RIP!!!

  • I recently watched this too. This woman was a complete idiot. People need to realize that the autopsy showed that she had alcohol in her system. And was way over the legal limit. She was drinking and driving not to mention smoking WITH her own kids and nieces in the car. Very sad story.

  • I totally agree with you on this...Its a tragedy what happened on that day and I think Daniel is mad because he didn't want children and now he feels "stuck" with Bryan who survived the crash...Its sad that he had to cause the family more pain with the lawsuit.

  • This guy is all about money now,,money to pay layers and insult those killed by this woman even more,,,she had 4 hours to get high and drunk,,the Doc said it was a 35 minute home,,,so why it took over 4 hours?? Also news interviews days after the crash he denied they never smoked,,but low and behold they admitted they did to relax,,especially HER,,,Listen Mt Schuler,,stop blaming others and look in the mirror,,,

  • She was a control freak, had serious OCD and an obvious Mommy fixation....she tested positive for alcohol and pot on two independent lab tests, she was loaded! We will never know why she did what she did..I am so saddened by all the deaths that occured on that day, BUT she was responsible. I am sure the children were questioning her actions and she gave them some BS answer so she would not be in trouble w/the rest of the family. How horrifying it must have been for them...

  • Also, if a car was coming off the ramp at the same time she was going on, there most likely wouldn't have been any fatalities, because the cars would probably only be going 30 or 40 mph at that point. What a tragic story. She was drunk and high, and was afraid to call for help for fear of going to jail.

  • @VIG74 I dont know if you have seen the doc or not, but there WAS a car coming off the ramp while she was getting on. They blew their horn, waved their arms, did everything they could do to get her attention. They had to get on the grass to avoid being crashed into AND they called 911 to report this incident..drunk people kill other people everyday! They get behind the wheel of a car while drinking and it becomes a weapon. That is why they go to jail! She would be charged with murder if living

  • Agree with everything you said. Watching the documentary, it seemed like a lot of the people interviewed said they didn't see anything wrong with her. And that there was no indication that she was intoxicated. I'm wondering if that's because they are afraid they will be held liable and get sued. I'm surprised she made it as far as she did before crashing.

  • Being a recovering alcoholic who has a history of drinking and driving, though I am sober now, eight years, I think your assessment is dead on. I watched the documentary and you could see the knowing look on the husbands face when he was denying his wife's pot use. I really think that he is trying to play the fool. He knows the truth, but wants to put distance from himself and the fact that he probably KNEW that his wife should have drove the truck, and he the van. He is a fool.

  • @AV5Z4 I noticed that look too. It wasn't convincing. he changed stories on both the pot smoking she did and that she didnt drink. he told NY reporters days after the tragedy she never drank & then admitted on Larry King that they drank vodka by campfire.

  • @mrltavern Yeah, I think he is trying to keep from getting sued for having knowledge of their partying at the lake the night prior to the crash. As I was watching the documentary, I was convinced by the end that this was the case. That is why the high profile investigator put distance between himself and the family. He knew the true story, and realized that NOTHING would ever satisfy their search for the "truth" or "reason" for the crash.

  • Im So MADD !! All Them Innocent People She KILLED ! And Dontt NoBodyy No What Was Wrong With Her... All You Can Do Is Pray That Somethin Like Tht Nevver Happens Againn.... Buhh Its No Point In Bein MAD At her.. Causse You Cantt Bring Any Of Them Backk To Lifeeee !!!!!

  • what is wrong with you people you dont know what really happened

  • Mr. L is right! I am disgusted that anyone would act like someone who killed seven innocent people and herself in a drunken, high state did nothing wrong. Instead of acting like they were the only victims, Dan and his sister should be humbled and compassionate towards the other victims' families. Also, why was Dan's mom bragging on camera about how she spoiled her son? His behavior through all of this clearly demonstrates that, being spoiled is not a good thing.

  • The husband is just trying to focus the blame on someone else. He seems to be very into protecting the image of his wife and his family, so why not officially pass the blame to someone else? The vehicle wasn't at fault here, it was the driver, his wife, who was the problem, and if he did know of her drinking habits and/or mental issues, he BETTER go to jail. If anything as the brother in law, I'd sue dan schuler because his wife killed my kids and nieces.

  • are you crazy???the poor husband is greiving and of course he is trying to protect his wife any great husband would

  • If he is bitching about being a single parent and how hard it is, then maybe he is doing it for money. I think by trying to sue his brother in law he's hoping to OFFICIALLY pass the blame to someone other than his wife, so that he and his wife's images aren't tarnished. It wouldn't be his fault for not seeing her drinking problem because to him it's the fault of the vehicle and the person who owns it. This father looks like a dick head. I just don't see how this case wouldn't be thrown out beca

  • @rubbaduckgurl27 i think it's not only about money. if a grand jury is held, which very well may happen if the Bastardis & Longos r demanding, & its found that Daniel knew her condition, mental state, health problems, he will be going to jail. he will be found an accessory. the prob w/this case & why theres so much speculation is 1:it's a mystery 2: it never went to court bc there's no suspect. like I said, if Diane was stopped on the road by cops theyd thrown her in jail. sadly it didnt happen

  • I personally think you should keep your opinion to yourself . you know NOTHING .

  • @ellen586 wow thats a really well thought out comment. it seems by all of these comments most of who agree w me is that i do know something. it's YOU who just said NOTHING.

  • Great post Mr. L. Great observations! I just finished watching this program & I have to watch it again. I'm picking my jaw up off the floor. The toxicology does not lie, it was tested by at least 2 different labs. I noticed the medication list had Ambien & Oxycodone on it as well. She was a pot smoker & a closet alcoholic. I agree with you, this husband Daniel is some piece of work.

  • not funny-we live near a woman arrested 2 weeks before DS for doing the same things with older kids in her car no one was hurt, is everyone that stupid?? I know there was a man pulled over for being on the wrong side as well-you have to admit there is a real problem.

no kidding-so uncool for showing her dead body way un KOOL

  • @jam1301 I didn't show her dead body in this- let's be clear. that was HBO. but that had to be approved by the family. as to why the family would approve such a photo- beyond me.there is a moment in the HBO doc where Jay Shuler is looking at all the negative comments on the internet about them. she states that she doesnt want Bryan to see them some day. i'm sure Bryan wouldnt want to see a picture of his dead mom's body one day. makes no sense.

  • @jam1301 oh and I've been driving the Westchester Putnam Rockland roads for years and the roads and the signs have never been a problem. it's the ASSHOLES in the cars that are. the tailgaters, lane cutters, drunks, speed freaks and law breaking fucks that all need a refresher course in the rules and laws of the road.

  • Daniel is lucky the other family of victims hasn't sued him yet. I assume this family has enough dignity to leave the situation alone and move on with their lives. They are smart enough not to add the the suffering ALL families experienced! Thanks for this reaction Mr. Tavern...I too, am appalled by Daniel and his sister. .

  • @slabem sorry, i know my comment is 2 months late, but I wanted to ask, did you mean the family where the daughters died? or the family that lost the 3 older men? The unrelated family of the 3 men did sue Daniel... Just throwing that out there.

  • @Kayiko That pig is also suing the driver of the car his murdering wife hit!

  • Hi Mrs L

I live not too far from this accident, and truth be told they HW department placed better signs there due to the ongoing problem of people going the wrong way. a friend from the daily yorktown just wrote the article about the new signs-but people that are going the wrong way are really STUPID. her husnad was a creep-and so many people were responsible for this who the hell put those kids in her car?? and let her drive away?? i just dont get it. everyone lost here

  • @jam1301 Its MR.L-- I'm not a broad. yes you're correct. i recall the entire state go through new highway signs since a few years ago before this accident. and then they just started a program recently changing street signs. but the highway program was many years before this. there is nothing wrong with the road system in NY. aside from the potholes we have best roadways in the US. what will come of this, when ur goin the wrong way a clown car will pull up honk & theyll all get out and dance

  • Listen, being diabetic, an abcess, or stroke do not explain why she was drinking and getting high!!! It only adds to the conclusion that she was irresponsible! Why is she drinking and doing drugs if she has these medical issues? Something was definitely wrong with her! I had a medical emergency once while driving with my son in the car. what did I do? I pulled over and called for help! That is what you're supposed to do! Her family is in major denial always trying to come up with excuses.

  • @chaparrita411 whether theyre n denial or not, its none of our business. did she drink? yes. did she smoke pot? yes. and they did admit to that in the interviews, i understand they didnt say she was a drunk. but who wants to go on national tv and tell everyone hey my wife was a drunk and a druggie!? i mean rly. think ab that.

  • @ringu217 regardless of the excuses you and her family try to make, this all could have been prevented. She made the conscience decision to drink heavily and do drugs. Facts are facts. The only people stating she had a ruptured abscess is her family. Not the autopsy report. Her husband trying to point the finger at his brother in law is heartless, suing the state looks like he's money hungry, and that is disgusting.

  • The fact is that this woman was intoxicated & had children under her care! She should have pulled over & called 911 if she was in "pain" or needed medical attention! Regardless of what her family & friends say about her, facts are facts. Autopsy says she was drunk & high! She was irresponsible. Now, her husband really is blaming everyone but his wife. Only one at fault here is Diane. Watch the suerveillance video! No medical emergency, just stupidity! Unfortunately she took 7 innocent lives!

  • @chaparrita411 how was she supposed to coherently call 911 if shes disoriented and obviously doesnt kno which way is which on the highway? wut a crock of shit.

  • in her medical records, they also showed Ambien..a heavy sleeping pill...addictive and stoners love them...

  • @ThePryorsplanet yes i forgot to mention that in the clip. some one in this thread also reminded me. that makes you do crazy shit.

  • @ThePryorsplanet thats true! i was prescribed ambien for a short while and it did not help me sleep it didnt even make me drowsy. she smoked pot to help her sleep everynight. and i wudve too if i had to take care of 2 kids, do laundry, wash dishes, donate to school functions, work an 8 hr full time job, take the kids to and from school...my question is: did the husband do anything to help her out? if not, then its no fucking wonder she was high! im not condoning it by any means...just saying.

  • @ringu217 this ringu217 is a 911 denier and truther and flat out whack job adios.

  • great documentary...the denial in the family is very sad as well.

  • Remember they said Diane's cell phone was left on the side of the freeway when they made one of their emergency stops. Why would she leave it? Did she forget or did she not want the police to track her where abouts? I think the latter since she refused to answer her cell phone when her brother and other relatives tried to call her back. The whole situation could have been prevented had she stopped, answered her phone and waited for help!
