ya have to beat staff ghost by at least 7 seconds and the place that says ur time B4 you exit, it says at the bottom an expert ghost has been found

I play on Manual with the Wii Wheel, it's just practice, you're not bad, maybe you can try the manual...

So how do I know if I unlocked the staff ghost or not? I was expecting to see "you have unlocked a staff ghost for this course" or something. Or its just you beat the ghost and thats it? Can someone fill me in, I'm getting confused.
