@FriedFriez it will be good eventually if you keep up the jazz repertoire. Whether you prefer it's style or not, the talent is obvious, but i can see where you'd not like it or even understand it fully (no offense intended). I'm working through new levels of classical composition myself and it definitely takes time and acclimation.
Give it a few more tries a little later on in the year - god forbid you get to enjoy that much more of what music has to offer, right?
ari is one of my favorite drummers but I really wonder how much longer he'll be able to play before his technique takes a serious toll on his his arms/hands
I really don't believe that it will. I think much of the apparent tension is illusory. Watch his fingers and you'll see they are controlling the majority of what he does. I don't think he's putting that much of a strain on his wrists.
@TheLastPictureShow I completely agree. Any player of that caliber knows that the key to good technique is lots of control and the least amount of strain possible. Everyone's body is different, gotta find out what works for you. And the way Ari plays is what he found worked for him.
he is amazing. Some of the things he plays sound like things Bill stewart plays, and that is not meant to take away any credit from ari of course. Those same things can be traced back through time from TW and Jack Dejohnette and Roy Haynes.I saw him in NY at FAT CAT and here in london too.
Hey - no doubt about it. Ari is amazing. No doubt about it. I can honestly say, I don't doubt it at all. Doubt? Not me. I have absolutely no doubt. Seriously, I'm completely doubtless. Doubt.
ther's no doubt at all he is amazing, that's why i said it. do you know what "no doubt about it" means? maybe english isn't your first language. that's cool. you'll get it one day
ocsoundwaves was saying that there is no doubt that Ari is amazing. O_o That there is no doubt about it. You're making my head hurt.
A) What does Apreshio mean?
B) Why did you just say you don't understand what he said and then say the same thing...but say that you know what he said..? My head is seriously hurting.
