Why is Rick Warren saying Christians should be as dedicated as the Hitler Youth in nazi Germany and the Communist Party Youth in the Cultural Revolution? Weren't these cultic subgroups in manifestations of great evil? Why would he parise their effectiveness and dedication?????
Oh wait! He was one of the Western Dominionist televangelists who was behind Uganda's "Kill The Gays Bill," then he disowned it and slithered away from his Ugandan disciples when he was exposed.
To believe in "something" so absurdly as to leave behind logic and reason IS like unto Hitler's youth. Rather we should give ourselves to thought and not become radical on simply a belief, it's too dangerous instead give yourself to logic and reason, in this way we will seek truth, suppress dogma and continue to develop our understanding and by this we will keep our species alive as best WE can. If you need faith, have it but live with reasoning so not to act on those things we WANT to be truth.
The Illuminati’s Council on Foreign Relations has enlisted the services of evangelicals, Pastor Rick Warren and Richard Land, to marshall tens of millions of evangelical Christians in a global crusade to convert humanity to the 'New Global Spirituality'.
These are 2 agents of Rockefeller's Council on Foreign Relations, a subversive org. working towards the destruction of a free America & installation of the One World government.
Rick Warren are working towards a one "unified" spiritual "body".
This is not the middle ages or the dark ages, evolve or perish. Rick Warren is a dangerous psychotic homophobe who speaks for no-one but himself and needs to be shunned.
Hitler and Chairman Mao did whatever it took to spread death and dictatorship. Nazi Germany and Red China were evil. Jesus, in Rick Warren's view, is a force for good. So Rick Warren is wondering why can't we use the principles of Machiavelli to promote Jesus, which he believes is a force of good. Is doing whatever means necessary to achieve your goal evil or is the goal itself that is evil? If Warren is not interested in arming Christian militias, I don't see why people are so upset about this!
I think that it would be more noble to refer to the Founding Fathers of the US Constitution such as Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, John Jay, James Madison, and Alexander Hamilton.
How on Earth did he not see that this analogy is stupid & that his views are cultish? It's scary how even the leaders of religious movements can't see the harm of mindless devotion...
Warren is on a very, very destructive path here. It is senseless to expect that using methods previously tried by totatlilitarian movements will avoid the same pathological results, no matter how good the cause is felt to be. He should be resisted forcefully in this.
I'm certainly NOT a fan of RW. I consider him a false prophet...THAT BEING SAID, I think this video actually made me agree w/ him at least on this 1 thing & I think it makes YOU look worse than it does Warren.
I see is him saying that if Christians were as radically sold out to Jesus & his teachings as Nazis & Chinese were to Hitler & Mao & their teachings, that this world would be a different place. he did not say to ACT like them in violence etc. I could see myself saying something like this.
Evanegelical Christians are the Fascists of the 21st century. Only difference is they hide their hate behind religion, and too few have the balls to call them out.
@sneeptheelite You may as well congratulate yourself for having balls, since nobody else probably will. While Warren is definitely being fascistic here, Evangelical Christians are not generally that--in fact most protest violence is left wing in nature, as it must be, since agitation is a revolutionary tactic, designed to provoke and discredit the ruling structure.
Protest Violence? That isn't how Fascists operate, as you should know. They prefer to infiltrate the establishment, exactly how Warren and his bigoted pals in the TEA party are doing.
@sneeptheelite It's a good point you make that Fascist street violence wasn't really protest in nature, but I mean that Fascism and its imitator Naziism used organized street violence as a tactic, and that these movements were revolutionary in nature--so modern protest violence, so far as it is revolutionary and provocative, has that in common with those movements. You won't find those features in Christian conservative activism. As for infiltration, that's more communist than fascist.
Ill just throw this out there again: You totally missed the point. He mentioned Hitler because he took a pretty small amount of people and almost changed the world. Hes not telling anyone to emulate Hitler you dunce, hes telling them that if they unite they can change the world FOR THE BETTER. You can make anything sound ban when you take it out of context. How can you be so stupid?
The Nazis thought they were changing the world for the better too. It would've been a better world, at least if you were Aryan. I'm sure Warren would also like to make a better world-if you are Christian, that is.
This was a disturbing analogy made by the speaker in the video.
To compare National Socialism & Communism to the Christian faith is wrong on his part. The Church is not supposed to be a "global expansion" of the Kingdom of God (especialy made by mankind). Only Christ can establish the restoration.
I'm affraid that the "spiritual awakening" being spoken of here is not in line with the teachings of Christ. In the last days, the Church shall be few (not "global")
First off, the title of this video should be changed.
He is not urging Christians to be dedicated like Hitler's youth. He is saying, if people can be devoted to evil ideals and greatly affect the world, imagine what would happen if people would be dedicated to God's ideals which are better. Why aren't we consumed with hatred for evil and love for God's ways which will fulfill our every want and need?
Your point of view depends on your view point. Look thru' the lens of positivity.
The problem is that RW holds up totalitarianism, subjugation, mindless obedience, and collectivism as virtues that people should practice to create a better world. Nazis believed they were the good guys and that they were "fighting evil" (a Jewish-Communist conspiracy to control the world). If you wish to see the fruits of RW's "Trust and Obey" ideology, look at the "Purpose-Driven" nation of Uganda with it's execution of gays.
Wow. That kind of comparison isn't just offensive... it's criminally stupid. The fact that this guy is lauded as some sort of inspirational mega-pastor says a lot about evangelicals these days. None of it good.
You seem a bit worked up. As for "Sounds like everyone heard the Nazi part and forgot the rest of the message?", well... I think the Nazi part is intrinsic to Warren's message and that's the problem.
"Whatever it takes" is a doctrine from Hitler or Machiavelli, not Jesus.
P.S. Your free to your views, i'm just a little tired of the negativity that christians, CHRISTIANS, plague the net with. If you're one of the people posting clips and comments about people you believe to be false prophets, maybe you should stop and think, next time, about what you're really achieving. With all of the encouragement and 'AMENS" you get from others like-minded to you, i'm sure it feels good when you blog or post, but you're not that brilliant
I think everyone who is making a deal of this is pathetic.
Talk about a divided church! You should probably spend more time reading the word, praying or reaching your community for Christ than sitting in your chair at your computer expressing you twisted, graceless views on a man who's done more for the kingdom than you can ever hope to do.
If you disagree with RW then maybe you shouldn't be watching him on youtube. Yiour not talking gospel here, just picking at doctrines. There are many who disagree with your doctrines and I certainly don't see alot of them posting useless clips on the net about it. Get over yourselves. Now, if you dont mind, I'm off to love someone.
Sounds like everyone heard the Nazi part and forgot the rest of the message? I think he's using something people can relate to, things people will remember. Passion, dedication. Depends on how you look at it ay...up to you?
The way the video portrays Rick is twisted and is biased based on the title.
Warren is simply comparing the past movements of passion people had to follow their leaders.
How much greater, then, if we have the passion to follow the Savior? That's what Rick's point is - not using Nazi or such methods to instill upon our youth.
He is challenging our youth to this:
"If these people followed someone who is evil and were passionate, how much more passionate should we be about Jesus, who is Good?"
dude.. this is sooooo lame? why did you go through the trouble of getting tapes about nazis and then combine it with a friggin church sermon? You can do that with anything......
I can see what Mr. Warren meant by that. I take it as a positive message but blindspot that he did not see IMO is that because of the deprived nature of humans, it is much easier to cooperate to do evil than good. It has always been harder to do the will of God than to do evil.
You are amazing Jimmy! Jimmy I want you to take a good look at yourself in the mirror and see if you see truth in it... I pray that God will give you the ability to seek what is the truth and what is not.
Why mention Nazi Germany? Why not tell people to be like Apostle Paul or John or like the numerous Christians who were burned at the stake during the Spanish Inquisition for saying "No" to the Pope and clinging onto Christ and Christ alone?
Do not be captivated by philosphy of Rick Warren -
Colossians 2:8 -
See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ
@konman001 Because that isn't going to provoke the same amount of thought. We're constantly being told about the apostles and other groups of persecuted christians. Warren uses this example because he wants to reach people who would otherwise just switch off at the sound of "....the Christians in rome....bla bla bla."
@konman001 Also, I think you're missing the point of the verse. He means 'street smarts'...like: "there is no real truth, everyones ideas are true to them". The Truth of Christ is not based off common knowledge (not most of it, anyway) so Paul warns people to not be fooled by people using non-Chistian philosophies_ not non-christian examples or stories.
Paul never said that we should use NON-christian examples in ministry. Bible says that we shouldn`t be like Pagans because they lack God`s perfection:
Matthew 5:47-48 - And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. . . . and then there is:
3 John 1:7 - It was for the sake of the Name that they went out, receiving no help from the pagans.
@konman001 Again, you continue to miss the whole POINT of the argument. Those verses refer to us not doing as they do_ Warren is looking at the passion of the nazi's and is saying "hey, wake up christians! Nazi's are bad and yet they were devoted and were very successful, with God on our side and pure hearts why aren't we devoting ourselves like them!?".
@konman001 Its like the point made in the bible about a father, though wicked as we all are, still gives good things to his son, so how much more would our father in heaven give us who He loves. The devil has invented nothing, only perverted God's good creation. Hitlers youth, though perverted and misguided, were very devoted, so how much more, with God's will, should we be devoted and succeed in doing Gods will. This is not a pagan idea.
The point of the story was not the fact that your father gives the things you need. . .but the fact that you should not worry and run after the things that pagans do.
Once again. . . you are twisting scripture.
You know who else twisted scriptures? - SATAN. . . all you need to do is read Matthew 4.
@konman001 You know what, we'll just have to agree to disagree. I'm certain of Gods word just as I'm sure you are. We obviously both care alot about the truth, thatswhy I've giventwo years to ministry college and Im sure you've done similar. I just think that when my opponent compares me to Satan is where I draw the line. I've seen people twist scripture i dont beleive i was at all, thats all i want to finish on. God bless you in all you do for His kingdom and thank you for the discussion. Zach.
I did not compare you to Satan - I simply stated the fact that in Matthew 4 he also twisted words of the scripture. By doing so he was trying to get Jesus to commit a sin.
Twisting the words of the Bible to conform it to your own philosphy is a recipe for a disaster - unfortunately this is extactly what Rick Warren does. My hope is that you will not be mislead by wolves in sheeps clothing and that you will become more dependent on wisdom of God not on wisdom of men.
@konman001 Christ-like principles, examples from the world around us, i find nothing wrong with this and i'm not just a beginner with Gods word either so I hope you don't think I'm just pulling out ideas from my head. Cheers.
What he's talking about (went right over some of your heads) is the strength of the human spirit. The Nazi's r a good example. Look at what they accomplished (horrific atrocities) through their devotion to a madman. What could we accomplish with that same devotion to the teachings of Jesus? Loving our neighbor, feeding the poor, etc? I know some of u just wanna hate religion and thats ok, but don't be so blinded as to believe that Warren is saying we should do what the Nazi's did
First of all, the Nazi's are not a good example of anything. Second of all, how do you know he's not suggesting their tactics? I'm a Christian, and I don't trust any man who uses the Nazi's as a comparison to how we should be.
And what tactics would those be? We should persecute, beat, torture those who don't believe like we do? Do you really think that's what he means? Give me a break.
And the Nazi's are actually a great example. A group of people so influenced by an evil man that they did horrible things. Change the influence to a positive one and what could they have done?
You mean to tell me out of all the great examples there have been, such as the postle Paul, Peter, and those who were so devoted to impacting the world for Christ they were martyred for it by those like the Nazi's. Why don't we use the Roman's as an example too while we're at it. After all they were so devoted to their earthly leaders, they slaughtered Christians by feeding them to lions, boiling them in oil, stoning and beatings, not to mention crucifiction. Please, give me the break.
The strength of the human spirit? Are you kidding me?? If it wasn't for the spirit of God working through those who believe in Him, we would all be going to H E Double hocky sticks for an eternity someday. The Nazi's did what they did because they were weak and contolled by a ruthless dictater, which is one more reson why they shouldn't have been used as an example.
@goldendancer7 Was the human spirit thing too cheezy for you?I thought is was a stretch too lol. It's true though. The german people were weak and easily influenced, but they still made a huge impact. If they had been influenced by Christ maybe they would have done something amazing. Anyway, listen to more of Rick Warren's videos and stop getting caught up in the whole Nazi thing
@bruceewilson Have you even read the Gospels? Yes, yeas they should. That doesn't mean it'll look like Hitlers Youth, but the Kindom of God require even more passion and devotion.
Rick Warren mentions Nazi Germany because he is looking for blindingly obedient servants who are willing to sacrifice everything for his Saddleback cult. Nazi youth had unflinching loyalty to Hitler and were mislead but if you want to be a Rick Warren fanatic then it`s your choice.
Radicals change the world? - I though the Bible said that the "meek" shall inherit the earth
Global expansion of the Kindom of God? - I thought that the Kingdom of God was not of this world
so what he's saying is.....those men were evil, but their methods were correct? they are all the same. thankfully there are enough checks and balances in the US to prevent this kind of craziness reaching the proportions of what he talked about with those others. fanaticism of any kind is unhealthy and dangerous. i for one will do my part to keep fighting for diversity, freedom of speech and independent thought.
Warren is a dumbshit. China has nothing to do with communism now days. They're probably closer to the old school republican party. Isn't he rich? I can't stand how he uses Lenin for his right wing shit and Chairman Mao. And Warren is an arrogant shit if he thinks every Christian thinks like him. As a gnostic Christian I don't like him.
holy crap he actually said it, I didn't think he would that's hilarious.
crazy as I'm sure his followers are (there are some craaaazy americans), I hope they don't ever try to emulate the mass killings of communism and fascism.
DOES THE GUY REMIND YOU OF JIM JONES? WHERES THE KOOLAIDE
Jesus did not build churches he built a following he left people with the message not temples. If your teachers are living in huge homes and driving high end cars are they following the teachings of Jesus?
I have many questions however I would never ask someone like this for any answers....
(Isaiah 8:20) To the law and to the testimony: IF THEY SPEAK NOT ACCORDING TO THIS WORD, IT IS BECAUSE THERE IS NO LIGHT IN THEM. (Case closed on all of this new age, Ray Comfort rhetoric. Im in! So wasnt the rich man in Luke 16.)
(1 Corinthians 15:50) Now this I say, brethren, THAT FLESH AND BLOOD CANNOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. (The Kingdom of God is not for flesh and blood. The last time I checked, anyone alive was composed of flesh and blood. (Think for a while.) Warren is a practical Roman Catholic, Bible rejecting, KINGDOM NOW builder. This is what happens to Baptist, or any other Christian who ignores or changes the very words of the Bible.
(Ecclesiastes 1:9) THE THING THAT HATH BEEN, IT IS THAT WHICH SHALL BE; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. (Those who fail to learn the lessons of history are condemned to repeat them.)
"what would happen if Christians would stop trying to copy the world's methods and go back to getting their marching orders from Jesus and His word alone!"....what would happen????
Well, there wouldn't be very many Christians, or would there? That's something I'd like to see, but let me ask you, how many of us would truly commit to the original teachings of Yeshua? I reckon very few, sadly, including myself :(
don't forget...RW has been all over the planet "training" pastors to follow the Purpose Driven model that he claims is the right way to be...he also says that churches must change or die...it's all about going global...PT Barnum would have loved Rick Warren
I am no fan of Rick Warren per se, but I do believe that it is clealy an act of intellectual dishonesty, prejudice and malice on your part to say that Rick Warren is here asking people to be as dedicated as Nazis. You are using a means of information to disinform people.
Remember that the Crusades and the Inquisition started with the same sort of foaming at the mouth style of rhetoric. Those spiritual tyrants had personal aspirations of power and control, conveniently using God to intimidate the masses, just as their current counterparts do.
Nothing is more frightening than a spiritual leader demanding unquestioned loyalty by claiming "God told me to". No rational parent should willingly allow their child to be indoctrinated by this sort of thing.
while I don't really agree with the parallell of this clip...I would want to hear the whole message in context...i believe this is being quoted in context.
...Listening to this I think what he was trying to say is ....if people could dedicate their lives to a mortal crazy human being.he even labels him as a symbol of evil. He references other leaders in this message....why can't we as Christians do the same for a God who gives everything according to his will.
I can judge people all day pal, in fact Jesus commanded His desciples to judge others, but to judge righteously, the Bible also tells us that we will know who really is for Christ and who is agianst Christ by the persons fruits, I'm judging Rick by his fruits.
Also, if you are so quick to dish out advice, why not take your own? By your standards, you too are a messenger of Satan, simply because you are judging me and yet you do not know me.
rick has founded his church, has written classic books, has traveled all over the world preaching the good news. if that doesnt qualify you as a man of God, then I dont know what does.
Writing books doesn't mean you're a follower of God. Look up him and his Africa problem and his connections to the Family in D.C. and their beliefs. Not something Christ would approve of if you believe in his writings and his sermons.
So if I had a church, flew around the world, wrote a bunch of books, then I too would be a man or God? Boy, you sure are brainwashed, real good, there might not be any undoing for you.
Listen, like I said before, you will know people by there works. The man is all about the money, he backs down quite a bit when it comes to telling people the truth and has been spreading a newage religion around that has a Jesus sticker on it, he's a wolf in sheeps clothing.
of course that makes him a man of God. the whole purpose of the great commission is to fly around the world preaching the good news. that's exactly what warren has does. he's a true man of God, period.
o my god.. if the thing that this fella wishes happens ther would b chaos.. i jus don understand one thing.. why d hell these guys always preach "this eligion is d best" rest eevrythin is bad... these fellas r worse than the guys in wall street.. the criminals of this century
So, what's th problem? Are we to conclude that because Nazis were committed we should not be? Is the reasoning like this: (1) Whatever Nazis did was evil. (2) Nazis ate breakfast. (3) Therefore eating breakfast is evil.?
Really, if you wat to criticize Warren, look at his shallow understanding of the gospel, not this reasonable challenge to commitment.
This man is a madman . he emulates people, HITLER,LENIN and MAO- men who destroyed millions of lives and created rivers of blood in quest of an idea that they deemd "perfect". He is anything but godly.
jxh261: So, you think the Bible's commandments to NOT kill, steal, lie, commit adultery, & to love your neighbor are all BS??? You're scary, & I hope you live very FAR from me.
Oh God...What kind of crap is this?? Dumb Christians attacking other Christians... No wonder the world thinks Christians are fools... All they do is attack!! Read your bible, and save people, don't attack them... pray for rick warren if you don't like his message... Nazi's were not Christians. Most of them were secular. The ones in the upper order like Hitler were heavily involved in the Occult called the Thule Society, led by Dietrich Eckart. The History channel had a two-hour program on it...
germany was staunchly anti christian for over 300 years. germany followed a hard line doctrine of 'blood and iron' handed to them from bismark. all the things that led up to that maniacle debatchy that the world suffered under the nazis was a sympton of basterdized substandard preaching from godless men leading organization calling themselves the church of the living god. what sounds familiar in this compared to the 'purpose driven life'?
Well, I know Jeff and I've read his book. Indeed, some material I sent to him made its way into the book ( it was a minor contribution ). So I'm familiar with Sharlet's treatment of the Family and I generally support his perspective.
And, I'm well aware that Warren is repeating a Coe anecdote almost word for word: indeed. But, figuring out what that means is the harder task.
Let me suggest that, as a reference point, "The Family" doesn't put this into the necessary perspective.
ok ane1 who thinks that christianity needs to be less secularised...think bout this...scientology is being lambasted by other churches and "devoted" christians as being nothing more than sum money hungry scheme by businessmen. u donate money over time to be taught more and become closer to the religion....duznt this sound familiar?...church donations and confessions to gain repentence to become "closer" to God. where does that money go? back into the church thats where. its all a scheme.
this guy is ridiculuous. he's just as bad as fuckin hitler spreading his mindless teachings to indoctrinate these youth. if there was a god...and i say if there...he'd prolly feel angry by the methodology of this prick...trying to act like hitler. wat happened under hitler was pure evil...and wat would happen here would be pure evil. religion has caused nothing but problems for centuries. and he now wants to revive it for the sake of pure wealth for himself and the church. fuck off please.
Rick warren donates ALL the proceeds from his books, speeches, and etc to charity. you have an anti-christian point of view and that's fine, but attacking Rick warren as being on par with Hitler as evil is what is ridiculous.
i am deeply disturbed that Obama could celebrate this man. I don't want Warren's fanatical christian army coming for me, or going anywhere, for that matter.
I am a Christian, but I want no part of this type of Mega Church "socialized" theology.
The danger I see other than the ones others have already mentioned here is that in order to get to a MEGA church status you have to give up a lot of what is actually written in the Bible to attract the masses and before you know it is no longer a religion, it is more of a political social movement, in the case, hiding behind the cross.
Part 2: Drawing a line that believers need to be as encouraged as Nazi Youth is not only rediculous, it is down-right irresponsible - and I for one declare that he does NOT speak for me or my family. Come on Rick ... consider your motives and what you are trying to do before speaking. Are we not called to proclaim the Gospel, period? Well then, whatever the rest is has to fall into the category of you talking to hear yourself talk. Geesh ...
Rick Warren preaches ANOTHER gospel, NOT the gospel of Jesus Christ. His is a social gospel that does not change hearts nor grants salvation. He is antichrist.
Amen, & the interfaith dialogue/ecumenical movement not only involves a social gospel, but it is specifically anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian liberation theology (Sabeel, etc), pushing government leaders (US Pres., Tony Blair, etc) for Jerusalem *not* to be exclusively under Israel's control.
Well, any other questions why this nation is dubbing Rick Warren as, "America's Pastor"? I'm sorry, but I am a Pastor, and I am wondering when he will use this time and audience to proclaim the gospel as the Disciples did. I realize some of this may (or may not) be taken out of context ... but aren't we seeing just a little too much self-glorifying here?
Saddleback Church hosted a Holocaust survivor forum last year. Why don't you post that video?I was at that rally in Orange county. Why don't you post the entire thing instead of just the parts that can be twisted to make Rick appear to say things that he didn't say or believe? Why didn't you post what the global giants are that he wants to fight?Things like poverty,hunger,HIV/AIDS? As black woman,I would never have gone to his church if they held the beliefs you suggest.
Rick Warren's two top 'giants' PEACE is supposed to address are 1) 'spiritual emptiness' (not being born again according to Warren) and 2) 'egocentric leadership', i.e. that which, says Warren, is not modeled after the behavior of Jesus.
Human material needs come 3rd, 4th and 5th in the priority chain.
Does anyone NOT see what he is saying? "Whatever it takes..." Sounds kind of reminiscent of Hitler's Germany. I mean, seriously, look at the similarities:Germany, at the time of Hitler, was suffering economic depression. They needed someone to blame:Jews and those not of Aryan blood. Today: America, economic depression, need someone to blame...Gays, Jews,Hispanics...history is repeating itself.Don't think that what happened in Germany could never happen here. It's coming.
"And we utterly destroyed them, as we did unto Sihon king of Hesbon, utterly destroying the men, women, and children, of every city. But all the cattle, and the spoil of the cities we took for a prey to ourselves." (Deuteronomy 3:6-7) WHATEVER IT TAKES!
The power of prayer and faith can heal and bring happiness. The real tragedy is that the people that are helped by this don't realize that this power is really coming from within.
DREAMY2 - do you believe this power should be used like the Nazi's did and the Chinese government does today, as Rick Warren suggests at 2minutes 10seconds in this video?
I'm disgusted by his mixing up Nazism with being religious in America.
ncr100: my answer is no. I am an atheist and I reject any form of brainwashing. We should live as individuals rather than a component of a giant machine.
The situation of China today is different. I know many university graduates from China, they all dislike the corruption in Chinese government. They know the domination by 1 political party is the root of problems.
These shows that brainwashing is not a big problem in China today (but suppression of free speech is).
rick warren is the personification of evil in a hawaiian shirt..a dangerous man who is getting away with brainwashing people with his Christian hate speech--right in front of our very eyes. on Jan. 20th he'll be vaulted onto the world stage to be honored, admired, and cheered by millions who never even knew his name simply because Obama invited him. innocuous, loving, everyman ricky. his dream of global domination is our worst nightmare. wake up America...before it's too late.
Yeah the fact that Rick Warren is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations is the freakiest thing I ever heard. They are EVIL....the dems version of the Project for a New American Century.
After the movement against the war in Vietnam, the violence driven civil rights activists, black panthers and SDS Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) and other radical terrorist organizations were given instructions to assimilate into the mainstream of America and work there to bring about socialism..they became religious leaders..warren led a march on his local courthouse for the SDS..does he still believe what he professed in the 1960s?
wow...probably. i think he is part of a group called The Fellowship led by Doug Coe. You can read about them in the book called The Family by Jeff Sharlett.
Should have told you that The Family is a book about a secret Christian Evangelical power group that has a huge amount of power in Washington and their goal is socialistic.
Rick, please stop.

God-damn this is a car crash of a video (for RW).
How on Earth did he not see that this analogy is stupid & that his views are cultish? It's scary how even the leaders of religious movements can't see the harm of mindless devotion...
tdp1909 1 year ago

Only difference is they hide their hate behind religion, and too few have the balls to call them out.
sneeptheelite 1 year ago
@sneeptheelite You may as well congratulate yourself for having balls, since nobody else probably will. While Warren is definitely being fascistic here, Evangelical Christians are not generally that--in fact most protest violence is left wing in nature, as it must be, since agitation is a revolutionary tactic, designed to provoke and discredit the ruling structure.
CincinnatusUSA 1 year ago
@CincinnatusUSA
Protest Violence? That isn't how Fascists operate, as you should know. They prefer to infiltrate the establishment, exactly how Warren and his bigoted pals in the TEA party are doing.
sneeptheelite 1 year ago

How can you be so stupid?
callowaymotorcompany 1 year ago
@callowaymotorcompany
The Nazis thought they were changing the world for the better too. It would've been a better world, at least if you were Aryan. I'm sure Warren would also like to make a better world-if you are Christian, that is.

@sneeptheelite Yeah, cause rick wants us to kill everyone thats not christian, right? Thanks for the shit analogy.

@callowaymotorcompany
Was that what I said? I said that the world he wants to build is not a world non-Christians would want.
sneeptheelite 1 year ago
This was a disturbing analogy made by the speaker in the video.
To compare National Socialism & Communism to the Christian faith is wrong on his part. The Church is not supposed to be a "global expansion" of the Kingdom of God (especialy made by mankind). Only Christ can establish the restoration.
I'm affraid that the "spiritual awakening" being spoken of here is not in line with the teachings of Christ. In the last days, the Church shall be few (not "global")
MrGriegos 1 year ago
well if he called us to be like Nazis, we'd be mass murderers.. Somehow I don't think God wants that...
maybeilljoincia 1 year ago
First off, the title of this video should be changed.
He is not urging Christians to be dedicated like Hitler's youth. He is saying, if people can be devoted to evil ideals and greatly affect the world, imagine what would happen if people would be dedicated to God's ideals which are better. Why aren't we consumed with hatred for evil and love for God's ways which will fulfill our every want and need?
Your point of view depends on your view point. Look thru' the lens of positivity.
ahmedb1000 1 year ago
@ahmedb1000

Talk about a divided church! You should probably spend more time reading the word, praying or reaching your community for Christ than sitting in your chair at your computer expressing you twisted, graceless views on a man who's done more for the kingdom than you can ever hope to do.

npet021 1 year ago
The way the video portrays Rick is twisted and is biased based on the title.
Warren is simply comparing the past movements of passion people had to follow their leaders.
How much greater, then, if we have the passion to follow the Savior? That's what Rick's point is - not using Nazi or such methods to instill upon our youth.
He is challenging our youth to this:
"If these people followed someone who is evil and were passionate, how much more passionate should we be about Jesus, who is Good?"

I can see what Mr. Warren meant by that. I take it as a positive message but blindspot that he did not see IMO is that because of the deprived nature of humans, it is much easier to cooperate to do evil than good. It has always been harder to do the will of God than to do evil.

Isnt it sad the the greatest moments of human cooperation and dedication have been to madmen and evil.
thats his point. imagine people dedicating themselves to COMPASSION and LOVE with the same tenacity that has been given to such evils.
Does that justify tactics and acts used by Nazis? NO. Does his statement justify ANYTHING about Nazis? NO.
Just what is so outrageous and controversial about highlighting humanity's greatest cooperation has been to evil.
SpencerChristensen 2 years ago
Why mention Nazi Germany? Why not tell people to be like Apostle Paul or John or like the numerous Christians who were burned at the stake during the Spanish Inquisition for saying "No" to the Pope and clinging onto Christ and Christ alone?
Do not be captivated by philosphy of Rick Warren -
Colossians 2:8 -
See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ
konman001 2 years ago 5
@konman001 Because that isn't going to provoke the same amount of thought. We're constantly being told about the apostles and other groups of persecuted christians. Warren uses this example because he wants to reach people who would otherwise just switch off at the sound of "....the Christians in rome....bla bla bla."
zoltach 1 year ago
@konman001 Also, I think you're missing the point of the verse. He means 'street smarts'...like: "there is no real truth, everyones ideas are true to them". The Truth of Christ is not based off common knowledge (not most of it, anyway) so Paul warns people to not be fooled by people using non-Chistian philosophies_ not non-christian examples or stories.
zoltach 1 year ago
Paul never said that we should use NON-christian examples in ministry. Bible says that we shouldn`t be like Pagans because they lack God`s perfection:
Matthew 5:47-48 - And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. . . . and then there is:
3 John 1:7 - It was for the sake of the Name that they went out, receiving no help from the pagans.
konman001 1 year ago
@konman001 Again, you continue to miss the whole POINT of the argument. Those verses refer to us not doing as they do_ Warren is looking at the passion of the nazi's and is saying "hey, wake up christians! Nazi's are bad and yet they were devoted and were very successful, with God on our side and pure hearts why aren't we devoting ourselves like them!?".
zoltach 1 year ago
@konman001 Its like the point made in the bible about a father, though wicked as we all are, still gives good things to his son, so how much more would our father in heaven give us who He loves. The devil has invented nothing, only perverted God's good creation. Hitlers youth, though perverted and misguided, were very devoted, so how much more, with God's will, should we be devoted and succeed in doing Gods will. This is not a pagan idea.
zoltach 1 year ago
The point of the story was not the fact that your father gives the things you need. . .but the fact that you should not worry and run after the things that pagans do.
Once again. . . you are twisting scripture.
You know who else twisted scriptures? - SATAN. . . all you need to do is read Matthew 4.
konman001 1 year ago
@konman001 You know what, we'll just have to agree to disagree. I'm certain of Gods word just as I'm sure you are. We obviously both care alot about the truth, thatswhy I've giventwo years to ministry college and Im sure you've done similar. I just think that when my opponent compares me to Satan is where I draw the line. I've seen people twist scripture i dont beleive i was at all, thats all i want to finish on. God bless you in all you do for His kingdom and thank you for the discussion. Zach.
zoltach 1 year ago
Sorry you got upset
I did not compare you to Satan - I simply stated the fact that in Matthew 4 he also twisted words of the scripture. By doing so he was trying to get Jesus to commit a sin.
Twisting the words of the Bible to conform it to your own philosphy is a recipe for a disaster - unfortunately this is extactly what Rick Warren does. My hope is that you will not be mislead by wolves in sheeps clothing and that you will become more dependent on wisdom of God not on wisdom of men.
konman001 1 year ago
@konman001 Christ-like principles, examples from the world around us, i find nothing wrong with this and i'm not just a beginner with Gods word either so I hope you don't think I'm just pulling out ideas from my head. Cheers.
zoltach 1 year ago
What he's talking about (went right over some of your heads) is the strength of the human spirit. The Nazi's r a good example. Look at what they accomplished (horrific atrocities) through their devotion to a madman. What could we accomplish with that same devotion to the teachings of Jesus? Loving our neighbor, feeding the poor, etc? I know some of u just wanna hate religion and thats ok, but don't be so blinded as to believe that Warren is saying we should do what the Nazi's did
blade267 2 years ago
First of all, the Nazi's are not a good example of anything. Second of all, how do you know he's not suggesting their tactics? I'm a Christian, and I don't trust any man who uses the Nazi's as a comparison to how we should be.
.
goldendancer7 2 years ago
@goldendancer7
And what tactics would those be? We should persecute, beat, torture those who don't believe like we do? Do you really think that's what he means? Give me a break.
And the Nazi's are actually a great example. A group of people so influenced by an evil man that they did horrible things. Change the influence to a positive one and what could they have done?
blade267 2 years ago
You mean to tell me out of all the great examples there have been, such as the postle Paul, Peter, and those who were so devoted to impacting the world for Christ they were martyred for it by those like the Nazi's. Why don't we use the Roman's as an example too while we're at it. After all they were so devoted to their earthly leaders, they slaughtered Christians by feeding them to lions, boiling them in oil, stoning and beatings, not to mention crucifiction. Please, give me the break.
goldendancer7 2 years ago
The strength of the human spirit? Are you kidding me?? If it wasn't for the spirit of God working through those who believe in Him, we would all be going to H E Double hocky sticks for an eternity someday. The Nazi's did what they did because they were weak and contolled by a ruthless dictater, which is one more reson why they shouldn't have been used as an example.
goldendancer7 2 years ago
@goldendancer7 Was the human spirit thing too cheezy for you?I thought is was a stretch too lol. It's true though. The german people were weak and easily influenced, but they still made a huge impact. If they had been influenced by Christ maybe they would have done something amazing. Anyway, listen to more of Rick Warren's videos and stop getting caught up in the whole Nazi thing

This proves to me what I suspected..and that is that Rick Warren is a member of THE FAMILY or THE FELLOWSHIP as it is otherwise known.
Please read The Family, The Secret Fundamentalism At the Heart of American Power by Jeff Sharlet.
Warren is repeating word for a word a sermon of the Family's leader Doug Coe.
Spiritflier07 3 years ago
Well, I know Jeff and I've read his book. Indeed, some material I sent to him made its way into the book ( it was a minor contribution ). So I'm familiar with Sharlet's treatment of the Family and I generally support his perspective.
And, I'm well aware that Warren is repeating a Coe anecdote almost word for word: indeed. But, figuring out what that means is the harder task.
Let me suggest that, as a reference point, "The Family" doesn't put this into the necessary perspective.

This is, in my opinion (based on quite a bit of research) about the New Apostolic Reformation.
Rick Warren did his dissertation under C. Peter Wagner, and that's part of a continuing pattern.

BudManInChrist 3 years ago 2
Amen, & the interfaith dialogue/ecumenical movement not only involves a social gospel, but it is specifically anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian liberation theology (Sabeel, etc), pushing government leaders (US Pres., Tony Blair, etc) for Jerusalem *not* to be exclusively under Israel's control.

Hi ER, Thanks for sending this on. Rick is one of best "Scripture Twisters" the apostates have ever produced.

Take care and God bless.

The real tragedy is that the people that are helped by this don't realize that this power is really coming from within.
dreamy2 3 years ago
DREAMY2 - do you believe this power should be used like the Nazi's did and the Chinese government does today, as Rick Warren suggests at 2minutes 10seconds in this video?
I'm disgusted by his mixing up Nazism with being religious in America.
ncr100 3 years ago
ncr100: my answer is no.

I thought it was a horrible, horrible mistake for Obama to make Rick Warren the inaugural invocative giver.
But now it just feels like a mega-collosal mistake.
I could hardly imagine anything more inappropriate for Obama to do.

You talk like this was a mistake by Barack Obama. Trust me he knows EXACTLY what he's doing.
BTW, both Obama and Rick Warren are members of the Council on Foreign Relations.

rick warren is the personification of evil in a hawaiian shirt..a dangerous man who is getting away with brainwashing people with his Christian hate speech--right in front of our very eyes.

Isawanangel1X 2 years ago
wow...probably. i think he is part of a group called The Fellowship led by Doug Coe. You can read about them in the book called The Family by Jeff Sharlett.
That is if you want nightmares...
Spiritflier07 2 years ago
Should have told you that The Family is a book about a secret Christian Evangelical power group that has a huge amount of power in Washington and their goal is socialistic.
It's a factual and very interesting read.
