  • trance today is shit. Long live the old school!

  • @plasmaplex Today's trance contains more, is better produced and more creative in many ways (effects, rythm's, bass lines, melodies...)

  • @djbanana

Then why is it that it sucks?

  • @LRAJ88 That's the point, I simply do not agree cause I like the way it sounds today...it's like comparing super mario bros 1 and world of warcraft :) The musical content is perhaps not any more clever, but everything used to build up the trance atmosphere is more powerful today, that's my oppinion and I've been listening to trance for 10 years so I enjoyed it back in the days also, but there's not many of the old tunes I find exciting today. Trance music sure is a lot about production.

  • @djbanana

There comes a point where there's too much crammed into it too, where it becomes too complex and the music simply becomes flat.

  • @LRAJ88 Yeah I agree with that, to make a tune last longer you need a strong melody and great rythm, not just cool sfx. Trance producers today tend to mix other musical genres into their work to make it more exciting. I myself look for a way to combine the atmosphere of trance with the musical richness of jazz.

  • @djbanana

Not only other genresm they fill up all of the frequencies in a weird way. I've got synesthesia and most of the new music is like shit to me, no real feeling behind it.

  • @LRAJ88

    *genres,

  • @LRAJ88 I don't know what music you're referring to, are you listening to Armin's ASOT? But I see what you mean about the feeling. There's more music produced now than 10 years ago, which makes it harder to shine. But you have to be inventive and not keep on making the same beats and harmonies over and over again. A genre needs development and refreshment or it's dead.

  • @djbanana

It's hard to find that today. In any genre. You can find mashups that are good but it all comes to an end too. Old Jean Michel Jarre was good, same with Vangelis. Ultravox are fine along with Oingo Boingo but today most of it is a drum machine and no matter how much bass and treble you mix into it it lacks the shape of the old music.

  • @LRAJ88 Yeah, the music today is different than 30 years ago. If you think about it, what characterizes the music of the 70's, 80's, 90's and 00's? I think you can find qualities that was typical of the music from all those times. Late 80's music was in fact quite over produced compared to mid 90's that was dominated by grunge, hip hop and the return of noisy british pop like Blur and Oasis.

  • @plasmaplex talk about "shit today"...

ALMOST EVERYTHING IS SHIT TODAY, nevermind music...

    But yes, you are right!

OLD DAYS = WHAT A FEELING!

  • Next time you will fuck with my ears, wear a condome! <3

  • Those are circular florescent tubes. Antiloop had a deal with GE back in the day and this music video/commercial was produced as part of the ad campaign. I know this because I worked across the road from Starbucks. In the evenings I'd drive home very fast. This is how I ended up losing my wife and daughter. The roads were dimly lit and it made the trip home dangerous. She left me for another man, but she blamed my neurosis. Sometimes I get confused when I'm writing these comments. God bless.

  • @peacefulpony

    Um... Come again?

  • -s.

  • I don't know what message they are really trying to deliver, but this is what I belive is the meaning of this song/vid:

The halos in the vid symbolizes (religious) belief and belief is just another commercial product sold to the masses as well as a fashion item you wear.

    Great song btw :)

  • @DudorSP i don't think it has anything to do w/ religion but simply w/ 2 universal concept: goodness leads to peace and the other way around. smth like that. :) it's about all the good things in this world ....

  • @DM2009DM

They are (mass) producing halos on an assembly line (kind of) in the vid though :P

  • This song calms down the brain and gives your body a load of energy at the same time

  • I love it!

  • the beat is so fuckin sick..!!

  • Makes me feel good too...i can't explain

    sounds the future, technology

  • you know when a song is good when all seems right in the world the second the music starts...

  • This is so epic song, i love it ♥

  • The video is freaking weird, needs something whack to go with the song, mad song, needs a madder video :D

  • Sweden FTW!.

  • they should make a parkour/freerunning montage with this song !

  • I CANT DESCRIBE HOW ENERGISED I FEEL AFTER LISTENING THIS SONG!!!!!!!
