  • they called the NYC trains hudson class they were not called the hudson class they were called the mohawk class fleet which was what the NYC was known for.

  • stream liners! thats what its all about!

  • at 6:55 what road # is that??

  • @Strasburg1991 no clue, I just know it was a short-lived Southern Pacific train on the Overland route.

  • the streamliners WHATS THE SONG!!!!!!!!!! MUST TELL ME!!!! the one that goes into part 5

  • the streamliners WHATS THE SONG!!!!!!!!!! MUST TELL ME!!!!

  • too bad none of those idiots of the NYC,thought to preserve any of the hudsons, not a single one survived!

  • The Hudson S1, the most beautifull loco ever built, pure Art Deco.

  • That's what Amtrak needs to do if passenger ridership is going to go up, make their own streamliner, people from all over would pay to ride one in contemporary times.

  • @SP4449Warbaby the Acela, but it's not advanced enough, plus I've seen better kept trains on short lines than on Amtrak.

  • @KH990j Never thought of the Acela as "streamlined", I just thought of it as a faster high speed train for America, and tell me about it, RJ Corman down in Lexington, Kentucky is an example.

  • @KH990j The Acela is OK but its basically a high speed commuter train.

  • @boazrg and they only travel along the northeast corridor, not the entire U.S. I think railroads could use more electrified systems.

  • @SP4449Warbaby So should Virgin!

  • @STOPTHEEU huh?

  • magnificent and thank you so much !!

  • Most later steam locos, like the Big Boys, used mechanical stokers to feed coal into the firebox, although a little manual shoveling was required to keep the flame bed even.

Yes, shoveling coal isn't as easy as it looks, and yes, it's a good way to build up your arms

  • i bet them guys shoveling all that coal had arms of steel :)

  • @jeffb8074

Or as long as their ankles.....

Must have been a tough job.
