you are like me as you know what you can do but damn I got to say this is still pretty damn bad...............kinda grows on ya..........I find something about once I turn on the video....I could be playing unreal and fluid but sometimes when the record button goes on it is harder but damn dude........I really dig your playing.....welcome to :The Club"
Thanks man :-) I enjoy playing when life allows but you need to play allot to keep your chops and mind sharp. I like jamming because it forces creativeness and sometimes you land a winner but sometime not.You have so many nice guitars on your channel and you play very well and tastefully, you have good soul and feel :-) Keep it up my friend!
cool...how about you throw in a bit more color at times and maybe some legado playing.....you are a great player and hope you do not mind my suggestions....love what you do but just a suggestion.............keep up the great videos bro...
Danny, you are too hard on yourself man!(Don't worry we will all let you know when you really do suck! he he he...just kidding!)Hope you had a wonderful Holiday, keep playing...
Thank you for the vid. Great phrasing. I am considering a Legacy Special. I was wondering if the Special is capable of a passable alnico p'up type sound while playing somewhat clean, sort of a semi-clean Hendrix - Wind cries Mary tone?
I really dig the atmospheric hollow tonal quality of a Legacy but hate the hum.
Hey! Thanks for the nice comment :-) The body on this strat with these pickups was great for clean and bluesy sound with a warmer feel like humbukers but not quite the same. I did not like them when distorted, again I think it was this body. I put the pickups on a different guitar and they sound great! I now use Dimarzo virtual vintage on this strat. Cheers! Danny
That was amazing. I think you've confused the word 'sucks' with the phrase 'is mind-blowingly awesome.' It's an easy mistake to make when you get to our age!
Danny I had a question about your setup. I love your tone and am considering a Tonelab for practice but was curious what role your Quadraverb played in your setup.
Hey! I do not use any effects of the Tonelab although they are good. I think the Tonelab sounds a little truer to the real thing not using it's effects. I use the old Alesis Qudraverb because it's very good and I like it. It has great algorithms.
hey danny mind if i ask, can you use the compressor together with the wah?? ive hear from someone he cant use the compressor and wah at the same time or maybe its just the old tonelab models le/se?
Hey, you know I'm not sure but I think you cannot! It has three effect sections, 1. pedal 2. Mod/delay 3. Reverb.
I beleive the compressor and wah are both under Pedal and you can just pick one. I never use it's effects although threre pretty good, I use an old Alesis Quadraverb which I like. I think the basic guitar sound out of the Tonelab sounds better using external effects the it's own. It sound more like and amp. Danny :o)
Hi, Its getting scary, I will be 57 in March. I checked your channel out and need to go back and listen so more. You sound and play great! Thanks for the nice comments!
Sounds like me, I started at an early age also. I lost all interest in playing for some reason and didn't touch the guitar for more than 13 years. Was watching a few great guitar players on YouTube one night and got the bug again and pulled them out of storage. I been goofing off now for around 11/2 years now. Time really does go fast. :) Keep playing my friend you sound great!
@dlrdanny i used to have one of those guitars, it was a black G&L legacy special, one of the most beautiful guitars i owned, sadly i had to sell it for school money , really regret that move! Where did this backing track come from??
Hey Andy, I love this 1996 G&L 3 bolt neck guitar, very resonant. I have so many jam tracks from different places but I think someone with their home studio made this up and posted it. They did a good job but wish it had been longer and I had taken more time with the jam. If you like I could send you the MP3 of the jam track.
Sucks?Are you kiddin?
Powerfull stuff man....!
