Oh thank heavens for this video. :( I somehow stumbled upon a video about The Call and watched about 10 videos from that crazy event with those insane people... and I was losing hope in humanity. Thank you for sharing this, I was seriously wanting to cry because those "The Call" videos were making me sick.
"We will never give up our fight for equality and fairness in this country. We will never surrender to fear or hatred or homophobia. We will never hide our pride or be silenced again. Never. We continue on today and we continue to teach the world about beauty, about art, about diversity and most of all about love."
"Love conquers all and will always prevail over hate. And as witnessed today, hope will always prevail over fear. Today might not have been the day for us in California, but rest assured our day will come. We battle on for our younger gay and lesbian sisters, we battle on to defeat hatred in this world, we battle on for our pride."
"Thank you to everyone who supported us on Prop 8 - especially our straight family members and friends. We love you very much and we know how much you love us back. And no one, not any church or government, can ever take that away."
Nice to see that people from both sides of the spectrum will keep the state free of religious tyranny and theocracy. This is why I like ballot measures, bypasses the two parties duopoly.
From Northern California, let me say a big THANK YOU to all of you in San Diego who participated in this incredible event! I couldn't believe my eyes, it's so exciting and emotional. I too feel nervous and apprehensive, but this video just made me feel so much hope. Thank you again!!!
beautiful, i just got back from a protest in Roseville, CA and they are mostly YES, so i was much an outcast, but I still stood out and made a statement!! =] NO ON PROP 8!!
So intriguing, I wish I could have been there. Just watching it gave me chills. I am so proud to know that their are other supporters of No on Prop 8 in San Diego, due to the lack of support in Santee. Well, I knew that their were, its just seeing it, its amazing.
I was involved in a bunch of setup for the event at the Center, and ended up standing right behind the politicos who showed up to support us. The energy and the view from up on the patio was INCREDIBLE!
WOW, Congratulations San Diego - out of all the video's I've seen this is the most amazing. Now let's hope every one of those people go to the polls and votes NO on prop 8.
The police estimated the crowd at 6,000 from their helicopter. I think it was more like 15-20,000. Folks were lined up from the Center all the way to 6th ave.!! Westbound University was closed for over an hour! Way to show up SD!! Lets all pray this terrible prop does not pass!
Thank you for the video - this is one of the most amazing events I have been to. I have never been more proud of my San Diego community. Thanks to everyone, gay, straight, and anything in between who showed up to support this cause.
My thirteen year old daughter has taken this on as her first political cause. She wanted to attend the rally so we made an evening of it.
The event was exactly as this video shows, continuing for blocks on both sides of the street, thousands of motivated, upbeat, polite people. You should have been there!
I'm sorry this passed. I have a hard time understanding how my state could vote for Obama on the one hand and revoke basic civil rights from my friends and neighbors on the same ballot.
This isn't over. Our community was stripped of human rights today but we were rudely awoken. The door is wide open now and we are coming. Oh, we are coming with everything we have and we shall overcome.
Great job. I have vids from the Prop. 8 rally in Long Beach in my page.

Yes, we were on the right side. In 25 years, everyone will agree. But the right side lost, and it sucks.
