I loove this. What's really cute, is that your voice sounds totally different from when you speak Hawaiian and then when you speak English. :O It's so cool. (:
Aloha Kumu Ahonui. Pehea 'oe? I ko'u mana'o, maika'i no kou a'o aku 'ana i ka 'olelo Hawai'i. E ola i ka 'olelo makuahine! Mahalo no kou hana maika'i. 'O wau 'o Kapuaalohamaikalani. No Ewa mai au. thankyou soo much. yeah I used to live on hawaii when my family got stationed over there. and I really loved the place soo much. Im gonna learn this language, already know some from living there but it would be GREAT to know how to speak it. its endangered. you know only .1% of people on the islands are native these days? sad right? thankyou SOOO much for these lessons
Oh I know! We should email them and ask for it! More and more people are learning Hawaiian especially young people in Hawai'i. It's a legit language! And one of the most unique and coolest ones in my opinion. So they should make one!
@aurielMoon u dont really need rosotta stone set to learn hawaiian all hawaiian language is basicly mixed between samoan and maori and little bit tongan
@2553shean Yes, there are similarities between those languages because they are all members of the Polynesian language family. With regard to shared innovations in languages, Hawaiian, Marquesan, Tahitian, Maori and Rapanuian are more closely related to one another than Tongan or Samoan, and they form their own subgroup referred to as Eastern Polynesian languages. Their shared innovations have more to do with the natural evolution of languages than crossbreeding.
I was also a Kamehameha Grad in 03' and am glad that I found this. I didn't take Hawaiian in school and have been putting it on the back burner, but find your teaching style helpful in illuminating an type of discrepancy one may have.
All in all, glad you're a teacher cause you do a great job.
I live on Maui

Yes, I will definitely purchase the text to go along with the lesson. And I saw the copyright on the book is the same year that I was born. : )
