  • Im bet the docs will have som problems pulling that shit out of somone.

  • impressive expansion but I think penetration is very minimal!!!

  • @rolexr lol, it's enough to do what its supposed to do. I read that penetration is 8 inches. Thats more than halfway through me.

  • @fivefoflow ...o.k. your right that´s halfway trough a body. But for some conditions IT IS much to less. FBI / Police request is about a minimum penetration of 12-18"!

But o.k. it is sure a great round for personal defense and I don´t want to get shot with it ;-) !!!

  • DAAAAAMN, yeah that will fuck up your day.

  • Awsome,,,i want one of those spent bullets....look realy cool

  • Now I need some of those.

  • Id really like to see a gel test with this round.

  • Its a bullet that turns into a ninja star...

  • I shot my cat in the face with one of these.. Talk about a mess

  • @choadlezwithaz Now try iton yourself!

  • i'd like to c that shot into ballistics gel.

  • @milatarykid1142 I just read in a respond from tnoutdoors9 that he is planning to test them with the sim-test media that is calibrated to ballistics gel. I'm sure you know who I am talking about, but if not, I suggest you check his channel out. He has loads of great tests and great videos there!

  • AND WHO'S THE CHILDISH RETARD THAT IS PUTTING GUN POWDER IN THE MICROWAVE?

  • that looks lethal

  • why did it have to be kool-aid?

  • Agg, this is not hunting ammunition. You would create a lot of damage inside and may end up tainting the meat if ruptured stomache/intestines etc. The size of the petal expansion would send it all over the internals. Use it for personal defense as intended.

  • if you can get 8-12" penetration from those after clothes and bone, then i think that is a very scary cartridge. i'd love to see a test with a more realistic medium besides water.

  • how would the doctor get those bad boys out

  • @ILITTHEWORLDONFIRE they are designed not to, and if someone is a direct threat to you or your family, you put 3 or 4 into them to make sure that the threat is neutralized.

  • 1:26 drill a hole a put string on it and use it as a pendant

  • Seems to be an awesome home defense round, but I doubt it'll be effective after penetraing a hard barrier...

For carry I'd choose a different. For say a beside gun, sure...

  • @YoungSinatra25 YOU SHOULD WAIT UNTIL THEY ARE IN YOUR HOME BEFORE YOU SHOT THEM. NOT THROUGH THE BRICKS. YOU ARE BEST TO ALTERNATE ANYWAY. HOLLOW POINT, FMJ, HOLLOW POINT, FMJ AND SO ON.

  • @rockhound694u Uh, no. Anyone who carries FMJ for self defense is a fool and endangers everyone around them. Your point of aim would change for every other shot as well.

  • @ChrisPenta THAT SET UP WOULD ONLY BE FOR THE MAG IN MY NIGHT STAND FOR WHEN I AM AIMING AT THE CHEST FROM MY BED FROM 7 FEET AWAY. SO BASICLY IT WOULD BE CHEST, CHEST, HEAD. IF I CARRIED THEY WOULD BE ALL FRAG TYPE.

  • @rockhound694u That's even more dangerous. So it goes straight through the wall behind your target and continues on. Brilliant.

  • @ChrisPentard THATS RIGHT! THROUGH THE FIRST CRACK HEAD IN TO THE SECOND ONE. BOTH ARE HURTING. SECOND SHOT DROPS THE FIRST ONE. THIRD SHOT AND THE SECOND CRACK HEAD GETS ANOTHER ONE THROUGH HIM INTO THE THIRD CRACK HEAD IF THERE IS ONE OR THE COAT CLOSET. FORTH SHOT DROPS THE SECOND CRACK HEAD. FIFTH SHOT GOES THROUGH THE THIRD CRACH HEAD INTO THE COAT CLOSET. SIXTH SHOT DROPS THE THIRD CRACK HEAD. THEN EMPTY THE MAG ON THE BODYS ON THE FLOOR. SOUNDS LIKE A PLAN STAN?

  • @rockhound694u Are you 12? No it doesn't sound like a plan.

  • @ChrisPenta In New Jersey its illegal to conceal carry with hollow points IIRC.

  • @ivantheigor In NJ its basically illegal to conceal carry anything. Less than 2000 permits have been issued.

  • god damn that would POP your head like a watermelon!

  • time for the gel test!

  • shuriken bullets , my dream is coming true . only need the chainsaw katana and the invisibility suit and i can die happy

  • i feel like getting hit by that would really fuck up your day.

  • thats so cool how they open

  • yet a nother round i NEVER wanna get hit by

  • Ok who said it won't have enough penetration? You probably have never shot a firearm. That has plenty of penetration. And lol a marshmallow.

  • And I wanted that Kool-Aid :/

  • Honestly, they don't penetrate far and it's shitty, dirty ammo. If you are going to hunt with this ammo.... bring a back-up 30-06 just for safety. And by the way, nice Ruger!

  • if the slug will expant like that ...will there be e a big difference in stopping power if its a 45 or 9mm?

  • After using these bullets to shoot you can use them as throwing stars

  • had to make the likes be "123"

  • Useful for vampire hunters

  • Hey I have scales like that! I just dont weigh bullets...:3

  • I'd guess that ammo would be great for wounding your target, but slow to kill.

  • That thing is made of entirely of copper so i seriously doubt that the pettles would break off on bone, and definately not flesh.

  • Id like to see that ammo test done in .40S&W

  • id love to see the effect on some ballistic wax

  • it looks cool

  • Thats not a bullet its a propeller to my rc boat. lol I would hate to have that spinning inside of me. great video man im glad i carry these.

  • I got to play with samples at the SHOTshow before they came out :)

  • Essential to penetrate at lest 12 inches of soft tissue in order to reach vital organs.

Wonder how heavy clothing would further affect (negatively) results.

Good show for those NOT in the "know"... LOL

  • Wo makes tese?

  • Talk about a show stopper....

  • damn thats one bad ass amo

  • Thank you for great video, it would be amazing to see how it expands in a ballistic gelatin.

  • Do these come in 9mm?

  • @monkeyfish708 yes, but is expensive.... 20 rounds $48

  • @monkeyfish708 yes i carry them they rock

  • what a strange design.

  • i just thought of something... these rounds were made by grizzly? isint that a russian company that also makes the 7.62x39 steel case rounds? i cant vouch for these rounds in particular if made by the same company but the powder used for the 7.62 burns very dirty in my romanian ak. the contact end of the gas piston went from brand-new clean to blackened in 30 rounds.

  • @deltaomegaable Thats wolf. Never heard of grizzly russian ammo...

  • Grizzly Xtreme is most likely named after the wound caused by the projectile.

  • do they make these in a .40 s&w?

  • ok im doing it anyway... THATS FUCKING KOOL. im done now

  • I would like for you to see what that ammo will do in Ballistic Jell tests & post it.? Thanks

  • Nice but I think that I will stick with my Fed HST"s & or Ranger Ammo in the 45 cal.?

  • Id really like to see them in gel. I can't imagine they go very deep.

  • fucking humans

  • Talk about instant death well heavy internal bleeding

  • Who would waste grape kool-aid, wtf!

  • I'd like to see more rounds with hollow point bullets slit down the sides. It is an intriguing design, imho.

  • that could do alot of dmg to some one ..

  • Those are some NASTY bullets.

  • How deep will they penetrate into ballistic gel? They appear as if they would slow quite rapidly and may not get to the required 12" of penetration. Does anyone know?

  • these rounds are meant for when Zombies or Aliens attack Earth... You cant possable feel good about your self after watching this video then useing this ammo for self defence its too nasty... im scared of it.. Ill stick to my Ranger +p 45acp

  • would suck to have one of those shred your insides

  • WTH!?!? how do u suppose they would penetrate into a perpetrator's flesh?? with that little star figure, i suppose? if in fact so, then they're probably a devastating round!

  • i still prefer my black talons but these rounds seem pretty damn cool

  • First time I saw bullets like these was from Guncrafter Industries and their .50 GI.

  • id like to see this tested on balistic gel or a pig carcass

  • where can i get this round of ammunition for a g21 glock?

  • @bikecrazydan We purchased these from midwayusa.

  • Probably won't have enough penetration.

  • @alexfla123 yup expansion is always a great thing but ppl easily forget that it also absorbs energy the wider the bullet becomes. dont get me wrong, though. i wouldnt want to be the sorry bastrd who has to walk around with one of those stuck in his ass.

  • @alexfla123 - Thats the point....

  • @Derail07

The problem with that "point" is that the people who use firearms to stop criminals/comabtants- universally agree that penetration is what "stops" attackers. When they have Adrenaline going, all the "stopping power" in the world isn't going to stop them- not until their brain stops functioning or you sever their motor control.

Looks pretty neat after it expands, but I'd bet on Gelatin/flesh, you're getting less than 10", that's just not adequate to "stop" an attacker.

  • @greenvaepor - Well when you have a house with a wife and kid you don't want to over penetrate through walls (That was my only point). I cannot imagine to much movement with a chest full of those. I would grab my shotgun first though.

  • @greenvaepor Actually you want all the energy of the bullet to be used up before it exits the body. A bullet still moving after that is wasting energy that could have been causing damage inside the "attacker".

  • @horcruxhuntr That's good if you can place all the shots at center mass, sadly shot placement isn't a 100% deal and any shot can be blocked and waste energy before it hits the body.

  • @alexfla123 Thats what she said.... gigidy.

  • @alexfla123 you wouldn't exactly be up, and walking after getting hit by 2 of those...

  • Correctamundo, those bullets can't penetrate very far in flesh with those big petals spread wide open like that. And they would very likely break off before penetrating very far in flesh, and then it would just be a non-expanding, very light weight slug that would not be as good a bad-guy stopper as military hardball. All that glitters aint gold, and most handgun ammo advertised as super-duper man-stoppers aint either.

  • @alexfla123 1150 fps derp it will.

  • @lawls12 I was thinking that to...it's metal not a marshmallow.

...damn...I wonder what a marshmallow feels like at that velocity. XD

  • @alexfla123 Thats what she said!

  • @alexfla123 yes they prob will and when it enters it just rips all of the insides out and to shreads

  • @alexfla123 & once it hits actual flesh the pedals will break off very quickly. Its the equivalent of a wide expanding hollow point.

  • if you run out of ammo you can pull em out of the body and use em as ninja stars. XD

  • @Ilovewint im glade we had this discussion. Youve gave me real world experience. This is a thing not alot of people have.

  • @Ilovewinter a massive wound like from a .50cal can also do it. you lose blood pressure so quick you just drop where you stand. very large rounds like 454 and .50s are the only things ive seen do this.

  • @Ilovewinter That is psychological then. People will normally fall with the pain of being shot. Most people do especially on drugs. Ive seen a 300 pound man fall from a .22 bullet that landed nowhere near his vitals. It just depends on the person.

  • those = crap tons of tissue damage.

  • @Ilovewinter one more thing the "shock waves" in a handgun are NOT strong enough to rupture organs. This is the same case with rifles and 12 gauge slugs. you need BLUNT FORCE for shockwaves.

  • @Radion561 you do not need to rupture organs to do damage. even my foot to some ones chest even though it would not rupture any organs, can stop a heart, bruise a kidney, or cause serious injury to other organs, none of which have to RUPTURE to kill you. I think the best example of that is something called the Death Touche it has been proven to work yet needs very little impact, so weather the damage ruptures the organs is irrelevant it can still kill.

  • @Ilovewinter hey guess what? these dont cause blunt force trauma. All there energy is absorbed into the wound channel. which is shallow and very wide. NO i repeat NO handgun round can knock you down. I am so sick of hearing this. NONE. PERIOD. They just dont have enough push energy.

  • @Radion561 I have seen people get knocked down with a 454 and that is a hand gun round made for a rifle, also watched tests of the 454 and .50 knock peopled down, I am not talking about throwing you back 10 ft. or any unrealistic thing like that, but knock you off your feet yeah it can!!!!!

  • a side note all bullets cause blunt force trauma maybe not a lot but all cause some, in this case because I have never used these rounds I can say you may be right about this case, however i have seen many people knocked down in the army by 5.56 and that is a small fast round, I carry a 454 handgun and have seen it really knock people down again not 10 ft, not even really a foot but it knocks em off their feet, drops them where they stand if you want to call it that.

  • would likely bend back into ballistic gel

  • So now your gun shoots ninja stars?

  • I'd like to see some of these for the S&W 500. If they make them out of lead and then jacket them, grainage should be up, and on a "tall load" like the 500, each petal should weigh as much as a 9mm. I figure that 700 gr is the max for the 500, on a flat nose round, so all split up and hollowed out should cut the grainage in half.

  • This is a gimmick round not suitable for personal defense.

  • @KiloSierraAlpha <---- LOL Ok bro lemme shoot you with a few and lets see if ''theyre not sutable for self-defence'' HAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!

  • @GotAmmo21 you're an idiot. let me shoot you with a .22 SHORT! But would you carry that?

This round can't even penetrate 4 inches in gel through denim which means it can't penetrate barriers and is USELESS for self-defense. But hey, it's your life and we're all better off if idiots are weeded out of the gene pool so please buy this crap and carry it!!!

  • @KiloSierraAlpha ''Pentrate through barriers''? What are you a fucking swat operator? Your over thinking everything you dont need ultra delta omega 9 hollow point frangable bullets to kill an attacker your not kicking down doors in Iraq your carrying bullets in a gun that you will probably never use and I have no problem carrying a 22short if its all I had.

  • @GotAmmo21 I'm talking about a window you dumbass.

  • @KiloSierraAlpha well either your attacker already shot out the window with his first shot or you are going to shoot it out with yours, and if you took the first shot then unless he is superman he will be stunned enough for you to get off several more rounds.

  • @Ilovewinter you're clueless. go take a self-defense course so you don't make these stupid comments on YT.

  • @KiloSierraAlpha already did its called time in service for the United States Army I saw combat I think that is plenty of classes thanks, also your statement to glass unless its bullet resistant makes you only sound like a moron, not sure how many times you have been shot at but I can count 5 times before I was even in the Army, and a dozen more after. If you want to get nasty the little 5.56 that the M16 uses is a pussy round and it goes through, glass, drywall, and wood very well!!!!!

  • this stuff will literaly fuck you up.

  • SINISTER Expansion. But I heard that the penetration on these things suck. Has anybody here done a penetration test on these or watched a video on one?

  • Goes into a target as .45 caliber hollow point bullet, and comes out of a target as a 1.35 inch diameter ninja throwing star.

  • They have these in 380 acp to. This might become my favorite. That thing is expanded huge.

  • Those look scary. would u say these are more effective than a 230grain designed to expand the same way?

  • @Five00700 Well without lead in the design, the weight will always be less with about the same bearing surface as a heavier load.

  • If the petals didn't bend back or break it seems like it would stop the round dead in its track..looks great but effective??

  • Mall Ninja Stars

  • is this the same "xtreme" ammo company that previously had pictures of ninjas on the box? lol

looks like these jhp's have almost no sectional density. plus, the petal are precut all the way through to expand immediately. penetration is probably sub 9inches.....

  • @champop1911

In ballistics gelatin i would expect about 11 inches of penetration but 1.5 inches or 150 caliber. You're dead.

  • @tubevideoguy762 Nah it depends how deep it will go. If it can't hit any kind of organs or any other vital it wont kill you unless you die of blood loss. If there is no penetration (Which I doubt there is with this round) then it will have less of a chance of killing of you. It still can kill you but id rather have a proven round like gold dots.

  • @Radion561

True a brother in law of mine tested this in gel 1.8 inches expansion and 7 inches of penetration. You could be right.

  • @tubevideoguy762 In calibrated ballistics gel you need about 12 inches of penetration. It is also good to put about 4 layers of denim (just fold blue jeans in half and put it over the gel) to simulate clothes. If it cant reach that 12 inches MINIMUM in penetration then it wont beable to reach organs. I still would NOT want to be hit by one though. That would hurt like a bitch.

  • @Radion561 two things to note A. this round is not filled like the FTX rounds so that could change its ability to penetrate B. even if it does not hit an organ the shock waves can kill you, it has been prove that Bean bags from shot guns can kill at close range because of the blunt force trauma they cause so as long as it transfers enough blunt force it can kill, but if you combine that with a filled tip either wax, rubber, or plastic you can increase its effectiveness!

  • They come in a 50 round box right? If so $50 is not that bad of a price

  • @zombiekillerjordan 20 rounds in the box... I paid $54 bucks for it.

  • @andreleger2001 thats rediculous!

  • Those look like they will make a pretty big hole

  • Holy Fu..

  • Gawd that is one of the ugliest .45 handguns I've ever seen.

  • @Migs4000 yeah lol an old friend of mine had one and tried showing it off to me and a friend at the range and thought we would be all amazed by it. my other friend and i laughed at him (and my friend who was laughing with me had a bersa. i thought it funny someone who knew how shitty bersas were could laugh at anybody)

  • Nice expansion, almost looks like ninja throwing stars.......That will keep some lazy, good for nothing thug from car jacking or robbing someone in just one shot.

  • @shootcentermass We did a jug line test on this same ammo not too long ago.

  • Are u just updating old vids don't get me wrong I dig it keep it rolling

This round looks good now that's expansion

Whare are u finding this ammo

  • @bigdaddyitalia22 I got this from midwayusa.

  • I'd like to se how far these would penerate in ballisti jell

  • Holy shit this round is NASTY.......

  • That is one wicked expansion, do they come in other calibers?

  • @bogie89 Yes. I will try to get more calibers for testing.

  • @andreleger2001 HOLY SHIT!!!

  • holy shit

  • The pedals on this look too thin and too open to stay together in a less consistant media like say actual bone/tissue. I think this round needs to be tested with pork ribs and then several water jugs behind it. I wouldn't be surprised to see pedals either break off or fold all the way back.

  • @1faSStchevy

    >doesn't know how to spell petals

    >opining on projectile design aand testing

  • @damarei

    Huh?

  • @1faSStchevy

    I Agree! vary good point

  • @1faSStchevy damage is already done, even if they do break off. That is an awesome expansion!

  • @rmthunder It did retain 100% of its weight. I am going to guess it still penetrates considerably deeper then a fragmenting round like the Glaser blue safety slug or the extreme shock air freedom. Probably creates a huge temporary cavity. Definitely deadly as deadly if not deadlier then fragmenting ammo. It may expand more delayed in ballistics gel. Grizzly is loading this in 44 mag all the way up o 1350 fps.

  • @1faSStchevy if you read up on this round the pedals are meant to break off at a certain stress level to ensure separate wound channels, there is a guy from Cross ammo working on a bigger version for the 45 colt fired from the judge, or Raging Judge. He is still testing his at this point because he is still trying to get it tuned to the right penetration depth. He said in an article somewhere that it had over penetration compared to where he wanted it, basically he wants it to stay in the body.

  • @Ilovewinter I re read it it was meant for the cross ammo from the sounds of it, however it would stem that it would be a good thing if they did break off on this round as well, either way I think it would not do so hot going through a ton of layers of clothing or several thick layers of Leather so I am curious to see if it would.

  • o on a side note could you imagine if it was filled with rubber like the Hornady FTX thats what I carry for day to day. but man this expansion would kick butt if it had that, I think the rubber core would prevent clogging before it reached the soft tissue.

  • @Ilovewinter Thanks for the info. This is a round I will follow.

  • awesome rounds, but for $53.99 /20 rounds i'll pass!

  • Got mixed feelings on this round. Expansion's AWESOME and appears consistent/reliable, velocity is great for .45 ACP, and perfect weight retention. However, relatively shallow penetration (at least it's better than frangible), and it's God-awful expensive (over 50 bucks for 20 rounds!). I wonder if it expands like this going through drywall? If it expands rapidly and/or breaks apart, it could make for a more practical home defense "safety slug" than frangible pistol ammo.

  • how about a denim test.

  • @deleriumman I will try to do a denim test on this one.

  • @andreleger2001 It looks like it has a pretty big hole. I would like to see 2 or 3 layers of cloth. I think it will get plugged up.

  • WOW! Talk about great ammo..

  • wow thats fucking rediculous

  • INCREDIBLE!!

  • Didn't expand large enough for my liking........

  • Wow what the...I don't even know what to think about that.

  • Didn't you already do this one? Or was it s different weight or something?

  • @YamahaWR200 Same ammunition, different testing method. The first test was water filled jugs, this test was the water filled barrel. It looks like the results were the same though.
