  • A great performance by Jeff. I like his style and he has always been one of my influences along with BB of course! Here is my rendition of key to the highway on soundcloud hotspanna sets blues

  • this was the albert king cover. right?

  • @StSimonMarty

Nobody digs the blues nazis. "This is blues, this isn't" is narrow, man. But it's your opinion, so whatever....But what you got is this: You got two cats up there that respect the shit out of each other. They're playing the blues, btw. Like the master class musicians they are.

  • JB went to the outlier realm perhaps but his ensuing riffs garnered BB's enthusiastic approval. Overall, I agree with King's opening statement: "Jeff--you're HOT TONIGHT !!!"

  • @StSimonMarty

are you seriously giving advice to jeff beck?

  • Even more addictive than heroin !

  • you know ... the mistake , atleast to me, somehow added to the feel of the song ... a 'broken' feel ... nice to feel...

  • i thought Jeff's mistake almost killed B.B King, he was shocked! But what do you expect, how often does Beck make mistakes? ;) That's right, he doesn't.

  • the besters....

  • Jef,

Wah wah and Blues do NOT go together, get a Les Paul and play blues if you must.

NO tapping and no wah wah please. It makes my ears hurt.

  • @StSimonMartyr Hush please.

    Politely,

    The rest of the world.

  • 2:18

  • JB is jeff beck not justin bieber

  • jb overacts, bb plays blues

  • JUST GOTTA LOVE B.B............

  • Hardly a hitch in his giddie up! A guitar is just another appendage to Jeff Beck.

  • If you hit one wrong note it's a mistake, if you hit two... it's jazz.

  • so THIS is why people like Jeff Beck? why doesn't he incorporate more of this feel into his own music?

    that was killer!

  • @superflea72

hmmm.... sounds like you never listened to "Blow by Blow" or "Wired".

  • @cr0c0d0p0lis1 yep, you're right - perhaps I should pull my finger out and check them out! as long as they're not full of his quasi-jazz noodle-fests, and are more straight-ahead rockin' out, I'm sure I'll be loving it.

  • @superflea72

if you want rock, try "going down" (1972) and "rice pudding" (1969).

  • @cr0c0d0p0lis1

I should have mentioned: as with "Lord Sutch & Heavy Friends", "Going Down" is best enjoyed if you can tune out the vocal track.

  • @cr0c0d0p0lis1 cheers cr0c0, it's nice to have an intelligent discussion with a JB fan that isn't a rabid lunatic....I thank you for that. :)

I just listened to Blow by Blow from start to finish, but I'm afraid I like him even less now. it just sounds to me like he heard 'Superstition', and copied it a few times with some full band noodling on top :(

listen dude, clearly you like him a lot and I respect that - we can't all have the same tastes. but I just don't get it.

    cheers

  • For the 26 dislikes, 2:37

  • I Cant comprehend the amount of Talent on that stage..... As soon as Jeff finished soling i taught nobody will ever follow that, incredible solo and an amazing player

    .......Then BB Played 3 notes.........

  • I don't think Jeff Beck makes mistakes (welll maybe intentional mistakes) ... this is a one serious badass experienced guitarist although not as famous as BB and Clapton!

  • @hpjons: Are you serious?

  • THEY AREN’T MAKE A LITTLE SINGLE MISTAKE.

  • Notice the racist black chick at 5:12 that only smiles when B.B plays. Racist hoe.

  • @AblueSHADEofMETAL you can't even notice where she's looking at

  • @AblueSHADEofMETAL Oh really! How can you be so sure that is what she feels. Are you a mind reader?

  • Don't know why, I mean I've never met him, but I sincerely love BB King.

  • I never noticed that B.B. King was so awesome at singing also

  • @MrBadAssBoy123 well he still is

  • Whats that device/thing Jeff beck is using on his middle finger?

  • @Krillain

It's a glass tube commonly called "slide guitar"...Jeff is one of the best with this

  • @Krillain It's a slide

  • What a treat it is to see and hear two incredibly talented artists sharing the same stage.

  • Jeff is surely a great musician but when BB KIng hits the first note of his solo at 5:12 he totally blows away all the previous beck's stuff, it's like fresh air...just my opinion! great stuff anyway

  • Check out the crackhead at 5:17 :P

  • clapton owns jeff sorry jeff

  • @internalpeaceseeker Two completely different styles.. you can't compare them. Beck owns Clapton just as much as Clapton owns Beck. There's no point in comparing guitar gods up against each other, just enjoy the music :)

  • god this is legendary! i´m a metalhead myself but i say it would be just a sin to deny this awesome guitarwork

  • The best part of the song is Jeff's MISTAKE

  • Damn, BB sounds good here!! I wish I had that kind of growl in my voice.

  • HAHAHAHAH xD 2:19

  • @SebinusPremier you are the only guitarist i met to admit that it's the soul, not the muscles of the fingers.

  • Overlooked in all the controversy about Jeffie's "mistakes", is that this is The Definitive vocal performance of "Key to The Highway" of all time,

    by the master

when he says "won't be back, no more", it sends a chill down my spine,

BB facing mortality, straight in the eye, head up

  • id love to be as crap as jeff beck ;)

  • This touches me so deeply.

  • les 24 personnes qui n'aiment pas sa non tout simplement pas de goûts musiquaux !!

  • When you can play as good as those "mistakes" let us know by posting your own video. Till then, just sit back and enjoy the talent.

  • @lastchancerock Yea of what "mistakes " talk this guitar hero , maybe is him that have a great "mistake" in her head. Sorry for my english but I hope is understanding.

  • somebody actually mentioned bob ross lol ha ha ha ha thats hilarious he's like it's your painting you can do whatever you want mistakes are what makes it unique ha ha ha with his little squirrel in his pocket... but bb will never be forgotten neither will jeff beck this is just beautifully done..

  • did anybody note the expression of BB at 3:13 when Jeff made the mistake?! hahaha

two of the best, NO doubt!

  • @fernandaopk hahahah i barley noticed haha

  • @fernandaopk .... BB was simply amazed that both Jeff could fluff a single note AND had a flashback to 1974 when he himself played a wrong note 1CRRNBBNnvc 1.35 in... It happens to the best of us :) to err is human, to play guitar like this is BB King, Jeff Beck or of course Tommy Emmanuel. Cheers

  • @fernandaopk ..it was a forgiving grin, I would say..but did sound like the biggest bum note ever ..

  • @fernandaopk Jeff Beck never makes mistakes. I guess it was a new musical stylistic device he invented just that moment ;D

  • maybe you don t realize but you just made me focus on this damn mistake and you ruined this song to me

  • @CaptMiller92 ..too bad....except for the bum notes it sounds grand to me...

  • shouldn't music just go the way like this?

    that's Blues!!

  • Beck is great, but the second best guitar player in this video.

  • Jeff Beck is a legend, BB can´t be descrived as a legend, Is just bigger then that!!!

  • in Ab !

  • the best

  • This is like The Joy Of Painting with Bob Ross when someone mentions mistakes...it's a "happy accident". The best part of playing live hands down. All raw and no technical perfection...just letting it all hang out. EVERYONE makes mistakes when playing live....the greats just don't let you hear them. Always blows my mind when Beck plays his runs and uses his wammy to make it sound like a slide solo. SO SO GOOD!

  • WHO SAYS HE ERRED OR HIT WRONG NOTE?!! CLOSE YOUR EYES AND LISTEN TO THAT PART AGAIN AND ITS LIKE PART OF THE PLAY..

BECK CHANGES THE USUAL SOUND OF BLUES AND NOTE HOW HE CRUELLY MANIPULATE THE WANG BAR..

AND IF YOU HAVE A COPY OF THE LIVE FREEWAY JAM WITH JAN HAMMER, HOLD ON TO IT CAUSE ITS BECK AT ITS BEST!!

  • @cruisn481 That's right! But look at BB's expression when he hears it go down like that!

  • why the crappy midi keyboards, please don't ruin this killing tune. And Beck sounds great behind BB. Damn times...

  • that just gave me a smile couldnt hold it back

  • There is something very special watching BB King and Jeff Beck play this song together! The Blues warms the heart, mind and spirit and most importantly reminds each and every one us we all have are our own individual highway.. . Love the Blues and learn from it.

  • the best there ever is in blues..

  • Who the fuck care? he sound better when he miss than me when i hit the right note XD

  • of course he missed it, look at the look on Jeff's face when he does it..its like a "ohhh damn it" who cares.. he is a fantastic player and with the idea that he probably hits 99.9 % of his notes its ok by me, he is human - he is one of the best.

  • Was marvellous to my ear bones! Thx much!

  • Honestly, it's hard as sh!t to play what he played during such a blues progression. It's not normal and it takes a beast like Beck to bring out those licks out during such a song. This is one of the best blues solos I have ever heard in this day and age. Breaking barriers this guitarist is.

  • bb is in fine voice is he not? yeah,if you wanna pick Beck does have a glitch at 3:20.to me it just shows he's human.

  • @treyrosenmeyer If you want to see whether or not Jeff Beck is really human check out the "Nessun Dorma -Jeff Beck Febuary 21,2010" video on here. ONLY Jeff could do what he did & still come out a winner looking cool & still be able to pull off the song.

  • doesn't jeff look nervous ??

  • @gaston916 I don't care who you are, if you're on stage with B.B. King, you damn well BETTER be nervous.

  • 2 of the very best

  • Jeff Beckって基本、指弾きやんな~。 ⇨

(Posted by Youtube Stream for iPhone (yst.me) on behalf of moripton at twitter)

  • Damn I wish I could play like Jeff with just my thumb.

  • Jeff is the bollock's. BB is the body.

  • Mistakes on guitar are like scars on your face: they're a roadmap to your past and badges of honor. I wish I were good enough to make as many mistakes as Jeff and BB have. :)

  • @TheFred156 Yes it is so !

  • Where i can find the tab of this song with Jeff Beck? Its sounds great

  • jeff's sound is unique.

  • jeff nailed that. you can see how much respect he has for the king!

  • Jeff sounded almost human on this. Even when he plays a little sloppy, I wish I could play half as good. He's one of the best.

And yes that was a funny look from BB when Jeff messed up a little.

  • @tcstratman I think Beck is always trying to come up with something fresh and soloing in the moment. Props to King too, he sounds great.

  • Jeff Beck takes guitar playing to a totally higher level, no one can touch him.

  • A great song perfomed by two of the greats. Jeff Beck is simply the guitar player.

He can play every style and is just great both on slide and ordinary guitar. Just one of the best ever. Listen to his playing on this song....................

  • Lick this!

  • Comment removed

  • EVERY computer that I've ever watched this on, and that's a handful, well the CPUs just cannot cope with JB's gutty guitar @ 5:05 LOL!

  • He is a sweet player jeff Beck

  • This is off of the DVD B. B. King Live by Request from 2003. Easy to find online--or locally I would hope.

  • wowow my favourite solo all time at the moment!! fuck shredding not listen to it anymore this is the real thing

  • @slimyesli true words! shredding is for kids who want to impress everybody this is for real man!

  • theres no such thing as wrong notes, just ones don't like.

  • What Concert or perfomance is this? any dvd?? i really hope so!!

  • @SebinusPremier Hey son....You may never be on their level, but you gotta keep kickin' ass!

  • Great tune . Aside from the two wonderful musicians featured on the video I just love the theme and lyrics of the song.

  • Wow at 5.44 the sound on JEFF,S guitar...priceless!!!!!!!

  • LOL at @5:16 , some's enjoying it too much ;)

  • @AnalLeakageTV LOL that is the best comment yet! you can see this guy at different times during the clip. kind of a spaz, he needs to learn to relax a bit, its just guitar lol:)

  • like father and son :)

  • Jeff and B.B King together, wow.. perfect. Those of you expecting Jeff to sound flawless should find another balls to the wall shredder to cream over. Jeff is THE real deal, always will be. The man explores for new heights every time he touches the instrument and guess what? REAL musicians want to hear that.. so if you want to hear "no mistakes", go listen to Malmsteen or some other trash.

  • I actually cried when bb sang "'Cause when I leave this time you know I,

I won't be back no more." I love his music so much. I know I will miss him when he is gone.

  • Jeff Beck is obviously a great guitar player but I'd rather he not try to do as much and actually hit the notes hes playing...

  • @Immaculate416 Why is there always someone like you? What went wrong in you peoples life that you have to try and scrutinize near perfection. Get a fuckin life, and if you don't have anything good to say, DON'T SAY A FUCKIN THING.

  • @allahknows Its an opinion, kinda like the one that your an overly sensitive douche bag.

  • @allahknows they need to pick up a guitar and try to play flawless...not even that, they need to try to improvise like jeff or bb does.

  • I loved it!! lucky audience....

  • Since you all love Jeff so much I have to say: I have never "gotten" his playing. I have always thought he was horrible. Some of the projects he's done like the remake of the old Gene Vincent stuff was AWESOME,...but the wammy bar/tapping shit...I just. don't. get it.

  • @ryanintopeka In my opinion, I think its great because it really mimics the elasticity and freedom of the human voice but through guitar. Its just so unique and beautiful to me

  • @chuminat0r totally agree... no one could explain it better!

At first (when i started playing guitar) i didnt like his playing, but now, after 10 years of practice and hearing thousands of guitar players i finally understand what he does with his guitar, and i love it!

I've never seen anyone who has got jeff's tone, its really, really hard and beautiful for me too.

    cheers!

  • ingen over , ingen til siden , rett og slett fantastisk , jeff B. er gitar-virtuos'en , herlig sound .

  • There's no mistakes here. There's just reckless abandon blues guitar playing. Some people have their heads up their asses.

  • This is so perfect

  • Happy birthday, Mister KING! Love your expression when Jeff fluffs at 3:12 !

  • i love that sohg!

  • my computer have been hacked for long times

  • THose who never made mistakes before can take a stone and start throwing Jeff.

  • bravo jeff! personal signature

  • 5:46 the greatest LOL ever!

  • @jamima222 Are you fucking kidding?? Even Clapton, himself, has said that he's nowhere near Jeff's level and that Jeff can play things he can't even begin to wrap his head (or fingers) around.

  • @rodentcafeteria This guy is correct.

  • @jamima222 Oh really? Clapton says that when Beck is "on" he's in his own league above all others.

  • I love that reaction King gives at the botched note. No problem for Beck or the music, though...good tunes.

  • i only heard one mistake. and he recovered so perfectly it barely stood out. besides, his style is taking risks. when it works hes clearly the best guitarist in the world. the only time theres even a debate about who could be better is when he has an off performance. and even then he usually wins. metal guitarists cant improvise for crap, so if they screw up theyr so called perfect playing, then thats what they are: screwed

  • What a fantastic version of a classic standard. Two of the world's greatest guitarists in harmony. Thanks for posting Cheerspro

  • f,,, the wee bummers, who cares, when Jeff plays you get a straight line into his musical soul, whatever he feels right there and then, not scales and appegios practised with a metronome for weeks on end ,cant get enough of him beckmeister, superb,

  • they might be mistakes but they sounded fukin good

  • even god screws up on occasion.

  • AWESOME display of what blues is all about. Both of these titans showing the world why blues is the heart and soul of what they do. Gonna call it a night with this one...

  • Love this song, it's the Blues in a nutshell. Respect to BB and Jeff.

  • im not even much of a blues fan.. but this is some serious shit. respect

  • No one bends like JB

  • @adamfuckingmasia Beck and Buddy Guy are two of the best string benders I know. I think Guy edges out Beck, though.

  • is that baby powder on jeffs guitar neck

  • i saw only a litle mistaske

nothing to end up with the show,

stop criticizing. and come on hes clearly not at his best here.

  • A lot of people can play, but BB feels what he he plays. He has paid the cost

  • Ya brother, tell em how it is...I remember for a long time I didn't dig the blues cause there was the occasional "clam" in there, then something switched, I think it was the first blues music I heard live, then I got it. It's the feeling, you can play a million metal or classical tunes and not get the feeling of one blues.

  • no words to describe... they certantly have something more...

  • @stringbean525 try and play like bb. go ahead... make my day

  • Jeff I love you but at 3:15 is everything ok? :)

    look the king's face!!he can't believe his eyes!! ;)

  • Did BB twitch @ 3:13-3:14?

  • I think being a really ugly musician who's amazing at what they do is cool

  • I love mistakes. Most times mistakes opens the door to an other musical room. Some ideas started out of mistakes.

  • @BuddyDog03 like potato chips

  • great

  • The father and one of the greatest guitarists in rock-blues history

  • fuckin sound is off from the picture, but nicelly done by both, as always

  • Shit. I wish I was there.

  • Another great co-op in the arts arena.

  • Jeff beck and B.B. king

    fuckin great

  • No such thing as a "wrong" note - T Monk

  • Jeff has forgotten more tasty riffs and licks than most seasoned musicians will ever learn. That's why Joe Perry, David Gilmour, Brian May and Eric C. cite him as their favorite player. He simply is peerless.

  • @ledboots2009 yup but David Gilmour will always be #1 to me, then Beck at #2.

  • @Fretlessjay

    ... who cares?

  • @TrollingPhilosopher simple , me asshole : )

  • @Fretlessjay hahahahah ... that's a good one ......

  • bb king face at 3:16 lol
