That's not true. You don't have to cut it down. I all totally natural and I let my hair stay at shoulder length and let it grow out naturally with regular trimming. As far as locs you will have to cut all the relaxers off.

@classof10thatzcrosby get castor oil from the pharmacy and oil your scalp twice a week with your braids in. Trust me it grows fast, btw the castor oil will tickle your scalp but thats normal. hope i helped

You can get sister locs with perm hair you only need a few inches of new growth i has two inc when i got mines.
