  • Good video I'm trying to get more upper body strength for AAU and basketball season so I can be more effective in the post

  • yeah here's the thing when i try to do pull ups and push ups on pull ups my body will plung down on push ups my body will start to shake that's the truth

  • I'm a 115lb 5ft girl and I was wondering if I could avoid so much muscular definition and still get the strength, is that possible are there tricks, or is there anything I could do to avoid protruding muscles I don't want crazy abs and arms lol I wana have my feminine body and be strong enough to work out on the same level as this guy. Any suggestions?

  • @JosephineSB Body weight exercise is the way to go. I'm not bulky but I'm very strong from the way I exercise. Also, your natural female hormone balance will prevent you from getting really bulky. When you see pictures of women with huge muscles, you can bet they are using steroids and/or other artificial means to gain size. Body weight exercise, even at high intensity, will give you strength while keeping you feminine.

  • thanks you so much I have upper body strength but I need more so I can do better free running, thank you very much!!!!!!!

  • @mastergamer591 me to man! tell me if you find anything

  • Does the door push up work better than a pull up bar? I have hard time with the pull up bar I guess because i'm scared i'll break it. I'm a female and I weigh about 174 and I'm 5'10 I'm trying to build some upper body for the flex arm hang any tips?

  • @TickleMebird I'd rather use a pull-up bar because you have more versatility. Among other things, you can only face your palms out on a door, but it does the job. If the pull-up bar is mounted correctly and you pull smoothly without jerking in the beginning of the pull, you should have no problem with the bar.

  • hi!it must be great to be so strong at that age!is ti good for me to and the pullups slowly like the hindu pushups!because they say if you do isometric very usual you feel out of energy

  • @fitness4mylife I mix up my strength workouts, one day fast and explosive, one day high reps, one day more focused on maximal strength and/or slow reps.

  • hey uhhmmm just wondering if u knew do pushups help u build bicep muscles?

  • @3lpa704 To build biceps you need a pulling motion, not pushing. Pull-ups are great because they build both biceps and lats at the same time.

  • im 150 pounds and 6 and 5'11 is there a posabilaty i could damage the door if i try to do a pull up on it

  • @kc192837465 I was 170 when this video was made, so you should be OK. Stay in towards the hinges where the structure is more secure.

  • hello i have to do a fit test and push ups and sit ups are a requirement.. and both i can barely do?? i need your help..if u dont mind !! for push ups i try doing the moderated version( putting knee on ground) but still find it difficult to do... is there other ways or do i just have to keep practicing it to build my strength?

  • @bluebabyryu96 Put your hands on the edge of a kitchen countertop and put your feet back about three to four feet. Bend your arms until your chest touches the edge of the counter, then push back. This should be easier than push-ups on the ground from your knees.

    Hope that helps.

  • hi im 14 i need to be able to do a lot of pushups i need to go down the whole way please help

  • @CanuckFan96 If you can't do regular push-ups on your hands and feet, start by doing them on your hands and knees until you build your strength. Be sure to allow your muscles to recover or you just slow down your progress. Do strength training every other day, not every day.

  • thankyou for the upper body bit, your the only person that made any sense and didnt try to sell me stuff :)

  • Your videos rock! Finally someone who knows what they're doing is putting up some simple, effective, informative information. Your videos are packed with content.

    And...

I don't know if you've heard about these, but you can handle everything else so maybe you'll like them. Planche pushups! Im a high school pole vaulter in very good shape, and I do lots of bodyweight, but I'm nowhere close to being able to do these. Long term goal for me.

You need to do a vid on those if you can do them!

  • what if the door was to close ?

  • @EliteNZPlayerZ put an object behind the door that isnt easily moved or use a box and put it diagonally so it is touching the doorframe and the door at the same time

  • thx

  • Great advice, cheers.

  • very helpful! i hope i can do at least 2 pull ups by the end of the year!

  • I'm guessing the problem is either a) not enough strength yet, or b) fear. Either way, starting with normal push-ups and gradually changing the angle will get you there.

  • i need advice i cant flip my feet onto the wall i need help!!!!!!

  • nice one Robert! you are one amazing musician too btw, you lucky sod working with Zappa! That last push up i do around 30 of now a day, when i started i could barely do 2 - 3 a day, but they really work! I hope to be looking as good in my 60's as you do now man, peace.

  • Thanks! They really do work, don't they? Glad to be of help.

BTW, I'll be performing at the Zappanale this August in Germany.

  • i need help you see i watch how you do your excersize but i don`t have the power to do it

  • Work the negative like I suggest in the video, you'll get there!
