I really love this. I LOVE Tina sooooo much. Just amazing, this woman. I read that John Lennon had intended the original to be more like Tina's version- slower. But he turned it into a rock song for commercial appeal. Anyway, she made this her own. You are amazing TT.
i can watch this forever and ever and ever and ever and ever, look at the passion in her voice and face, she truly wants to entertain. she truly give yr the money worth and above all... what she is singing tina has live it and been there. love u always tina
This performance was one of the main reasons I became hooked on Tina! I was passed an old cassette of 'Tina Live In Europe' whilst on holiday in the late 1980s which I listened to on my walkman - I couldn't believe how great it was! I'd totally under-estimated her until that point - in an instant I understood her brilliance! She didn't get the recognition till much too late in life but I'm so pleased she got it eventually! An absolute bona-fide star!
THE BEST WILL EVER BE. .THE BEST FEMALE PERFORMER AND THERE WILL BE NO MORE TALENT LIKE THIS WILL WALK THIS PLANET......THANK YOU GOD FOR CREATING SUCH A WOMAN LIKE THIS...
As a survivor of childhood abuse and later a wife, girlfriend, time and time again, I was touched so deeply by this song, her version. The Beatles paid attention to the music, it was good, but, TIna did it like it should be done. My heart goes out to her and all that have experienced this pain out there. Not sure if a song can heal it all though?
honestly this is the first time I saw the video and i am really amazed and shocked because its the queen of rock i thought all this time that its a guy singing and from the first time i heard that version i fell in love with it.... WOW SHE IS REALLY AMAZING!!!!
what is the song she sang a few years back.... that says 'rich bitch out by the pool' ..help me find this song, I can't think of anything but that... ; )
@kaylovesmuzik: no no no....that was a song from the LP, Private Dancer called Steel Claw. This is a remake of the Beatles song of the same name. I've seen this in person 6 times, and every time, it will make you cry. She's freakin' AMAZING!!
This is such a great song, when i was able to go and meet her back stage, she sang this song and i was like 100ft away from her and i couldnt believe it, it was so nice to just touch and talk to her for a few..
@TyneBridge56 i fully agreed. look at the passion, in her voice and her face, she is truly a true performer. and for t hat who dislike this video i notice ten people press dislike u must cant hear or either blind lol and to k now she was a middle age women here not that it matter, come on she is true blue and great
The Acid queen, they used to call her...she's a goddess to me. she takes this song and brings it to life..brings me to tears of joy and sorrow at the same time & looks good doing it. in my mind Ike turner did one GREAT thing in his tortured life...he brought us Tina !! for that we owe him a debt of gratitude. RIP Ike....ROCK ON TINA !!
I've always loved The Beatles' "Help" because Lennon often said that when he wrote and sang this song, he really was crying for help. There have been some very good covers of this song over the years, like from Roy Orbison and The Damned. However, Tina's version is the most brilliant. When one looks at Tina's own life, she makes this song sound autobiographical. How many singers can do that? Or how many of today's singers can do that?
true, u know tina often said all the years of trying to make a come back and get notice, she told every time she sung this song, she was really crying out for help as well. that why its so special to her.
Until a few years ago, I had no idea that Tina covered this song. Well, she owns it now in my book. I have gone through some tough times, and I always come back to this song when I need some "help." The power and sincerity she gives this song is not comparable and cannot be replicated by any song or any artist. I love it, and I love her.
omg~She made me cry....She's not my generation= ="...but I found the female singers I love, one of their idol is TIna Turner...So I tried to listen to her songs..She's just amazing!!!
when I worked 90+ hours per week, attended school more than full-time and cared for an ailing mother--this song kept me going knowing that there was hope for a better future--thanks TINA! you are so awesome--your life story, your mere existence surely magnifies your ability to stand aganist all odds--you are truly the TINA as the world knows you--you are freakin AWESOME--thanks for the song and the video to whom ever made it avail. Peace--live long in proper--live is not te end it simply started
TINA so owned this song! The ending is just way to thunderous and overwhelming! Simply brilliant! The soul and spirit TINA delivered through this song is a force to be reckon with!
been looking and longing to hear the slow version of this song and without my knowing it was ms. tina turner's. i love her rendition for she sang it perfect, with passion, and magnificence. thank you, youtube and to that someone posted it. really appreciated...
apples and oranges babe. yes the beatles were great. yes this was a good song but tina INTERPRETS it in such a way that it makes it a DIFFERENT song for all intents and purposes
Wow this is amazing. John Lennon knew what he was talking about when he said that Help! should have been recorded at a slower tempo. You hear and feel more of the pain and depression compared to the Beatles version. But I love the Beatles version too! They're both great!! Yay Tina T. + Beatles!!!
Tina 'borrowed' this song from Macca when she left Ike wiv nowt but the clothes she was wearing and 5 Dollars in her purse . Worra great lass..singing from the heart.
Apparently the story goes like this...Tina had just left Ike and she had the clothes she stood up in and 5 Dollars cash in her purse....she met Macca who said summit like do u need a song Tina...have my Help number [dunno if co written wiv Mr Lennon!!!?] She sang it [really well] and became lifelong friend with Macca.
she turns a pop song into a chilling blues drama with rockin sex appeal, song describes a person once full of youthfull, ego driven pride now older & wiser--stumbling, helpless, broken down & begging redemption. Her '08 version great, but this version sets the all-time standard. Wish it was a single on radio.
Ahhhh, me too and the tears were streaming down; especially at 8 rows from the stage. It was overwhelming, so much energy. What a gift. She seemed very appreciative.
The one song which made me a fan of TINA TURNER since 1985 after watching this performance and listening to the Private Dancer album. This version always tears me into pieces...
I saw Tina perform "Help" in Toronto, back in 2000. She drew the soul out of my heart. However, by the same token, she made everyone realize how a simple a "simple" song can be so beautiful.
Even though, I feel, nothing beats the original,Tina made you listen to the lyrics of the song. You felt as you said the passion and emotion. A good song when you feel vulnerable it's stirs your emotions.
God bless u tina, with ur life u have helped many men and women rise from their hurt and pain and seek a new direction to follow with faith and strength, may God's light suround u always, more than a singer to the world , u r all of us who move forward and get better !!!!
Arguably one of TINA's all time best live performance of the song! This performance made me listen up, pay attention to TINA's energy, soul and sensuality she put into her performance. I have never looked back since... 1985.
Finally, Finally some one put this song up, oh my gosh!!! I love this performance and song, Wow I remember this from the mid 80s, Tina sing this song with all her might and soul, gosh i love her..thank you for putting this performance up
This is the best performance of this song that you will ever see of this song...by Tina or anyone else. She transcends. What a song, and what a performance.
What a stunning performance. There were a lot of great comebacks in 1980's rock---The Everly Brothers, Gary U. S. Bonds, John Fogerty, etc.---but Tina's comeback in 1984 was clearly the best. A good reason for that was her ability to take almost any song and make it sound autobiographical. There are not too many performers who can do that, even today.
I fell in love with Tina in 1983. This song is one of my favorites. When I feel down, alone, frightened, I listen to this song. What LLscissorhands said "She didn't just sing this song, she felt it," basically sums it up. Through my life, and a lot of other individuals, I had to deal with my own demons (physical, emotional, spiritual) and this song still gives me courage to fight - the same way that Tina fought in her life. Bravo, Tina!

The greatest comeback of the 80's. I remember the thrill of her resurrgence for our culture. Wow!
