Surfing Fairy Bower, offshore 2-3m east swell

The walkway out to Fairy Bower starts from the Surf Club back at South Steyne - the southern most end of Manly Beach. If you stay on the path you end up at beautiful Shelley Beach which is a small beach tucked in behind the headland where these dudes are surfing. The area there is known as Fairy Bower (The "Bower" to locals ). Winkipop and Deadmans are further around the headland directly in front of the cliff face. On rare days the whole lot can link up. One of my fav places.

bower and winki are pretty localised. be a good guy, dont snake, dont drop, and you can have a really good time.

deadmans only works on bigger swells though..

you can just swim from shelly, its like a 50m swim out from the beach at shelly, just follow the rocks and the reef, you'll see like 400 boulders in the water and thats where it is, around from thats deadmans as well
