  • My dc vga hookup hdtv for most of the time the screen is Blacked out 2 inches to the left vertically. I hooked up my tv to my pc I got a full picture then 2 days later I got full screen dramcast/vga hook up to my lcd tv. A few days later it went back to blacked out to the left. How can I fix it?

  • when i listen that song

i feel so sad :( for remember that moments with my dreamcast console

    great... moments <3

i love this MASTER VIDEO GAME CONSOLE <3

  • @NeonChileJumper

hi..its not too late to get one man..Sturmwind is coming for Dreamcast and its waesome.Check my site.Dc rocks

  • DAMN!

    nice my friend <3

  • I run my DC on a HDTV and it looks great just a shame I can't play light gun games, luky I can use my KIds 19 CRT TV for that lol

  • Is that awidescreen monitor?

  • @FeeLtheHertZ YeP!!! But it will be stretched.

  • @JonnMcNally

If you mean my monitor the Dreamcast looks cool and not scretched

  • @dreamcasting2008 It doesn't look stretched, but it's not possible to be not-stretched. The game was not programmed to fit on wide-screens of any sort.

  • Hi there, i'm thinking of picking up a Dreamcast again as I used to love them, but I now own a 32" HDTV running a PS3, I just wondered what a Dreamcast would look like on this? I've heard of converters you can buy to switch the VGA so it can run 480p on a HDTV, but I can't seem to find any at a decent price or many avaliable. Should I be okay running the dreamcast on my HDTV through the normal standard VGA? Nice vid btw, good music choice :). Thanks mate

  • @playstionrules03

Hi freind!! sorry for the late reply...Glad that we will buy a Dreamcast u will love it.:)

Yes the vga can upscale dreamcast output at 480p.You can get VGA adapters for Dreamcast in ebay or amazon and if you are lucky at playasia. Now as for the standard VGA wont upscale the resolution but it would be ok to play.I recomend the VGA.thank for your nice comment apreciate!!!!!!!

  • @dreamcasting2008 I also have a Dreamcast and want to play it on my HDTV. However i was wondering if can i buy a standard vga box like the ones on ebay from China. They are going for £16. instead of a custom dreamcast vga.. as i would like to play my snes via vga too.

thank you in advance for your reply :)

  • @playstionrules03 not to discourage you, ive been playing the shit out of my dreamcast lately. but just hooked up with the av cables it looks worse on an HD tv than it does on a regular tv. just doesnt looks right. somewhat blurry/not colorful. havent had a chance to check out these vga things yet but supposedly theyre really nice

  • @playstionrules03

It will be sharp and clear but as with all last gen consoles it will look jaggy. stetching a 640X480 image on an lcd hdtv is not pretty imo. Dreamcast on a CRT using vga is the best way imo. Jaggies are almost gone on an old pc crt monitor.

  • great gaming with large screen.

  • the dreamcast hooked up to pretty much any size of LCD computer monitor looks fantastic its when you hook it up to any Big T.V it might look a little stretched.

  • nice vid and really nice song

  • nice video and nice song too :P

  • what's the name of the song, please?

  • turn off this stupid music man!!!

  • pls tell me. does it look better on 22" than on 17"??

I tried all and to me it looks vga on dreamast looks good on 17"and smaller but anything bigger it will stretch the image sometimes so much that it looks worse than regular rgb scart.

  • If the screen gets bigger the resolution gets more streching..Thats right. But I have also tried my Dreamcast in 17 and 22 inch monitors...At this monitor 22" Dreamcast looks so good and detailed..much better than 17"

  • that is very weird. could it be the vga box?? what vga box you use?

  • you use a 22" hdtv right?? if you use an lcd screen of 22" like on your pc it looks alot less good in my experience. I tried it now on a 32" samsung hdtv and it looks awesome now

  • i wanna a vga box T-T

    o, and a question,

if the logo on my dream cast is red, make a diference??

  • It doesn't matter. The Blue Dreamcast logo means that his Dreamcast is european, since the red swirl was already copyrighted in Europe by another company.

  • vga cable or vga box is rare in Brasil=(

  • Hey my friend resident evil code veronica is compatible with vga cable???

  • dreamcast in vga 480p is really good ,is very nice.

xbox1,ps2 and game cube is good in 480p with componente cable, but dreamcast is best in 480p

with vga cable, dreamcast graphics in vga is amazing, shenmue, quake3,deador alive2 etc =)

    ty for video^^

sorry for my ingles im brasilian^^

  • is there supposed to be an orange light for the american dreamcasts? PLEASE REPLY!!

  • @evillink125

yes all dreamcasts have orange light..UK,PAL,NTSC,JP all these verions have orange light :)

    Only the logo change!

  • @dreamcasting2008 the reason for the logo change too is because a german company actually has the rights to the orange swirl logo in the PAL region so they used a blue swirl but the orange swirl remain in north america and japan because it didn't comply here or there. cant remember the name of the company though, that took the rights to the orange swirl at the moment. good vid

  • Hey nice video. I have a widescreen as well but the screen is moved over to one side. Do you know how to fix it?

  • @heavymetalpunkrock

hi thanks for the comment...Most monitors have buttons to move the screen from the menus..try to move the screen with screen's menus.

  • hey thanks I didn;t even know my monitor had buttons before but thanks to you I got it fixed.

  • : ) great...

  • Why is the image stretched to wide screen?

    STOP DOING THAT

(friends don't let friends play stretched / distorted)

  • hmm, why is the emblem on your DC blue, like the PAL dreamcasts, but your DC's light is orange, like NTFS?

  • No actually Pal Dreamcast has blue DC swirl and orange light. The light its the same to all Dreamcast regions ;)

  • Wow, what a terrible song!

  • This makes the Picture look 40% better than Composite. It only displays on 17" of my 19" monitor tho.

  • i ordered one but it would not work. the power light would not turn on. and nothing would display on my moniter.

  • what?did you checked the wires?everything was pluged and pushed?

  • yea, i was going to send it back but i lost the box. so I'll just order another one.

  • Using my VGA box I find there is a black border to the left of the screen (apparently due to the 60hz signal) - any ideas as to how to get rid of it?

  • Its not a big deal..You can move the image..Monitors have menus to set the image properly..

  • song?

  • It's called "Why the Hell Do You Want to Know?" by The Noisy Idiots.

  • I have a 25 inch lcd screen but how can I manually put down the resolution because it doesn't look so good on it

  • do you have the VGA cable for Dreamcast?

  • yes I use my vga box on it but the screen is too big I think so it stretches the native resolution so it becomes less good looking then on a 17" screen for instance.

  • i think that monitors like that have sub menus to reduce the resuloution..

  • yes I would've thought so but it's not in the menus on my screen but I will try to find a way :)

  • So what is a VGA box? What does it do?

  • VGA box upscales the Dreamcast video signal output.Plus it has an output for monitors! Not the DVI the analog. But you can convert this..

  • The VGA box is awesome! It really does bring many games up to date - its a handy device for composite/component as well (with the right cable presumably). I use the VGA setting for all the 3D games, all the Shmups etc. but there are some games that will only accept composite - some fighting games, quite alot of Japanese games as well I find, generally I play my fighting games without VGA..

Great device - I got mine off Ebay.

  • that is awsome

  • Does your monitor support 640x480?

I have a 22" widescreen also but the lowest i can set my res is 800x600.

  • No the Dreamcast automatically give the suitable video signal....

When i play PC games on that monitor i think that i can reach the lowest 640X480...

  • Usually lag on LCD's is caused by the video processing circuit, If you want to be 100% sure get a tv that you know works well with Guitar Hero or has a "Game Mode" Most newer tv's have no lag problems at all, It was mostly the older generations with slower video processors.

I don't have a video yet, My camera's not here atm but I used the VGA box on a DLP projector w/ VGA input & put it on an 80" screen, WOW It's really awesome! Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 and Crazy Taxi are stunning on it.

    -Bryan

  • Man i imagine it...It should be very cool..Please make the video if you find free time and post it here as video responce..!!!

  • too bad you can't house of the dead 2 or virtual cop 2 on lcd, sigh....

  • no lagging as you can see it runs smooth and clear!!

  • Damnit, who still makes the vga box?

  • LONG LIVE THE DREAM!!!!!!

  • LOL... Im using THE SAME monitor with my DreamCast! xD

  • Hey man I see your comment about you're going to try it on 32". I've got a 32" Samsung LCD HDTV and im going to buy a VGA box probably within the next 3 days or so but I was wondering if I would be playing the games in a 4:3 screen?

  • I have a Blaze VGA box and the

    images are strong bold and

clean. I play my DC on video

projector too and it looks great.

  • Do you reckon one of these would look decent on a 26 inch widescreen HD TV? Or would it looks too stretched? Or a 21 inch widescreen Computer moniter. Let me know. p.s great vid, dreamcats rocks.

  • in a few moths i will make a video showing Dreamcast running on TFT LCD 32"......So stay tuned in my channelllllll..

Then alll your questions will be covered!!!!!

    ; )

By the way i think that on 21 monitor would be much much better buddy.....

    !!!

  • What about wide screen displays .. got an hanns g 28" ... does the dreamcast get it right or is the quota stretched?

  • Hmmm i havent tested in such a big monitor or even tv but i think that if u conected with scart output or even rgb it will look wonderfull.Check this video mate:

    /watch?v=C4912spFL9g

  • I don´t have a scart connection only a real VGA Box.

  • it fits all the screen?? with no black bands??

    thanks!!

  • yes it has no blank gaps.Dreamcast gets all the screen with the vga box...besides u can see it in my video ;)

  • Looks Great, where you buy it the VGA box?, EBAY?

  • Yes i bought it on Ebay on a great price!!

By the way thanx for the comment!!!

  • Amazon shopping site.

  • OMG... i want a VGA Box so bad!!! :(

  • i have a 19" LCD,and im getting a DC for christmas,i have no TV so ima get one of these aha cheers xD

  • How do you have your sound hooked up? If there is a VGA cable to your monitor from the A/V port, how does your audio connect?

  • The Dreamcast VGA box(the blue box as shown at my video)at the top it has a Female sound adapter. Its were the sound can be routed to your PC speakers. All you need is a cable(the same you use to your MP3 headphones. With a female and a male adapter.

  • i'm gonna have to rig the DC to my 32" HDTV now :)

  • dude that's a nice ass setup

  • Thanx..Its my new monitor tested on Dreamcast..

    Dreamcast looks great!!!

    Connected with VGA cable

    THANX for posting!!!
