Back in the early 1970's the Drifting Cowboys were doing a show at the Boonesboro Firemen's carnival. While they were on break I talked to Jerry Rivers and Don Helms about their experiences with Hank Williams Sr. Another friend was there as well and asked Jerry if it was true that Hank was so moved by Anita's version of this song that he shed tears. Jerry and Don just looked at one another and grinned... Anita recorded two versions and I'm not sure but I think both were after Hank died.
