I've seen robots build on wheels similar to these. Is this a Killough platform or something different?
Seeing that car with four wheels skitter sideways across the screen at the beginning of the video was crazy! Certainly got my attention :) (Did that thing just do what I thought it did?)
Great interpretations of the design. Baffles me why more urban cars aren't designed with omni-direction drive systems, other than that one Japanese concept car. It'd come in pretty handy in London.
wow how did u come up with that idea for the wheels and turn ito lego? its was good that u used 4 indepented motors but take care when using bevel gears they have a high chance if snaping..GOOD WORK!
@paisis123 This technology has been used on forklifts for quite some time now, it was only a matter of time until someone figured it out with LEGO parts.
that kind of wheels are used MythBusters. but wow

Does the wheel work when the vehicle is heavy?
sokraal 11 months ago
@sokraal It works fine for this 500 grams heavy car. for bigger vehicles there are bigger wheels also made by me, check video responses.
Zblj1987 11 months ago
@Zblj1987 These wheels are cheaper for me because I just needed wheels.

Can withstand greater load wheels retain their ability to ride on the side?
sokraal 11 months ago
@sokraal Can you rephrase the question?
Zblj1987 11 months ago
@Zblj1987 i think he was asking if it still can do side-slip maneuvers when it is heavily loaded

I am sure the driver isn`t happy about the vibration in this vehicle. Your racer needs a suspension.

ahh true that. could you consider putting up instructions for the wheel design or do u want someone to reverse engineer it?
