  • Fantastic song.

  • This song is so touching.I almost forgot about this song.

The moment he played that last harmonic note.I felt my heart tingle.

  • i would like to hear a version of this song with a slower tempo

  • Such joyful music. I have a whole playlist made up of all of Antoine's wonderful music. What a talented guy. I appreciate that you share your gift with us, Mr. DuFour! Thank you!

  • beautiful!

  • Its really sad that some of the best musicians that ever lived are not even known by so many ears...

  • Billboard charts these days, always make me realize Music is dead but, I was wrong. Music lives here and im so happy that I can share with over 1000 ppl who have same feeling.

  • 1. 0:00

    2. google "rainymood" and click on first link

    3. ENJOY

  • @TheGreatFlyFisher good idea there. i like it :D

  • @Dkibjs good, aha its so relaxing

  • I'm getting RSI from hitting the 'like' on Antoine's vids

  • so awesome. . .i love the rhythm.

  • holy crap i really NEED to learn this one - otherwise i won't die in peeace

  • ive always thought of theory kinda like karate. like, you dont need to know karate to fight someone, but if you have a fuckin black belt in goon-jitsu, you can really mess someones shit up very quickly.

  • @TheFunkyCriminal Haha, that's a cool way of looking at it. I'm on the fence of learning theory at the moment. Well, I know modes and have a basic knowledge of scales and such. I think studying music arrangement can help more than theory. I write a lot of cool sounding riffs and licks, but fitting them together to make a song is quite challenging...

  • i think 0:00 to 4:01 was the best part, just my opinion though

  • finally learned the whole thing. but getting it up to that speed is gonna take a miracle.

  • The classical influences mixed with the jazz chord shapes and the funk rhythm is absolutely genius. That is the reason why if you want to play that well you have to have knowledge of alot of different areas of guitar playing and knowledge of theory..of course. I need to teach myself some more theory, this shit is so technical. love it, great playing man!

  • @Pudraig While there is wisdom to that......in the end...theory will get you nowhere. You wanna write music? Throw theory out the window...don't be weird or anything...haha!! Just play what you think sounds good. :)

  • @chunkyostrich well yeah of course play what sounds good, but having that knowledge is power and it gives you a considerable edge the only part after that is finding inspiration and being creative when you write. Creativity is the name of the game!

  • @Pudraig Definitely!! :) The warning there is just that people end up focusing on theory when in fact it should be the last thing considered (I think anyways) when writing or creating anything. :) Unfortunately..that knowledge which can be potential power is most often used in some of the most limiting ways to a creative mind, ya know? :\ Tis a sad, sad thing. :(

  • @chunkyostrich Theory DEFINITELY shouldn't be the last thing considered. I completely agree that you should play what sounds good and everything, but you can spend 5 minutes finding some good chord that would sound well adjacent to the last and next. You know what notes will go good with the next since you have scales. Be creative, but don't be naive. If song writing was robbing a bank, then theory would be like having schematics to the building. Not impossible without it, but wayyy helpful.

  • @RyanMcCurleyy I donno..Ive only just started messing around on guitar (I've played jazz flute for for about 8 years now) and I couldn't even tell you what notes Im playing but I like the way it sounds. To me, if I have any kind of ear, theory is shot down the drain. I know theory from the jazz I've played over the years, so I can hear that some of the chords and things I've found on guitar have things like #4's in them and all...but I couldn't tell you a single note, I just like what I hear. :)

  • @Elryy

    1:12 --> 2:55 Don Ross like!

  • @OskarStradal 1:12 --> 2:55 Antoine Dufour like!

  • Fucking LOVE that chord he slides down into at 1:46! Sounds so good in the context of the harmony!

  • just amazing - I can't find words for this

  • i hate people that try to do covers of songs like this. It isnt the same, people. its alright to learn the song and play it, but dont try to get a bunch of attention playing these songs, they dont sound good by anyone except by Antoine Dufour himself.. and thats why you only have 55 views.

  • @bajjilllion what do you know about music? They love it so they cover it, why don't you show us how?

  • @MySnowfox dude are you seriously being a hater right now? im complimenting how freakin amazing Antoine Dufour is. I cant cover it, and im not an attention whore, so im not going to post it on youtube even if I do learn it. and to answer your question i do know a bit about music, and i do play guitar.. i dont know why you seem so pissy over my comment, i was just pointing out the obvious, as well as my opinion, because most covers really cant compare to original songs like this

  • @bajjilllion of course, they can't possibly play like Antoine. You got me wrong, I love Antoine Dufour, I really do. But people don't cover it in order to be popular, they just want to express themselves with their passion about music. They don't deserve to be hated in any way. The number of covers shows us just how much the artist is appreciated.

  • @MySnowfox I think both of you have good points, but there's another side of why people learn these songs. I, personally, would love to write my own songs in this genre someday, and learning the songs that make up that genre are what helps me get there. If you want to play metal and write metal songs, you listen to and learn metal. The same goes for this. I think that's a huge reason why some people learn these songs.

  • @bajjilllion Haha you're somewhat stupid. So if i (in the the northwestern area of the U.S.) were to post a video for my father (cross the country) to watch that would be attention whoring? Those 55 people could all be extended friends and family. What makes it ok for you to post a douchebag comment and others can't post themselves covering some decent music? Would you rather see more beiber covers out there? Last, you post your opinion as if it is the truth. When sadly, it's not.

  • what kind of guitar does Antoine use?

  • @bajjilllion he uses beauregard guitars. Micheal beauregard is a guitar maker in Quebec your probably talking 10k+

  • What is a Ray & Anita featured video doing in the "suggestions" section?

  • 0:06 OMG HE HAS A THUMB

  • Your music exceeds my ability to understand.

How can one right such beautiful music ?

    Same goes for Andy Mckee.

    Thanks to both. ;)

  • What a strange progression of modes and keys in the beginning, Very nice work, Mr. Dufour. Very Latin-jazzy feel after the intro. Your work inspires me greatly.

  • just cuz music isnt played on the radio, it doesnt mean it isnt good.

whether or not fingerstyle guitar will ever be radio big, there is still a growing fan base and it is still one of THE most beautiful styles of music.

Love to all fingerstyle artists: Antoine Dufour, Andy Mckee, Sungha Jung, Kaki King, Erik Mongrain, and many more =)

  • Why can't they play songs like these on the radio?? Its so catchy and relaxing... This is actually MUSIC. Instead we are stuck with T-Pain, Justin Bieber, and even KIM KARDASHIAN??

  • Comment removed

  • Hard to believe this is the first fingerstyle song Antoine wrote... and it's his only one in standard tuning too!

  • @Rael0505 how about "memories of the future"?? it's in standard.. or am i wrong?

  • @xXDudeBoyXx Hahaha no, definitely not man. Memories of the Future even has an adjustable partial capo - and he changes the capo as the song goes on, too. Far from it!

  • @Rael0505 but if you release the third hand capo it's standard.. so technically it is standard..

  • is this a stonebridge? :)

  • it is rumored that if one were to play this in the open that all hottest women from 100 mile radius will drop what they are doing and flock to you in minutes to make sweet love, unfortunately this song can not be replicated by any other mortal. damn

  • Shiiiit, I didn't understand why It still doesn't have 10000000 viewes;/

  • @EugenePoluyachtov Try 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 views. All of Candyrat should have something like that. And Sungha Jung, Ulli Boegershausen, and other awesome guitarists out there you care to name :)

  • anybody knows the tuning for this song??

  • @xXDudeBoyXx standard tuning

  • @Stratman2929 thanks.

  • 1:12-2:40....I will learn that right now. And I will impress everyone at school with this shit :D

At least I will satisfy my sexual needs with playing it

  • @deank88 not many people do.... still, great guy

  • 1:12 to 2:40... love that part...

  • @THECOMEDIANCOCK agreed bro what can we do..!! we can't change the world.

  • great groove there brother!!!

  • @THECOMEDIANCOCK agreed 100% my friend.

  • what a brilliant guitarist.

  • Awesome song. Quite classically inspired.

If anybody has a tab for this song please throw me a message. I'd like to trade for other McKee/Ross/Dufour tabs if any interest.

  • @Firesuited He has a video explaining how to play most of this song. It's on his channel.

  • @Firesuited ...ughh description? ...or the saying comes to mind "Let's Google it"

  • @THECOMEDIANCOCK so true but i in turn they receive true cult status

  • just when i was starting to dig it ,, he falls back into that same percussive ryth..................!

  • I'm sorry for being frank, but I just don't get this guy's music..... it sounds beautiful, but I just can't find the rythm in it..... this song is really ok, but others are just so hard to get.....

  • @DarkLionInteractive thats the beuty of it, you gotta listen to the songs multiple times, then its just better, and better every time, this is a thinkers music. antoine's a thinkin man. lol

  • @WyldeSatriani I guess you're right.... I'll look into it ;)

  • @DarkLionInteractive you mean from a theory perspective? cause i'm really diggin this guys rhythem in his songs.

  • @markusthefarkus not necesarily, it's just a really unusual rythm.... you just have to listen to it a few times before it makes sense....

  • @THECOMEDIANCOCK Kind of like mute math, i suppose. At least, i think they're the really talented guys who do their own funky amazing sounds. but this group is known far less =/

  • Shit, why he is not so famous like lady gaga or justin bieber, or someone else from

this fucking MTV! It's not normal, he so talented man and i like his music, and i hope

    that he'll never stop....

  • @THECOMEDIANCOCK - this has been true for century's

  • @THECOMEDIANCOCK T agree completely, I dont listen to the radio too often anymore cause I'm getting sick of all the garbage thats being released these days.

I miss the 90s when music was good, or at least the early 2000s, when music was tolerable, albeit rapidly declining

  • truely progessive and innocating... beautiful composition

  • my fav. song by him....not the most technical, but its just so moving for some reason

  • spider hand 3:25

  • 1:13 <3

  • @Bigpotatos thats the best part man

  • when lucifer made music, he forgot to mention he took lessons from antoine.

  • @AcousticDreams0 no kidding huh?

  • wow some parts of this song sounded like *with you in mind* form don ross! I saw him live in quebec and he said it was because of don he started to play fingerstyle.

Its very apparent when you listen to his older stuff:)

  • This guy has done his homework..all of it....bastard :( never seen someone so at home with a guitar

  • @IbanezDemon ......don ross...jesse helms night in havanna

  • this song is incredible, it just sets a whole new mood

  • weezer???

  • since 1:14 i believe in god

  • haha first video ive seen by him thats in standard tuning

  • Candyrat is THE BEST. They have the best MUSICIANS out there. It doesnt take much to "create" computer generated pop and rap or whatever the rest of that crap is.

But this stuff...this stuff is good.

  • Antoine Dufour and Don Ross! Two of the worlds best!!!

  • all those people who listen to pop or rap are missing out on the best music being made

  • @killabananas dude i was a rap fan but now im not big on it at all. im black, lol i listen to this music and metal now.

  • @killabananas i listen to pop rap and this, why shouldn't you be able to listen to both?

  • @killabananas Not a pop or rap listener here, but that kind of people may also like stuff like this. Just sayin.

  • @MrFranciscoFidalgo Not so keen on pop but I listen to fair bit of rap and hip-hop. I think it's important to keep an open mind when it comes to music. :) I think he was reffering to people that listen to pop and rap exclusively though.

  • @killabananas Most are, yes. But those of us who make rap(well, we'll call it hip hop. Rap is different) from the heart, can appreciate and look for people making soulful music like this. I draw lyrics as well as physical samples from this music.

  • @killabananas you can listen to more than one genre.. thats kinda the point of music

  • @maju36able I totally agree, listening to pop or rap isn't guilty. I listen to them all the time and still, these guys are the ones I adore the most. I hope people won't criticize other genres of music, because nothing called music comes with just 1 genre.

  • @killabananas well there r gut pop stuff...bruno is gut...rap...as much as i rly dnt wanna admit it...i lyk dre...not beats....dre...lol

  • @killabananas What makes you think all those people who listen to pop or rap aren't listening to this too? If they're not, they should be.

  • @killabananas i listen to pop, rap and antoine

  • @killabananas rap is sometimes how people get into great, hard to find stuff. often with these groups or performers sample the most striking passage on a recording just to put it out there in a "fresh" format that will draw peoples interest to where and when that sound first appeared on record, and who made it.

  • I think I just fucking came.

  • See you in Hamburg at the Hamburg Guitar Festival!

    29.-31.10.2010

    Best wishes from Hamburg!

  • @THECOMEDIANCOCK %100 true

  • this is some funky timing!

  • Thanks a lot, but what about this song?

  • wats the tuning?

  • @trescorpuzz it's standard tuning :)

  • clap hands!!!!!

  • tabs? plz tabs...

  • look at Antoine YT acc. there is tutorial

  • @eliex-there's a link to the tabs up by the info box...they'll cost you tho

  • anyone know where i can find the tabs for this song?

    HALP!!!! HALP!!!! HALP!!!!

  • @jeanm09 The tabs are on Candyrat, but if you don't have the credit card for that he does a tutorial on youtube for the middle part of this song. It's harder to follow than a tab set but is easier than transcribing it by ear. The first and last part shouldn't be that hard to figure by ear either - especially since the song is in standard. Good luck learning!

  • Look in the description, you can buy the song with tab included at candyrat (dot) com

  • @jeanm09 I think you could buy it on candyrats web site. And you can also find a tutorial for the bridge part, made by Antoine, on youtube.

  • I love this. I am very glad that I am mostly done with figuring this song out.

  • Standard?

  • @reyzette yes

  • Are all of his tabs on Candyrat, cause I can't find "hiding place for the moon" (my favorite song) on there.

  • @penguinkid77 Look up nolono's channel, a fingerstyle guitar player on YouTube. He has a tab, along with a video and a tutorial for the tapping part.

  • this song is so hard to play.. my fingers are killin me

  • is the guitar with standart tunning?

  • what does the red bandana work for?

  • @tigreslokos

The purpose of it is to cancel the ringing noise of the strings when you mute & strum them

  • ooh, is it recomended?? to put some cloth in there?

  • The strings can make a noise past the 1st fret near the tuning heads when you mute the strings or strum hard, it is only very quiet but it is still aurable, so the bandana stops the noise

  • He shows why in a teaching spot he did on Youtube. Its to reduce the vibration that comes of those strings up at the top. He plays so hard that it vibrates a lot and the bandana help reduce the noise.

  • This song is amazing ! love it :D

  • great song so much feeling and soul it what playing is all about

  • I love you.

  • Nice chords Antoine

  • After 1:13, starts the beginning of a beautiful relationship, ;). I love the groove man, thats Bananas!

  • Really beautifully composed...

  • Fantastico!!!! Bravo maravilloso!!!

  • Name of this tune FITS.:) No Labels should be given to say what Love is, JUST let LOVE BE, l:53 begins to show you what LOVE is by how it resonates in your soul. What we were made to believe LOVE is, IT IS NOT LOVE AT ALL. When you allow LOVE to "BE" the manifestation comes forth. OH YEH!! Totally different. NO EARTHLY WORDS WILL FIT BECAUSE LOVE-IS. : -))))))) UMMMMMMM

  • Yes I feel this way about sticky buns and Burger King. I love those things and Britney Spears, Rambo movies..ahh....

  • "if it were ALL false, it wouldnt be so widely accepted"

Oh yeah? It was once widely accepted that the Earth was flat. If that were false, it wouldn't have been so widely accepted, right?

    Idiot.

  • I'll respond to you with a PM.

i realized that i shouldn't have made that first post because it's impossible to mention religious literature (even trying to be neutral) without stirring up controversy. for that, i apologize and remove my previous comments.

  • @MourningsEnd well..that's not intirely true, because scientist are almost sure that the people didn't believe the Earth was flat because they could see that the horizon was curved.

  • religion troll is fail

    and has daddy issues

  • Because a song like this has lyrics enough, just listen how the music is played, you should listen to the lyrics. It sound amazing.

  • 1:29 till the end is amazing

  • As amazing as his other songs are to me, this is my favorite one. I think "Development" is tied with "Trilogie" for a close second for me. Man, Antoine Dufour's an amazing musician. (Well, pretty much everyone there at CandyRat is! Simply marvelous!)

  • I completely agree with you. Though Antoine seems to attract my attention the most with his unique style, and is currently my favourite musician out of the CandyRat artists. That it until someone else comes along and completely dazzles me with their originality. Though I doubt any of the other musicians on CandyRat can even come close to Antoine Dufour in my heart.

  • Sergio Altamura.

i always saw Antoine as the candyrat poster boy. He's like their T-pain, all over everyones shit.

  • this one's is very, but VERY good. still not the best one by antoine dufour.

  • this sounds lyk its standard let me know if im right plz bcuz i really want to learn this song

  • It's standard. :)

  • hey krazysoto, if you're gonna learn this wonderful piece, make sure you go to Antoine's youtube page. He loaded up 2 videos giving a tutorial on the bridge. Really helpful.

  • yep, standard tuning.

  • like reading

  • =O unconcievably amazing!

  • not to jump into this conversation, but if people stop treating religion as a personal wishing well then it wouldnt get so much scrutiny

  • jfro69,

    so true, so true........

  • thank you

  • черт я аж затанцевал

  • Less Jonas brothers, more Antoine Dufour for the win !

  • infuckingcredible positions. <3 his music.

  • iamrobertpaulson >> Maybe he's that loving, and maybe, just maybe, he's strategic.

brandon5pennies >> I agree with you. Just enjoy the show, folks! Life's too short for too much the chatter.

Comments can be a blessing and a curse!

  • lol why are people bringing religion into this? this is a musician performing a beautiful piece of music and religion aside it's great whether you believe or not

  • what's the time signature on this?

  • Its in 4, but its rubato.

  • Whole song is 4/4 at a tempo of approx. 115 (according to official tabs)

  • Yeah, but the whole thing is Rubato.

  • listen to the noise he makes when he strums...it makes abeat of its own, even better on cd..
