How to: Samung Ultra get 2GB of RAM

The samsung q1 ultra is only 800mhz,where can i get q1 ultra premium which is higher processor between 1.3-1.5ghz.

I just like to double check on the processor my motherboard can handle I have a GA-945GZM-S2 Socket 775. On the manuf. website the motherboard Support Intel® Core™ 2 Duo* / Pentium® D Processor. Ok I got this part. But on a defferent website it said it Supports Intel® Core™ 2 Extreme dual-core / Core™ 2 Duo / Pentium® D / Pentium® 4 / D processors. Is Extreme dual core different then core 2 duo? I'm thinking about purchasing Intel Core 2 Duo Processor 3 GHz 1333MHz 6 MB LGA775 CPU

I upgraded to 2GB Ram on my Samsung Q1 Ultra: Model NP-Q1u running Vista

Bought it from crucial.com their ref is:CT25664AC667

Module Size: 2GB

Package: 200-pin SODIMM

Feature: DDR2 PC2-5300

Specs: DDR2 PC2-5300 • CL=5 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR2-667 • 1.8V • 256Meg x 64

Hope this helps as I bought the wrong chip to start. Easy to fit.

Can you use 800MHz DDR2 instead of 667MHz DD2 SO-DIMMS, will the 800MHz stick downclock to whatever speed the Q1 supports ?

the 2 gig ram is a 200 pin ddr2 sodimm 256mx64pc2 5300

the video seems to run choppy than before & front camera does not intialize

are there any setting i need to adjust

i went into system settings, it does reconize 1.99 of ram i'm running windows XP

I've had the Samsung Q1 Ultra less than 24 hours, Saw your video, went to my local electronics store, purchased a 2 gig DIMM, came home and 20 mins later, my new toy was running much faster.

Q1 runs much better with memory upgrade,could not have done it myself without your help!Video from Creative Vado now runs smoothly before it was choppy.Programs load faster.Pulling the case apart was a bit of a struggle but took my time and got there in the end.

Asus r2e (equivalent to samsung q1 ultra) has fixed on-board 1gb memory to prevent users to change memory because they could broke machine.

Samsung has not...........but his chipset appear to be the same.....

someone could demonstrate me that i'm loss in error?

chipset (Intel 945GULX + ICH7X) mounted on samsung q1 ultra version NT-Q1U/N101 DOESN'T EXIST on intel website and reference....it seem to be a non-existing chipset......so searching for processor a110 you will discover on intel references that the only chipset mounted on is 945GU + ich7 .

if you have a verson with 945GU + ich7 chipset you cannot add extra memory more than 1 gb maximum.....the limit of this chipset is that it cannot accept more memory than 1 gb maximum installed. For reference see INTEL specifications at (see page 29 for 945gu): document 30921905.pdf on intel site.

so if you try to mount 2 gb memory on samsung you have broken rapidly your umpc.

thank you so so much. the q1 runs so much better now since i installed the 2gb memory. video plays better. internet seems to load faster. games run better. i use my q1 ultra now more than my main computer. you rock for posting this video. i have the EL verison and it work fine with the upgrade.
