Thought surely Out of Time would have taught you & the other Boys from the Dwarf all there is to know about prompters.
I wonder, did you have to totally depend on it this time, or was it like the Rimmer's mum-fish speech in 1st polymorph episode (Give Quiche a Chance)?
It looked a little bit like you were reading in and out in places, but once you got going I was caught up in it and forgot all about the technology! Fabulous sentiments! Cheers!
That was like one of those big speeches in Dwarf. Anyway, I just thought you looked really tired on the last update. Glad you're all better now, though. Have a great christmas and new year, Robert, and well done again.
I just happened to stumble upon you and your videos on here yesterday - being a die hard RD fan I was looking for the clip about the Seventh Day Advent Hoppists for some reason, don't even remember why now, and found you instead. Lucky me! I watched some of "Making Do" and I loved it. I actually SKIPPED xmas this year! Best December Ever. Thanks and keep it rolling!
I'm glad we've had this chance to accompany you on your journey throughout the year! I feel almost as if I've been through it with you... therefore I don't have to do it again :P
What a year its been.. Well done Bob you've done very well! Hope to see you on youtube next year doing something else so bold and wonderfull it could only be a Llewtube production..
You're an inspiration to us all, Mr. Llewellyn. It's time to focus less on consumerism, and a little more on introspection and what truly matters in our lives.
Much prefer hearing the spontaneous bobbyllew but great none the less!
watched all your vids. My boyfriend showed me your first one and I subscribed. Iwas chuffed to actually hear back from you when i asked about your dog ^^
You've really opened my eyes to "stuff"!
It's really admirable and I hope you get everything you deserve in the new year! Have a great Christmas and i hope you enjoy coming back to the world of consumerism he he :p
Yeah Bobby, you really do look like you're reading mate, and the delivery just isn't the same. You've done fine all year- no need to try and get clever now!
Have loved the year's films- thank you, and Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Really enjoyed this series. I found episode 17 or something advertised on YouTube awhile ago and determined to watch the entire series. Been absolutely fascinating and I've shared the idea and the links with tons of my friends.
I hope you'll have a chance to post once more to wrap this thing up and I hope your book is out in the states so I can read more about your journey. Thanks for the thoughts and all the bits of revelation. Good stuff.
Glad you're on the mend. Really enjoyed this series of vids and your thoughts on the process through the year. We are currently swamped with the commercial/social minefield of kids Xmas gifts in the playground aargh! Cheers, Lesley
I've enjoyed watching all of your videos in 2007 and have especially enjoyed the making do ones. Good work. I think you've highlighted something important. We can all live and manage on a lot less, that is very true. Although my girlfriend says I'm so tight I've been making do for years.
Thankyou so much for all your making do posts Mr Llewellyn. We all appreciate you taking the time out of your busy life to brighten up all of ours :o) But that can't be the end of bobbyllew - PLEASE don't stop posting!
Yeah -- the software? Not so great. You're immensely more interesting when you're talking off the cuff. I think we all are. Still an interesting message, but obviously read. Maybe you can still use it, but talk from an outline -- and keep the details "fresh".
i have to admit, i admire that you have managed to get so far with your "making do" series. I dont usually spend that much stuff as being a student i try and buy only what i need, and let my parents do the rest, but as you are a parent yourself you deserve a huge pat on the back!!
don't use that software again Mr Llew. If anything it distances you from the watcher, which I am sure is not your intention. You really give yourself a hard time I think. You may not have thought of giving those pants to the homeless by yourself but as soon as you were asked by your friend you cheerfully abliged. Merry Xmas
... thank you for your effort and example! A merry xmas to you Rob.
btw this reading thing... yes, you may skip it. It just distracts you. Better to speak to us as you normally do and then edit for adequate "fluidity".
Yup, scrap the software! Not only is it obvious visibly that you're reading from an autocue, but you can tell from your voice - there is nearly always a noticable difference between someone "winging it" and someone reading pre-typed stuff.
Hi Robert. Yep If you just stare at your eyes, you can tell that you're reading. but hey no problem, you couldn't see autocue in 'out of time' (red dwarf in-joke) and you couldn't easily see them now. Anyway well done on making through a whole year while Making Do'
we're having a no spend xmas, we've invited people who are at a loose end, everybody is bringing something to eat and we'll have a ball. No turkey, no tree, just goodwill.
perspective.. yes, I have a computer I am now offically "privileged", but I thought it was the country I live in.. an artical in the news paper said to combat against the global problems we have was to work less, consume less and recycle more.. I think its a good idea..not radical, its Sweden.
Heartiest congrats on making it to the end of a year of making do. Its been addictive veiwing for a number of us and especially myself as it has been a great escape. Hopefuly we'll get a post making do update in the new year?
Im looking forard to your next project...merry xmas Bobby.
Happy Christmas, Rob! Love love love that you've been doing this, and if I wasn't a student who can seldom afford new stuffs as it is, I would totally be making the pledge. As it is, though, there are so many things we NEED that we still don't have, so I'd probably trip over my own feet by february.
This christmas, I made my own statement by buying from the hungersite and its affiliates. I feel so good about those pressies.
its a little but obvious your reading its fine tho, your right about being privileged tho because i know so many people who complain about how shit their lives are when they are sitting pretty with everything they could ever need or want but all they do is complain.
Wading around in shit isn't good for you? no... um.. shit?
