  • Seriously, Walt Disney wouldn't have wanted to open up the new queue until those busts were in movement........... WE WANT WALT ALIVE AGAIN!!!!!!

  • This looks fantastic. I was worried it would be too computery or gimmicky, but I think it is a nice addition to the ride and in the spirit of the original

  • Of all of the graves that returned, I did not see the one for Fred.

Now who will have a greate big rock fall on their head?

  • Translation: Welcome home you foolish mortal. This mansion is your mystic PORTAL

  • I was skeptical at first, this is my 2nd favorite WDW ride and I was afraid of kids running amuck etc. However, you DO have an option and for younger kids this shows them that it's not scary but fun, and I was running around like a kid! I had a blast playing with the organ, it made me hyped to go inside and did not take away, it added. Give it a try, and if you don't like it, go the other way!

  • The idea was there it was just executed incredibly terribly. Too cartoony. Too much for children. And most importantly, Walt wanted the exterior of the Mansions to look nice and let the ghosts take care of the inside. PLUS they screwed up the HHGs!!! They are flat and too f***in cartoony for the HM. The HM is suppose to have gags but so it can still be scary!! Bad show Disney.

  • @PhineasTheGhost Sorry, but I completely disagree.

  • lol it just said Ezra thats it lol

  • Absolutely love the Haunted Mansion; been on it many times and can't wait to see this new queue

  • this is cool :)

Phantom Manor is a interesting ride, it would be awesome in spend the night at the The Haunted Mansion from the movie.

  • @Mstealth89 me too!

  • It was done tastefully and didn't ditract from the original ride though I did get confused about what side to walk into.

  • Finally! They've actually made the bloody line exciting for once. :D You have something fun to do as you move along. lol

  • what to all the tombstones at the beginning say??

  • that music like grim grimming ghosts in 1:46 dont you think?

  • Is this the one in Florida????

  • @MsVolley7 yup

  • So cool, cant wait to go back this winter!!!!!!!!!

  • @minnesotarox18 hey, im going in the winter 2! :P well, in march, end of winter...

  • "Sweet Hanna had taken a cruise to Manila, she was thrown overboard by an angry....?"

    Me - CHINCHILLA!.....oh wait.....XD

  • i rode this it was so freakin awsome went there in november

  • i know who's cat you see at 3:21 let's just it belonged to someone with a ship who is floating

  • Of course, the year after I go they do all this...

  • Ah, when I went to Disney World I only managed to get to use it once. It was raining both days we were in the magic kingdom. Most of the stuff was roped off, but my brother and I managed to reach over the parts and touch the instrument things XD

  • is this the Florida one?

  • Is the haunted house CINERELLA because what i saw in the video part 8:15 is GUS

  • This is so cool 5:05 to 5:33

  • the book ( 5:12 ) freaked me out because I thought that it was a regular book..

  • Comment removed

  • how di they do the book thing like made it write by it self

  • @gmail4123 It's most like a screen.

  • I felt like helping that woman finish her poem from 4:41 to 5:17.

  • There's a Disney podcast on iTunes!!! Called Mousetalgia

  • Good job!

  • the bin wevals ad at the begining ruined it!

  • the bin wevals ad at the begining ruined it!

  • O wow fun!

  • Too bad I live closer to Disneyland than Disneyworld.

  • 6:57 its like that WALL on wipeout... hahaha

  • i'v been there back in 1994...

  • This stuff is insane! I only wish Walt were here to see it... He probably never in a million years new this stuff would be possible some day. I'm glad to see the workers at Disneyworld are continuing to make his dream come true.

  • @JackLORDofTOASTppl

Disney execs are all too keen to sell cheesy crap to tasteless people.

Thing is, back in the day Walt and the wed engineers really labored to make something they thought was good. And that's why they didn't put in any gimmicky interactive schlock, it destroys the atmosphere of the space.

The effects they did put in were, subtle, intended to make you question what you were seeing, and prep you for the mind tricks you experience on the ride.

  • Did the tombstone at 1:20 remind anyone else of Ezio?

  • This queue line is a great addition to an awesome ride. I mean it definitely beats looking at sweaty peoples back fat like u do in most other lines. Love it!

  • As stupid as it may seem, I think it looks like a lot of fun.

  • @MegaCupcakeGirl12345 what happened

  • I still won't go on this ride after what happens when I was 3

  • Terrible.

  • that was so stupid!!!

  • This is just wonderful, though. I love our mansion and the new queue. There is nothing wrong with it at all. Haters gonna hate

  • They need some more things involving Master Gracey. Everything revolves around him anyways, I mean he's the master of the house.

  • ive realized the haunted mansion should be renamed to "the house of irony"

  • Lord no. This is great for WDW as it is part of the huge complex of the Haunted Mansion grounds - yet for our original Haunted Mansion in Walt's own Disneyland, it is not as grand in acreage and would look and feel like a bunch of carnival tricks thrown in where one should feel the mood. In different areas nearby, fine, but please just do not ruin the queue area of our original gem.

  • They're always adding stuff to the florida one but I guess they forget about the original in california.

  • @TheWeeklyCorn I think there trying to keep it original since it's the original but don't worry they'll update the California one soon.

  • @RoxasClaimsRiku I beleive Leota Toombs was an actual Disney employee at one time. She was either a seamstress in the Wardrobe department or was a janitor at the park. And she's the actual head and voice of Madame Leota the floating head in the crystal ball.

  • @Gibsonburgman She was actually an imagineer (people who design the rides) and provided the Face of Madam Leota but the voice is actually Eleanor Audley, a famous Disney Voice actress who was in many of the old movies and she was actually Maleficent in Sleeping Beauty. The original Leota Toombs daughter Kim Irvine is also an imagineer and provided the head for the Nightmare before christmas version of the haunted mansion Leota.

  • i went yesteray :D

  • @RmBzUtube How did you like the queue?

  • @TaylorHound I'm very sure :)

  • @TaylorHound Yes, but that isn't Elizabeth Gracey in the picture, it's Sally Slater.

  • @KochoLaLa you sure?

  • @TaylorHound ...and Master Gracey was a week late. She thought he had died, so she killed herself, and when he returned and saw no candle in the window he searched the swamps and found her. That's why he hung himself in the stretch room, why the beating-heart bride holds a candle, and why one of changing pictures shows a ship in the middle of a storm.

  • @KochoLaLa yes and thats why in the stretcher room theres a girl about be eaten by aligators

  • @TaylorHound She did kill herself in the swamps over a broken heart, but it wasn't from an alligator. I don't quite remember how she killed herself, but it was over Master Gracey, who was a sailor of some kind, not showing up for their wedding, and she thinking he had died at sea. She was supposed to hold a lit candle to the window every night for five nights before their wedding so Master Gracey could see her from his ship on the wedding night when he returned, but there was a storm at sea, an

  • Ok all of you! For those of you who dislike it, then bypass that line. No one is making you go through that line. The rest of the mansion is the same 2007 refurbishment but with the hitchhiking ghost effects at the end. For those of you purists I get it, but just get over it. It is a fun line for kids and people who are not caring about the scariness.

  • @TaylorHound Master Gracey's wife would have been Elizabeth Gracey, the original beating-heart bride that was in the attic before Constance Hatchaway replaced her. Sally Slater is not related to Master Gracey, she is simply one of the 999 ghosts that live in the mansion.

  • @KochoLaLa I Know but Elisabeth committed suicide at the swamp.

  • I love how that one woman made a Wipeout reference! >XD

  • The Imagineers have done it again - Absolutely fantastic!!

  • Is The Madame Leota tombatone still there? She has the most haunted Stone of all :)

  • @ProfessorVenom Yes! She is in the very front of the line where she always has been.

  • Although this might not be scary, it gives some of the ghosts on the ride more of a background. If you listen to Prudence Pock, the poet, she mentions a Sally Slater who was eaten by an alligator. Now the stretch portrait girl has a name. It all adds to the characters, not to the scariness.

  • @KochoLaLa but the girl eaten by the alligators isn't Sally slater its Master gracey's Wife,

  • looks fun

  • please for the love of God dont bring this to Disneyland PLEASE!!!!

  • @TaylorHound Why not let them bring it to Disneyland? What Disney is trying to do is to make the lines interactive and keep the children entertained. I can tell you that after going at least 26 or more times, the children in line would get restless and sometimes even VERY scared to the point of crying. Not only does this keep them occupied but it also keeps them from being too scared to ride.

  • @RoxasClaimsRiku it would ruin a classic

  • @TaylorHound Some people would say it "ruins" the classic but they try to ENHANCE the experience. The lines are actually not longer. You can choose to bypass that line. There are two lines for it (I just got back from Disney World a day or two ago) and there is the scenic route or the direct route. So you cannot say that it makes the line longer unless you are stupid enough to go through the scenic instead of the other.

  • @RoxasClaimsRiku and not to mention the beginning of the ride is suppose to be scary. and the interactive line would make lines from longer.

  • @TaylorHound Plus, they already "ruined" Small World there by adding in Disney characters. However, they always leave an original ride alone in at least one of the parks (the ride itself, not the actual line). I asked a cast member who is pretty much a friend of mine and that was their response to how they work Disney theme parks.

  • anyone notice the name Ravenscroft on the organ? It's in memory of Thurl Ravenscroft who's the deep voiced bust in the graveyard and also who did the voice of Tony the Tiger

  • @Gibsonburgman Yay! I am so glad you recognized that. I actually was thinking who else could catch on. Bravo for knowing your Disney. Now, if you know who Leota Toombs really was, and which voice in the ride is hers, you just won big points.

  • @Gibsonburgman also, the grave stone for francis xavier is in honor of x atencio who wrote the ghost host script i believe

  • I can name a Magic Kingdom attraction specifically for teens and adults. It was Alien Encounter.

  • @RideOnAhead Boy, do I miss the Alien Encounter.

  • you said someting about the busts bein interactive, what exactly makes them interactive? (in other words, what do they do?)

  • 3:00 - The instruments look kind of weird, but I guess they almost seem like something Rolly Crump would've done. I'm a little split on that.

4:46 - Kind of annoying. I could've done without this one. I'll be able to tease my girlfriend (Hannah) about her name being in it, though, so there's that.

6:45 - What was that about a cryptogram? Anyway, this is pretty interesting.

7:29 - I recognize these names. Good to see they're getting credit.

  • @Jasonbobdude The instruments actually have a trick to them. The ones on the front are what he played before his death (the nicer, calmer looking and sounding instruments) and the ones on the back are what the instruments became in the afterlife (a more haunting sound). Subtle but intelligent.

  • They all look really wild--is this one ever coming to Disneyland in Anaheim? Also, are they planning on adding anything different at Halloween-time regarding "The Nightmare Before Christmas"?

  • @saveourship99

regarding the interactive queue coming to disneyland in anaheim, I hope not.

  • They all look really wild--is this one ever coming to Disneyland in Anaheim? Also, are they planning on adding anything different at Halloween-time regarding "The Nightmare Before Christmas"?

  • omg cool technologies and ideas there! damn imagineers - so smart....

  • @MouseFan1984

Fair enough, but it didn't have to be stupid, illogical, and grating for kids to like it. There are LOTS of examples of entertainments that are well conceived and delightful for adults, children, casual fans, and purists alike. This new queue misses the mark on At LEAST 2 of those counts. Let's please create entertainment for children that doesn't assume that they are tasteless idiots. By doing so, we will find that we've created entertainment for everyone.

  • it's a bunch of stuff for people to play with while they're waiting to get into the Haunted Mansion. A ride I've never waited more than 20 minutes to get into! These interactive tombs not only jump the shark by revealing the ghosts as foolish before you ever enter the attraction, they get some stuff logically WRONG. Some of the headstones are placed in spots where a body could never be buried. Other features are just grating. The ghost poet might have been spooky fun, but instead, she's loud an

  • @cardboardbelt

Peak summer hours man. I just got back from WDW this past week....and unil the afternoon parades started, the queue was running 40-45 minutes.

Factor in the central Florida heat and humidity plus bored, irritable small children and this play area becomes a godsend. They just need to cover the pathway with a shade.

  • The Haunted Mansion was just fine for DECADES without this awful queue. Adults AND kids have loved this ride since 1971. The new queue violates the story/concept of the ride and is just plain annoying and poorly thought out. I'm not against doing something like this, but what they did is mostly dumb.

  • @cardboardbelt what is all this they added?

  • its not supposed to be scary! it's disney! it's supposed to be "kooky" and fun for children. the scariest disney has ever gone is "The Nightmare Before Christmas". C'mon, it's for kids people.

  • @FloridaHeartMomma

O.K. To say that because it is Disney does not mean that its automatically for kids.

Also The new queue erases all the sense of mystery to the haunted mansion making it seem fully kid friendly, really if you think about it, the ride isn't until after the attic scene. the first half from the moment you enter the stretching room, till you leave the attic is atmospheric and genuinely scary and creepy and has been at disneyland since 69 and Disneyworld since 71.

  • @Spheremaster0001 ur an idiot. "disney" and "magic kingdom" is particular (not necessarily wdw as a whole) is for kids dumbass! The entire MK park is designed for kids and kids at heart (Big Kids is what Disney calls them.) It's not that scary, I saw a bunch of five year olds who thought is was quote "awesome!!!!!!". It's not scary. It's not scary and I went through it a bunch of times a few weeks ago, and it doesn't ruin the ride at all!

  • @Spheremaster0001 in fact, you can choose to not go through the cue at all if you don't want to waste the time...so if you think it will ruin the ride, which it won't, you don't have to go through it. Name one other ride at MK not designed for children. Oh, there isn't one. BECAUSE IT ALL FOR KIDS! If you want a scary experience, go somewhere else.

  • @Spheremaster0001 I'm really tired of ppl assuming that because it's a haunted mansion, it's supposed to be scary, and/or because other disney parks have decided to make their haunted mansion scarier, then WDW's HM must be scary too. On a level of 1 to 10 is like a 4 in scariness. WDW has decided not to make their mansion all that scary and has opted for a more "kooky" feel and parents of the park are overall appreciating that. It's well liked. So get over it everybody.

  • @FloridaHeartMomma its suppose to be scary at the beginning then kooky

  • ur lucky ive never been to disney

  • LOOKS AWESOME I want to go soon

  • It's very true, Disney should spend more time improving what is there vs. adding more to what worked quite well enough on its own. Luckily the inside hasn't changed anything while the hitchhiking ghosts are looking much more terrifying than ever. I'm still very anxious to hear about what Guillermo is planning for the new 'and hopefully better' Haunted Mansion film will be like. It includes the legendary Hatbox Ghost and may include a setting more like the Disney World ride.

  • Funny thing is, Bob Iger doesn't even like the new additions to the mansion queue, he told us himself... "looks ok, but it's no 'Forbidden Journey' lol". I personally think the queue is too noisy but visually charming in many places. There is a real lacking to the layout and the shaded queue 'while more comfortable in the blazing sun' makes the environment seem crowded. Thankfully they have included all of the original headstones with the headstones of our three famous hitchhiking ghosts. :D

  • I hate this! and The changes to the ride! It's not scary! Which sucks! I mean its supposed to be scary but still fun, but now its cheesy, :P

  • Its A Walk Through??

  • @newyourk1439 you usually walk and stand through a line...yes. The ride is not a walkthrough.

  • the best part about disney it that they up soooo much detail in they're rides

  • is the ride itself different?

  • @Bigmarcus11

For the most part no. But the hitchhiking ghosts animatronics are new, and the end mirror gallery now has CGI ghosts sitting pranking you. Instead of just sitting in the car with you, they are actually moving....sitting on top of the car, pulling off their heads, pulling off YOUR head...

  • ARE YOU SERIOUSE!!!!!!! THIS WAS POSTED THE DAY I GOT BACK FROM MY TRIP!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The Haunted Mansion in WDW is going through Changes but remains open???????

It opened 1971 but the ride itself opened 1969 in Disneyland! This looks good but creepy!

  • According to people who have seen the new mansion in person, the new HHG and graveyard on the hill (Not the interactive queue) make up for the new queue.

  • I miss the old queue and ride!!!! :(

  • the captains tomb leaks water. I give it a year before they shut the water off.

  • of course. i come here three months before and now its all new.

  • @josejalepeno63 lol... yep my luck is bad too.

  • @oddsource :/ sucks.

  • I like that there are a lot more nods to imagineers and people who played a part in the ride (especially the ravenscroft brand organ)

but for nostalgia's sake, i'm not the biggest fan. I used to be terrified of this ride when I was little. (seriously, I refused to go on from ages 3-13) so the interactive cue seems to make it less scary.

but, it looks fun and i'll definitely want to try it out next time i get out there

  • Where was Madame Leota?! Or did I miss her?...

  • They even added a little memorial to Thurl Ravenscroft in the new queue. That's nice of WDI. :)

  • I went Friday, but they completly blocked off this area! I'm pissed and disappointed!

  • This is a terribly disheartening outrage!

  • @LeSuperKoffee ......Why?

  • @snowwhite923 heres why.... kids are getting too scared. THIS is how kids THINK that the ride isnt going to be SCARY!!

  • @mrkylesfilms1 well the name alone should tell them its scary.."Haunted Mansion" thats scary. People who are with those children should maybe take control and say to the kid 'hey, this is a really scary ride'. A few things that moves during the queue wont cause a sensation for 2 year olds around the world, it is just to make the long lines easier to handle for everyone. I dont see one problem with this.

  • great video, when exactly did the stone busts started to operate in the queueline?

  • I did not liked this. This is a McDonald's Haunted mansion themed "play area", too childish, noisy, unrelated to what the outside of the mansion and the first part of the ride is supposed to be (solemn, quiet, creepy) A good Idea would of been doing a good graveyard, the busts are the only thing I approve, the rest is just very Mcdondal's like, this is not a children's ride, but an ALL FAMILY ride.

  • @omcgh You're completely wrong!

  • Please don't do this in Disneyland :[

  • @BuryMeInBlack1313 Please DO do it at DL!

  • @disneynut06 No dont!

  • I just went through it wednesday when i took a day trip! it was awesome... theres a video of it on my other channel- cooldisneygurl12

  • Comment removed

  • I actually prefer Pooh's interactive queue to HM's. The Pooh queue actually takes you deep into different aspects of the story as the line progresses. This just feels like a bunch of noisemakers clumped up together like a bad museum exhibit.

  • this que is a great way to spread germs...move on disney get over the interactive que thing

  • @domincfh Disney, DON'T get over the interactive queue thing.

The people slamming them are nothing more than a bunch of selfish and self-centered old fuddy-duddies!

  • @disneynut06 yea or we are people who are annoyed by the crappy theming that doesn't really fit the ride itself. Also, we dont want to get swine flu from touching these "interactive" elements of the line.

  • @domincfh Wait, are you SERIOUS right now? Swine flu was never anything more than a media sensation, it was a load of bollocks, and the "pandemic" was officially declared over last year. And what makes you think you can't catch it from the ride cars anyways? Or just standing around other people? Unless you live inside a bubble you stand a chance of catching airborne infections.

  • @CaptainHollyShort germs spread mostly from hands. Thats why after the swine flu outbreaks disney started to place hand sanitizer around the parks. sorry if i dont wanna touch something that 8000000 sick tourists have touched before me. but go ahead and touch that crap. i dont really care if all the disney sheep get a mexican flu virus. Thats on you. have fun!

  • @domincfh Then go the fuck ahead and put yourself in a biohazard suit you nimrod. Germs are on EVERYTHING everywhere, not just the interactive queues.

  • @CaptainHollyShort i was standing in the pooh line watching people sneeze and cough into their hands and then touch the interactive elements of the pooh queue. i almost vomited in my mouth.

  • @domincfh Do you go outside much? People sneeze and cough EVERYWHERE. And touch EVERYTHING. Like I said, biohazard suit.

  • @domincfh Also enjoy the semen in your hotel mattress and the cups that don't get properly washed, or the sheets that don't get washed in between different people staying in the room.

  • @CaptainHollyShort always check your sheets and mattress before accepting the hotel room

  • @domincfh You know there are things you can only see under a blacklight, correct?

  • @CaptainHollyShort i dont need a blacklight to see a bunch of dumb tourists sneezing and coughing all over there hands and then directly touching the queue.

  • @domincfh How often do you leave your house? You're either a shut-in or you blissfully ignore all the people around you that sneeze and cough everywhere in the world every day.

  • @domincfh Little fact here oh fraidy cat. When the swine flu came out and there were antibacterial hand sanitizers everywhere, it didn't really matter! Swine flu is a VIRUS not a bacteria! SO HAHA. Stupid health freak you are. Germs are good for you. They improve your immune system. And yea it sucks being sick, but you come out that much stronger.

  • @RoxasClaimsRiku hey retard the swine flu can be contracted through touching a queue line or shaking someones hand. The fact is that no one washes there hands on vacation (especially little children, the people who would be touching the wall the most). I dont care if i come out stonger after getting sick from some little tourist who just sneezed into his hands and wiped it on his jeans. Id rather not get sick at all in the first place. I suggest everyone skip the new queue for haunted mansio

  • @domincfh First of all, if you are going to be rude then spell correctly. *THEIR hands. Secondly, the flu is a virus and yes it can be contracted through certain forms of contact but it is still a virus and not bacterial. Those hand sanitizers were the media's way of trying to calm people down. People wash their hands on vacation, I know I do, and no one wants to be sick. It doesn't mean that germs are not good for you. Part of the reason people get so sick is their immune systems are weak.

  • @RoxasClaimsRiku spelling police over here. Anyways, if i do go through that side of the queue, trust me i will not be touching anything! Both virus and bacteria can be transmitted too easily like that, and i'm sure Disney will do nothing to clean it unless they become really disgusting with dirt and grime. PEOPLE DONT TOUCH THE QUEUE. DONT BE SHEEP!

  • @domincfh No one said you had to touch it? And yes, I am a spelling police type of person because today people can hardly spell correctly and I refuse to become those people. Disney actually goes through each ride and each line first thing after park closing and first thing before park opening to clean them with very strong cleaners. I have been there after hours and seen them do this process. They leave nothing untouched.

  • @domincfh Besides that, people can go through the queue and you should not discourage them. It is a fun queue. I thought it would be horrifying and diminish my experience, but it is cool technology. Disney had the technology for interactive things before XBOX 360 Kinect and even before Wii came out. Get over yourself and trying to frighten people away. They can make their own decisions, and if something happens it will be their choices that lead them there.

  • @RoxasClaimsRiku If Disney cleans there queues every day as you say, then why is there old chewing gum in the queues of BTMRR and Splash mountain every time i go there. The logistics of them cleaning every queue night after night seems very unrealistic. Your argument is mute. Even you must admit that with the amount of people touching those queue lines, they are truly breeding grounds for germs and viruses

  • @domincfh Now now, I never said they were not filled with germs. I told you not to go in those lines if you do not want to. The chewing gum is usually there from being left since the morning when the park opens. Even they miss places, just as you cannot clean each and every corner of your household. They still do a lot of cleaning. Do you have over two thousand people at your house each day? No? GET OVER IT.

  • @domincfh Plus, if germs freak you out that much then do not go in that line. They give you that option as I have stated many times before. Besides that, do you know how many germs are you in your own home? And, if you hate them, then avoid Disney altogether. Get over the fact that people do that and take some sanitizer with you or just deal with it. Either way, let it go.

  • @domincfh If you are so concerned about germs, here's an idea: DON"T GO PLACES WHERE THERE ARE OTHER PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY somewhere like Disney where you are surrounded by literally THOUSANDS of other people from all around the world and their germs.

  • @IautumnfireflyI no i will go. i just wont touch "interactive" portions of the queue where the avian flu and other foreign infections are spread like wildfire. I'm sure the cms are going to clean that stuff on a daily basis (rolling eyes) dont drink the cool-aid you dumb tourist!

  • this is sooo awesome!!! i wish they would bring this to anaheim :(

  • Wow. If they put this in Disneyland's haunted mansion, this is where I want to be buried when I die.

  • Strike my last comment, now I have mixed feelings for this update. I appreciate that they brought back the original tombstones, but most everything else seems "out of place" with the theme.

  • Thats awesome!!! thank you soo much for posting! =)
