I swear by this clock. I have never be able to wake up on time and since I bought this clock I wake up effortlessly...that is until the bulb stopped working and I was left in the dark again. Philips will replace the clock as long as you have the receipt .... don't lose it like I did.

It's pretty obvious there's a spotlight external to the glow light or whatever it's called. In the 3 seconds or so of actual colour footage they show both the wake up light and the birds are light very brightly from a source above and behind the camera. I would wager if you shot any kind of powerful light at a rooster they'd crow. Plus anyone who's lived near roosters can tell you they start to crow before sunrise anyway.

I only started having regular contact with roosters after I turned 30, when I bought a cabin in the woods outside São Paulo. Up til then my only reference was corn flakes commercials. I was dumbfounded, almost offended, then just had to accept a simple fact: roosters crow all freaking night long. It doesn't matter the time nor the quantity of light. Maybe they just crow more during the day.
