  • @Magamaguitam You're Welcome Gracias

  • OMG thanks for posting this.. I still have this on an old vhs recording and have loved it for 2 decades! Wonderful to hear these again :)

  • What a great show this must have been- thanks for posting

  • I had forgotten how much I liked this tune. Thanks for posting.

  • Love it

  • Is this available on a bootleg DVD? Anyone know where to "score" a copy?

    Cheers!

  • This is not Goin´ Ahead.

  • actually this is goin ahead, augmented in places. I'm a violinist, so I won't make any viola jokes!

  • I caught many of the shows back then. Sadly, the Group has been unable to recapture that magic since then, with the exception of The Way Up, whose theme was introduced as early as 1978. Scrap the vocalise, "influences," and dense arrangements, Pat. Get it real again.

  • the guitar he has in his hands is wroth about 20.000$ thats if you own it.. If Pat sold it prolly 5 mill....

  • He would never sell that guitar, even though he no longer plays it. Did you know he paid 120 dollars for it?

  • wow only 120... Pats the Man..

  • The name of this song is 'Jean'

  • I just copied it off a set list on the net. I new it wasn't 'goin ahead'. Thanks anyway

  • hey dude thanks man are you in the uk?

  • yep UK

  • hey windwoodking do you have the rest of this track could you put it on?

  • All the concert I have, is now on youtube. It's a bit segmented due to the time constraints (10mins) per video upload.

  • same thing happen with my home made jerk off videos only 10 min i can go for hours...

  • He was 28 years old...!!!

  • du have the rest of this

  • I believe Pat also uses the Roland GR-808 guitar synth with the 303 module.

  • thanks! I was looking for this song!

  • i have been looking for this for ages this is awesome do you have the rest.if i recall this is the track with the helicopter and Nana at full pelt awesome thank you man

  • I think it might be The Bat part2/Ozark that you're looking for. They are on my page, had to cut them down as file was too large for youtube. Thanks

  • Man! Thank you so much for posting this video and the others from this time.

  • This may be, by the way, the only video out there that shows the first version Synclavier guitar Metheny used. The one he used after this seems to have a much different headstock. (note that this one is black and the synclavier guitar played in other videos is brownish).

  • this one is an early Synclavier prototype. the one he would use for the rest of his carrer is the Roland gr-303 controlling the gr-300 guitar synthesizer

  • To be more precise. Metheny uses a various array of synth guitars. He indeed uses the roland GR300 with 2 different guitars (the GR303 and a 303 with a much longer headstock). But he also uses a synth pickup with the VG8 (used from imaginary day onwards). He also uses a terratec interface for sound triggering.

And then there is the synclavier and the gr303 with synclavier control panel. The panel could be bought separate and built into the 303.

  • Yes i think.. i'm totally agree man!! i've never found information about the gr-303 with control panel

  • the control panel could be bought from Synclavier if I recall correctly. I think there is an ad floating somewhere in google images of this piece of equipment. I don't know of any other guitarists that used it. I read that Al di meola used a synclavier at some point but not sure if he used it as a sequencer workstation or with guitar controller.

  • Such a beautiful song, and I love Metheny...thank you so much for posting this video!

  • you're welcome.
