This song itself though is killer. It actually goes from like punk-resentful style in the beginning of the chorus when she's calling the dude silly and stupid pasttime and then seemlessly switches to sentimental and geniune in the latter part of it. That is seriously pretty amazing. And the way Fiona does it you feel the full on angst of the angry part and then the full on emotion of the sweet part cause she gets so into it.

The only other artist I know that did shit like that off the top of my head is Bradley Nowell from Sublime. Listen to the song Pool Shark performed live and how it goes from sad and tragic to full on punk anger and rage. Some might find that an odd comparison but honestly I see more similiarity between that than I do most of the other female artists that some fans of Fiona consider similiar I guess like Tori Amos who I find really boring

That's my main criticism for every one of these covers. This girl has an extremely good voice though, she would be amazing if she got into it like Fiona. Maybe her and some of these other girls that do Fiona cover songs that sing really well but lack feeling need to get screwed over real bad by a guy in their private lives and then they'll come with more emotion next time lol

well I play by ear and use a basic chord progression, just try to pick up the first part by ear, it's really easy. the next part is a G chord (it is my fault you see) Then F (never learned that much from me) then the chorus progression is C (oh you) B (Silly Stupid) C (past-time) G (of mine) C (you were always) E (good) C(For) G(Rhymes) Am (from the) Em (first) F (to the) Dm (signs said) C (stop) C (but we went) Dm(on wholehearted it) C (ended bad) G (but I love what we started) Then repeats.

Well... Actually I play by ear... with a little help by looking on google for chord progression. then you figure out what key its in and follow the chords while listening to the track a few times. this is how I figure out all my songs. :)
