West Virginia WOULD be heaven if it wasn't for all the logging and mining destroying the mountains and forests. I've lived here my whole life, and i wouldn't have it any other way .

Totally agree..the mining and logging companies are destroying everything that was once beautiful about this state. Don Blankenship has convinced everyone that people who care about the environment will cost the miners their jobs..actually,he just doesnt want to spend a couple MILLION of the BILLIONS in profit to provide safer work environment and to convert to clean coal technology. They will mine like hell while the price is high and then take the money and run when it drops. They dont care.

I've just been viewing videos of all the strip mining in what was beautiful WV. Our beloved mountains are being blasted away, our pristines rivers and creeks are muddy with sludge and the air seems poisonous with coal dust. I'm in despair after seeing what were beautiful forrested moutains now looking like a Mars landscape.

What can we do to stop this monstrosity?

My wife and I are from Cabell County, WV. It was nice seeing Huntington and Barboursville in there. We miss it and our friends/family very much and visit as much as possible! We would love some Stewarts hotdogs or Jolly Pirate doughnuts right now!
