All he wanted to do was to help improve the lives of the Thai people especially the poor and needy . It is up to the Thai people to solve the political problem. The system would work better if the majority of the people is well educated.

And the concept of respecting a King was not taught to me in school, since most of the Kings in Europe were deposed by revolution. However i have learned that Thailands King is a good King who loves his people and has their wellbeing foremost in His concerns. I have the greatest respect for Him, for He has restored my faith in Kings. My sincere hope is that he will continue to reign for many years to come.

Nobody questions the Thais love and respect for their King. But when will they start loving and respecting the rest of humanity? The latest lese majeste victims include people like old grandfathers with cancer, union activists, and young students trying to escape poverty by getting an education. In other words, those representing the poorest and weakest in society being are the ones being persecuted in the name of the monarchy.

All of the images in this video remind me not of a leader uniquely in touch with his people, but of propaganda shots as used by all dictators in history. I used to live in a country like this. We were taught from birth that our leader was special. We were bombarded with images of him with children, the poor & the sick. Any criticism led to jail. Many thought he was greatly loved by the people, as there was little other information available.

What has the love for a King has got to do with democracy ? FYI democracy rules in Thailand. The King is not above the law. Being in the 21st century is irrelevant for the love of our king. If we were in the 25th century and somebody like him comes along we would love him just the same. At the age of 84 he still tries to help us with finding the solution to the flood problem that the government cannot solve. Yes we love him .Long live the King. He is a King like no other.

First Thailand is not a democracy because it is illegal to criticize the king. Any critiques of the king can land anyone in jail for at least seven years. In America if you criticize the president they give you a job. Thailand is a weak democracy to say the least because they have had several dictators in the past and massive political corruption.

The King said that People can criticize the King, but he would like to know also what were his wrongdoings, why such criticism. You and I can take someone to court in defamation cases. The problem with coups is because we have so many corrupt and and powerful politicians. Many Thais welcome the coups as we have no other weapons against them.

The reverence and love shown by the Thai people to their king amazes me so much.. Big Thanks for worderful clip. when i was a little i love HM the king coz of messages from other people, media or teaching . That's lucky me I've a chance to work for king's project for 10 ten years. Now i can reallize everything myself. I proud to said that I totally love this great man, HM the king. No matter what.
